the Doctor
04 August 2017 @ 12:00 am
[he is sitting in what very much looks like the office of some laid back lecturer with a helpful globe on the desk, though it looks wrong as things keep shifting around, as well as pictures on the desk, shaping away from the camera]

Right so. I lied. I am not Joe Cool. Yes everyone who guessed right gets a cookie and a nice pat yourself on the back for being so clever. Go ahead. I don't mind. Over yourselves? Excellent.

I am the Doctor. There is another man who calls himself the Doctor and he is, in fact, me. You could ask but you'd be wasting your breath. Just don't question it and learn to live a little. Or alternatively ask someone who knows me and see what they will tell you.

Anyway, point is, I am here to help. So if there is something pressing I do have office hours posted outside the big blue police box. Please fill out your name and approximate time of the meeting. Don't hold your breath on the weekends however. If there is an emergency well. I'll find it. Believe me I always do.

However, if you are currently mad at me, that is to say, the Doctor. And by mad I mean furious, angry, want to maim or otherwise want to vent problematic elements of our current relationship, please come and see me and get it out of your system. I am the up to date operating system as it were and the other is still getting the bugs cleared out. But since I was him I can be blamed for all the himming he does.

If you vent your spleen at him instead, I shall be very cross. It's not all that easy keeping ourselves together, you know, especially when there is more than one of me in the same room so, angry as you may be, have consideration.

Anyway! [he drums his hands against the table] That's all I had to say. Staff meeting at ten. Tea at eleven. Twelve is when the fun starts. Oh, and if you know of any good indoor ice skating rinks, let me know. Provided we don't all drown in buckets of angst, it might be fun to get some lead out if you know what I mean.

[Seems Link has figured out how the device works by now.]

Hey. Uh...it's probably a long shot, but, if anyone's seen a girl named Zelda, can you let her know I'm looking for her?

I have something I'm supposed to give to her.

Any--anyway....thanks?

[The boy clicks off the feed.]

The weather report had predicted a partly cloudy and mild day in Everglade. However, somehow the predictions seemed to be wrong as thick storm clouds began covering the city mid-morning. By noon, it would be difficult to tell it was even day, as thick as the clouds that hung over the city were. At about 12:30, it would begin to rain. But this would not be a normal rain. Thick drops hit the ground, filling the air with a vaguely metallic smell, and anyone who had any sort of light source nearby would quickly identify why.

It was raining blood.

Meanwhile, in Everglade's abandoned church, music could be heard. A piano could be heard playing a rather haunting tune as the blood storm raged outside. Within, several small floating candles lit the place as what appeared to be an old man hunched over the restored piano, fingers dancing over the ivory. He wore a cape that spread over the floor behind him disappearing into the shadows and a few shapes could be seen moving through just beyond the reaches of the candle light.

[After last night's little robbery, Karla felt like making a broadcast. Now, more than ever, she was glad to finally have help. New deputies, whom she still has yet to meet personally. She addressed her audience, while disappointed at the outcome from last night, she had to remain confident that she could do better, with or without help.]

...If anyone plans to go to a bank for any reason...be careful. The bank in Genessia City was robbed last night.

The good news is, David Haller, the City Guardian, has hired some new deputies to assist in protecting the city. So I would like to say welcome to my new fellow deputies. I hope we can work well together to make Genessia City a better and safer place.

[She'll end the feed there. As a deputy, she's kind of learned to be careful about how much information to share.]

The Attleton Games were fun. I don't usually win anything. I mean, I didn't win the podracing either. I came in third but that was pretty good, I think.

I hope there are more fun activities around here soon.

So, um, how is everyone today?

Ow my head

So..uh, in case anyone missed the explosion and crap we could use a little help at the bank.

[The arctic fox looks around at the mess, he wasn't sure how long he was out for but it didn't seem to be that long.]

I think everyone's okay except for me and [Helgi coughs.] Some guy who got hit by a sleep dart.

[Yeah that totally wasn't Helgi's fault.]

Can someone tell me if this city has the NHS, I really don't want to spend my newbee money on hospital bills.

Captain Cassian Andor

(accidental) video

[The screen comes to life to blurry colors and quick motions, a glimpse at Gale Reinhardt staggering here, a glimpse at his apartment there, then there's a crash of a body hitting the floor.

A voice, Gale's, can be heard barking.]

Kriffing heels! See if I ever come to Nova again...

action

[Over the course of the day you can find "Gale Reinhardt" at home, speaking to a local sculptor ordering a life-sized statue of a Hutt to be sculpted and delivered as soon as possible.

Visiting his bars, he is making a nuisance of himself by quizzing people on everything from obscure details of bookkeeping to insisting on a complete overhaul of security protocols. He is also strangely insistent on all drinks being pink.]
