Anuncio #2 [Open Log]

WHO: Lopez, his coworkers, and anyone in Nova City who needs something fixed.
WHAT: Lopez at his job at "Sunfire Repair Shop"
WHEN: February 3rd
WHERE: Throughout Sunfire Repair Shop
WARNINGS: Unintelligible and Snarky Spanish Robot

[A]

[Anyone coming into the Sunfire Repair Shop today is going to be met by a new face, er, visor that is. Lopez, the newest employee of the shop, is currently stocking some shelves with things like motor oil and headlight fluid, taking advantage of his height (about six feet) to reach the higher shelves with ease.

Considering any type of uniform would be an issue for Lopez, who is permanently built into his armor, he's simply wearing an electronic name tag with the words "Hello, my name is: Lopez" inscribed on it. Anyone seeking help or guidance should feel free to stop by and ask him.]

[B]

[Admittedly Lopez wasn't exactly the type who needed a break: unlike humans he didn't need nearly as much rest time, taking longer to actually start running out of energy and need to refuel, and only slept when it was convenient and necessary. He doesn't really have any interests to pass the time either, so he just works to pass the time usually. However, he was still assigned a break, and he did in fact have something to work with currently.

Currently he's sitting at a table in the breakroom near the back, where he's currently messing around with his communicator. To be exact, he's carefully taking it apart and looking at the inside, probably to see if the translation issue was caused by an internal error. It looks a little odd when the device is taken apart, due to the glassy and clear design leaving little to the imagine as to whats inside, though Lopez seems to be seeing the inner functions somehow, since he keeps ranging it close to his visor to get a better look.

Admittedly fumbling with such a small device feels a bit awkward to Lopez, due to the gloves of his suit/body making it sort of hard at times to interact with the device without damaging something important. Sarge had made him largely for the purpose repairing large machines and vehicles much larger than this, allowing for Lopez to be a little rougher. Yet he still knows his fair share about this stuff, having been in charge of repairing nearly anything his team of idiots ended up breaking, including things like radios.]

[Pixy was sitting in the breakroom at a small table in the corner, flipping through a book he picked up at the library and having a cup of coffee in his hand. If not for the whole 'no drinking on the job' thing, he'd probably have whiskey, but eh, he has to make due with what he has.

He idly glanced up at Lopez a few times then usually went back to his book, but he eventually looked up and raised an eyebrow. The guy seemed to be fumbling with that tiny device quite a bit. It was a little distracting.]

You need a hand over there? Those gloves clearly aren't doin' you any favors.

Right...

[Man, Sapinish is a weird language. No wonder Pixy didn't mingle with his coworkers too often, so at least the feeling was mutual with Lopez there. Still, he offered, and even amidst that Sapinish gibberish, he could assume that Lopez was content working on his own going by the fact he didn't even look at him. Pixy shrugs and glances back down at his book.]

If you change your mind and you're willing to speak Osean, offer's open 'till my break's up.
solowingpixy: ("But that will never happen.")

[Oh, there's a word he recognizes. He may not be fluent in the language, but he's been around enough pilots to know more than a few vulgar words in other languages. Mercenaries were the classiest of people.

He glances back up, his eyes instantly catching the glint of the glass on the floor. He has half a mind to just point it out to him and leave it at that, but even Pixy feels like being a good samaritan once in a while. Plus the guy's delicately holding a small device that could probably come apart in several pieces again at the slightest wrong motion. Sure, Pixy doubts it since if Lopez is working here of all places, he knows what he's doing, but hey. Mistakes happen.

Setting his coffee on the table, he gets up and walks over, plucking the glass off the floor carefully by the edges. He at least won't be that douchebag that would intentionally smear the glass while picking it up and handing it back over.]

Like I said, the gloves aren't doin' you any favors.

[Hey, something else he actually vaguely understands. Maybe it was a good thing he was around the Espada duo for six months. Funny enough, he realizes, Espada 1's last name was 'Lopez.']

A language you can understand but can't speak apparently.

[He folds his arms and raises an eyebrow.]

You got that big, fancy suit of armor, and it doesn't even have a translator in it? What a cop out.

[He's managing to pluck out a few words here and there, but the last thing he is is fluent, so forming and understanding entire sentences was still beyond him.]

Yeah, you're losin' me again. Can't say I'm fluent in Sapinish. Best I've got is Osean and Belkan. Caught somethin' about fantasy novels though.

[Not that does him much good in this case.]

You consider checkin' out that Aster Technologies place? They boast about 'life changing technologies' so maybe they've got something for you over there. I'd say bein' able to talk to people in the same language could be categorized as 'life changing.'

If you don't go, I may have to stop by myself. Hard to work with someone if you can't understand 'em.

[He says that only half jokingly. He didn't really intend to go and spend money just to be able to understand one person, but it would make working with him a lot easier if Pixy could at least understand what he was saying. Maybe it would be beneficial incase someone else that arrived had the terrible luck of speaking a foreign language like Lopez.]

It's kind of surprising this doesn't occur more often.
