This is what happens when you DEFY Erza Scarlet

WHO: Erza Scarlet, Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel
WHAT: EU-RO TRAI-NING, EU-RO TRAI-NING... Erza Style as punishment for being defied.

WHERE: Fayren
NOTES: There will be blood, sweat and tears! ...following the brief cute.

The group of wizards had been settled in Fayren for a while now - long enough to get relatively comfortable in something of a routine. However there was a routine that Lucy had been missing, and that was just the comfort of her friend next to her. Erza'd never allow Natsu to sleep in the bed next to Lucy - she'd assume untoward things.

Lucy would also normally never, ever dare to defy Erza, but today she was. Gaspgasp shock shock. Waking in the middle of the night, she rolled over to the edge of her bed and peered down to where Natsu was sleeping on the floor, reaching over to nudge him with a hand quietly, whispering, "Natsu... wake up." This one time only, he could sleep in the bed. Erza won't kill them, surely!

Honestly even though the space was kinda tight, it almost felt a bit like home. As if they were on one of those longer quests that involved them staying in one place for sake of expenses. Luckily. Only a bit better since Gray wasn't there to piss him off and get in the way.

Though he still had to deal with the fear of one Erza Scarlet.

He stirred awake almost instnatly. Natsu hadn't really fallen into deep slumber yet. Not that he could. Not without Lucy's warm soft bed under him. He looked up into those brown orbs, an expression of groggy perplexity on his face.

"mmm? What is it, Lucy?" he asked in a whisper that was just as quiet as his partner's.

She bit her lower lip for a second, her gaze darting towards Erza's sleeping (maybe) form. She hadn't stirred yet, so she didn't hear the whispered exchange, thank heaven. Maybe it'd still be okay. Still she felt strangely awkward with the offer she was going to make.

"Do... you want to come up?" She shifted back on the bed a little, "...just for tonight." She added hastily, praying he couldn't see the blush in the darkness.

Funny that her 'Just for tonights' rarely were just for one night.

Now that was an offer he didn't expect to hear. After all Erza had been quite adamant that he didn't sleep in Lucy's bed. But maybe he was too sleepy or maybe he thought it was worth the risk.

"Well..." He started and looked over to Erza one last time. "Yeah that works for me. But lets keep quiet." Natsu said and slowly crawled up the side of the bed since he was sleeping right next to it. Sometime during the night he'd ended up gravitating towards it regardless.

"...I think I should be the one behind you. That way Erza won't see me first." Of course that meant he would have to crawl over Lucy.

The longer he considers it, the more nervous Lucy got. Erza could wake up any second, after all. This was a huge risk! ...but probably worth it. No, not probably. She was always more comfortable with him after all.

"Yeah..we don't want her to wake up." And get mad. Though she paused at his rational - it did make sense for him to be on the other side of her. If they pulled the blankets up Erza might not notice. Of course, she was thinking he was just going to walk to the other side of the bed. She'd have to exercise a supreme amount of effort not to freak out if he climbed over her.

Walking around would have been the reasonable course of action. But Natsu and reasonable rarely fit in the same sentence. "Right. Just hold still." Natsu said and suddenly moved to crawl over Lucy, putting one arm over her and on the other side before hiking up one leg over Lucy's body. He didn't even think how the current pose would look from an outsider's perspective.

Natsu would feel ~~the icy grip of death~~ the touch of a hand upon his shoulder and from the angle it was impossible to think that it belonged to Lucy. Silently from the within the darkness, Titania appeared!

Erza thought she'd been perfectly clear that there was to be no sneaking into Lucy's bed, but this was clearly much worse. What was with that position? Was trying to straddle Lucy? It was the only logical conclusion! Evidently she was correct to assume something like this would happen.

"Oho~ What do we have here? A midnight pervert?"

... right. Reasonable and Natsu, what was she even thinking. "Hold sti-" Lucy's eyes widened and she clapped a hand over her mouth to keep from yelping out a startled question. Like. Why was he climbing over her instead of walking around.

It looked bad. IT LOOKED REALLY BAD. "N...Natsu..!" She whispered frantically. But she didn't move an inch, no sir. Mostly because she was panicking. What if Erz-- ohhhhshhhi...

Her eyes just widened that much more when she heard Erza's voice. Oh they're dead. DEAD DEAD DEAD. SO DEAD. JUST. DED.

Natsu felt his blood turn to ice from where Erza gripped his shoulder. Yep he was gonna die. Most definitely gonna die. He shakily turned his head over his shoulder to look at Erza and flinched seeing the aura of righteous fury glaring back at him.

"W-What? No no I'm not a pervert I was just-" Though come to think of it the truth was gonna damn him anyway.

"And then you have gall to lie about what I can plainly see? Despicable!"

How else could you explain such a compromising position, Natsu? Are you going to say Lucy asked you to do it? Erza moved fast, catching Natsu by his trousers and shirt collar simultaneously.

"Since this room is clearly not comfortable enough for you, perhaps you'll sleep better outside!"

And with that, he's flung away from the bed on a one way trip out of the second story window. Fly little dragon! Fly!

It was bad enough Natsu chose THAT way to move to the other side of her, but getting caught by Erza? SO MUCH WORSE. She'd have to make it up to Natsu later, getting him in trouble. "A, Na.." Doh!

When the poor dragon slayer was sent flying, Lucy sat up a little nervously, staring at the redhead's back. She had no idea what Erza had in store for -her- too but she didn't want to find out. She glanced towards the door, debating making a break for it.

"W-W-Wait a- AAAAAAAAH" He yelled as he flew high into the night sky on a direct trajectory towards the moon hanging high high above on the night sky.

Erza went over to the window, and watched the Dragon Slayer soar.

"Oi! If you land in someone's home, you'd better not try sneaking into their bed! If you do I'll make sure you won't be flying upward next time!" She bellowed.

After a few moments of dead silence Erza turned slowly toward Lucy, and it seemed like her wrath had switched targets, but then the redhead seemingly calmed down.

"Honestly Lucy, if you can just let him accost you..."

She cracks her knuckles.

"...It's clear I haven't been training you hard enough."

Poor Natsu. When Erza turned to her though, Lucy shrank back, terrified beyond belief. Ohgod, this is it. This is her last day as a wizard. She's going to die.

..Or not? "A..accost me? You think he was tryin to--" Oh my god. "E-Errza! Natsu would never do something like that! I..I mean, it wasn't like that - it.. he was just-" Erza's totally not listening is she. And then the knucklecrack.

Lucy scrambled back against the headboard, holding her hands up. "J..just a second, wh.. what are you doing, Erza!!"

Slender fingers slid beneath the mattress and in one swift maneuver Erza flipped Lucy out of the bed.

"I'm going to train you so hard that you'll be able to fight off attackers in your sleep!"

Mostly because you'll have nightmares. Erza's smile twisted as she leaned in closer to Lucy, grabbing her by the ankle.

"Time for a special early morning Erza Training session!"

"YIEE!!" And Lucy performed a beautiful 360 degree flip in the air as Erza neatly ejected her from the bed. "Oww..!"

And .. and then Erza's smile twisted and Lucy was no longer afraid of even the most terrifying monster, because Erza by far, topped them all.

"Erza wait! Wait wait! I'm not dressed -- WAUH!!!" Woman she's still in her nightclothes! But no, her protests fell on deaf ears as Titania dragged her out of the room wailing the entire way.

She'll settle down once they get outside. Because she doesn't want to draw any more attention than she already had.

If Erza heard any complaints she certainly didn't show it. In fact for making so much noise at this early hour she'd increase the level of training. People were sleeping Lucy!

Once outside she would release Lucy but not before attaching ankle weights to the blonde.

"There, that should be enough to warm up."

Yes! People like her! She could have been sleeping right now, all cuddled up and warm and... uh... with... Natsu. Right. MOVING ON.

At least her nightclothes weren't thin or anything, but it was still embarrassing to have to go through training in it. She supposed that was part of the idea though. Clearly she will have to be sneakier about letting Natsu sleep in her be-- erm.

"O-oi.." Lucy feebly protested the ankle weights, shifting her feet and wobbling when she overcompensated. "How am I supposed to move with these on?" She bet Erza could dance with ankle weights on. Admirable, but Lucy thought Erza was expecting too much of her!

It's so much more different to fly without Happy's aid. Even so Natsu had a brief moment in his flight where he enjoyed the view. That was until he crashed violently into a tree and snapped it in half with the force of his crash.

Still in a daze, he staggered his way back towards teh Inn however he found Lucy and Erza's scents heading away from that place. despite his better judgement he followed and when he found them he finally stumbled down onto all fours.

Erza ignored Lucy for the moment, making her way over to the Dragon Slayer.

"Just in time, Natsu."

She grabs him by the ankle and up-ends him, attaching ankle weights to him as well. However Erza, being the crafty woman that she was, knew just how resilient Natsu was compared to Lucy so in addition to the weights she'd also fitted a pair of glittering pink roller-skates.

With that done she dumped him unceremoniously on the ground. In preparation for her own part in the things to come Erza requips into her purgatory armor, complete with roller-skates.

"Listen up! We're about to begin special early morning training. It seems our time in Exsilium has made you both soft and perverted! I won't tolerate it anymore! Instead you will channel that energy elsewhere!"

Out of nowhere she pulled our several weapons among them swords, spears, axes and other more esoteric creations that looked painful to even touch.

"There is an apple tree near the palace courtyard," she pointed in the direction to give them a hint.

"Your objective is to run to that tree and bring back an apple from the top without using magic. If you break this rule there will be a severe penalty."

She glowers at both of them.

"You will have a five second head start, after which I will give pursuit," she hefted one of the weapons; a large axe with more blades than seemed practical.

"Time begins now! Go!"

"Natsu.." W.. why glittering and pink Erza. Why. Lucy didn't have a chance to say anything more, trying not to wobble when she was moving with those weights.

"W.. Wait a second, soft and perverted!? Erza you've got it all wrong..! It wasn't what it looked like -!" He was just trying to climb in bed to sleep with her, GOSH -- wait...

Put those weapons away. They hurt to even look at. "... y.. you can't be -" Oh yes she can. Five seconds was hardly time though! "Bu-"

GO.

Lucy shot one look at Natsu before yelping and turning to scramble away, her pace barely even a jog. WHY DOES THAT AXE HAVE SO MANY BLADES.

"WHa the-" He never had a chance and he had to struggle a bit to stay upright since weights and rollerskates really don't mesh well. Of course any protest died in his throat when he saw the blades. Oh god he saw one of the "I AM TOTALLY SERIOUS" weapons in that mix. So he stumbled over to behind Lucy and proceeded to push her along faster and faster so that they could put some distance. Which likely wasn't happening fast enough.

"1...2...3...4..." Erza was completely still but the myriad weapons began to shift from their positions, each taking aim as she counted.

On the fifth second the floating arsenal dove toward the duo. Axes, cleavers and spears flew at the pair with deadly purpose, though Erza remained confident they could dodge... perhaps.

Lucy squeaked in surprise, wobbling at first when Natsu started to help her move faster. Quick to adapt, and terrified for her very life, she forced herself, almost desperately, to move her legs faster. Oh god oh god oh god. Glancing over her shoulder briefly, her eyes widened at the sight of the weapons flying at them. "Natsu!" DUCK. Or DODGE. Something! ERza was truly insane.

"Don't look back! Keep running!" He cried out as one of the spears shot right past his cheek. Though running was stretching it. She was hobbling about while he struggled to stay upright thanks to the rollerskates on his feet and the deadweight. Maybe if...

He got an idea and swung one of the weights out a bit to see if he could catch one of the attacks onto it to cut the weight loose. She said they can't use magic. Erza didn't say he couldn't use HER magic!

There was a thud, Natsu's outstretched foot had been in the path of another spear. Unfortunately for the Dragon Slayer the weapon did not cut the weight loose, instead it became imbedded in the weight adding a another layer of imbalance. Erza thought it was a pretty good attempt on Natsu's part but she wasn't going to stand for what was clearly against the spirit of the rules she'd set down.

"Natsu! If you'd like me to remove some weight all you had to do was ask!"

She was almost on them now. Erza wound up a powerful strike over her shoulder, akin to a hockey player, and swung low. It may have seemed like she was going to cut some limbs off but at most it would knock them on their asses.

THEY ARE

Oh nutbunnies, that wasn't a help. Still at Natsu's shout, Lucy forced herself to look away, even though it felt like the demon woman was practically on their backs. Damnit, if she were dressed properly she'd have her whip with her, and could use it to pull them along.

But no. She had to just push herself to the limit and then some, not wanting to move so slowly that Erza caught up with them. She could already feel the strain in her legs, protesting. Please don't let them be very far from the apple trees. PLEASE.

Hearing the swoosh of the blade, Lucy yelped and lunged forward, trying to get out of range of the weapon, nearly overbalancing and stumbling again. "I can't keep running like this..!"

"Aye sir!" Natsu yelped and almost tripped before he somehow managed to yank the spear out of the ground with a desperate pull of his leg.

Still it was worth a shot!

"You gotta keep going, Lucy! If we stop now, she's gonna catch us. And then we're doomed!" Natsu looked over his shoulder and quickly pushed Lucy's head down as a huge battle axe swung over their head.

Erza swerved off suddenly, disappearing into a side street. The tree was almost in sight now; amazing how fast you can move when your life is in danger.

The weapons didn't let up even though their master had vanished, they still doggedly pursued the pair cutting and slashing as they went.

Can't stop now. HE was absolutely right, but her legs were screaming and begging for her to stop running with those weights. Glimpsing the tree ahead of them, Lucy almost cried with delight. This nightmare would soon be - "EEP!" Oh nice save, she didn't want a shave today, thanks.

"We're almost there..!"

... Wait, where's Erza? WHERE IS ERZA?

He kept supporting her best he could. He didn't even notice when Erza disappeared the moment he saw the tree up ahead that was the only thing on his mind. That and making sure Lucy didn't lose a limb or anything.

"Ha. We did it!"

Guess what awaited them at the tree? That's right: Erza with an apple held in a mailed fist. She'd requipped into her Giants Armor as she waited for them.

"Too slow!"

She drew her arm back and loosed the apple straight at Lucy with the kind of force that could knock a building over.

It was amazing what fear for your life could do. She was even able to ignore the ache in her poor legs and the exhaustion from the adrenaline. Her heart soared with the goal in sight - when she should have been more concerned about WHERE Erza was.

So when she was spied there, Lucy let out a shriek of surprise OHGOD. "Duck!" Wait, no, that's an apple! However by sheer luck - or just mad skillz, the celestial spirit wizard frantically ducked the lobbed missile which would SURELY have taken her head off. DAMN Erza!

Oh for the love of Mavis! Natsu barely had time to react to Lucy's warning but rather than duck, Natsu threw his hand forward to catch the apple. Which was a sound enough plan. If it weren't thrown by Erza.

He caught the projectile but that did nothing to stop the force and momentum so Natsu was yanked off of his feet and flew some distance away down the street all the way to the start of it next to the town's main inn. Luckily he managed to take off enough moment from the pitch that he didn't torpedo through the building. For once he'd actually prevented property damage. At the cost of his own body since the apple still collided with his head even with his hand holding it.
