NEWSPAPER - BIWEEKLY EDITION
[Did you subscribe to The Genessia Tribune? Did you even remotely wish you had a newspaper or some other form of media to refer to for news, weather, and current events? Then you're in luck! There's a paperboy riding through the streets of Genessia flinging newspapers onto doorsteps or, if you're unlucky, through your window. Even remote locations in the other cities will still get a paper if one of the residents ever wanted one. The Paperboy is just that dedicated.]

Deputy Series
The Guardian Series is still selling well. Some stores are having difficulty keeping them in stock. The rush to the stores is about to increase now. Accompanying the Guardian Series action figures, a line of their Deputies have just been released as well.
Shipments went out to stores early yesterday morning and should be on shelves now. Multi-packs of the Guardians and the Deputies are expected to be released soon, but at the moment, you have to buy them individually.
Pre-orders for the figures had been in rather high demand, but a shortage in figures isn’t expected. The Deputies figures are a few redbills cheaper than their Guardian counterparts, but they are still made with the same level of quality.
Life Leeched
In the wake of the ecological damage being caused recently, a new letter was received from the Hands of Decay.
Whether the sudden death of wildlife is due to magic or not is unknown, as far as this writer can tell, no real investigation into the nature of the death is being organized. Well keep you updated as it develops.

A criminal calling himself the Puzzler had a letter delivered to the Newspaper this morning. An editor was hesitant, but he told us to go ahead and print it. What follows is that very letter.

Condiment Empire – A group of criminals have been terrorizing Genessia City with high powered backpacks filled with condiments. Severe and minor injuries have been caused, as well as someone’s hotdog being ruined. Catching and bring any of them to justice will earn you a level 2 payment.
Grey Poupon– Backpack filled with mustard. Calm and sophisticated. Likes to rob high class restaurants.

Nova City
Dronely Man – A man with modified drones has been conduction a series of heists throughout Nova City. Using drones equipped with lazers and automatic weaponry, he’s broken into vaults, heisted delivery trucks and it’s only expected that his crimes will escalate. Find and bring this man to justice and you will receive a level 3 Payment.
Everglade
Fear Factor – A man in Everglade has been going around inducing extreme bouts of fear in people. Accounts of the victims say the man comes up to them and hits them with a mist, once he does that, they live out their worst nightmares. Victims usually awake hours later, completely terrified and robbed of their things. A level 3 payment is being offered for anyone that can bring this man to justice.
Fayren
Angry Millinery – A hat-maker in Fayren has enchanted hats with his magic. When worn, it will drive a person mad and cause them to attack others. Though while wearing the hat, they are also subject to the whims of the hat-maker. A level 3 Payment is being offered to anyone that can bring him in.
Attleton
Nail In The Coffin - A Carpenter in Attleton has gone on a killing spree. People have been found murdered in their homes, killed by power tools. However previously damaged parts of their home appeared to have been fixed after the person was killed. A level 2 payment is being offered for anyone that brings them to justice.

Puzzling Heist - A bounty has been placed on the Puzzler by every city. If you can figure out where he's going to strike and stop him, you'll earn yourself a level 3 payment.

My people in Fayren, surely you have noticed the amount of death being caused to nature and the surrounding wildlife. It doesn’t take much thought to realize that what is behind the deaths in the area is a magic user. They not only seek to make your lives miserable, but the lives of even the smallest creatures. We’ve seen this before. The history books have spoken before of the mage Kaleth. A man that lived well beyond the years that any normal human could hope to live. And how did he accomplish this? By leeching life. He would leech it from men, women, children, even nature itself. The sort of death now is the death that was seen in his wake. Perhaps what is happening now is his second coming, however it should be even clearer now how much of a danger magic poses to not only yourselves, but your surroundings as well. But you needn’t worry. Our crusade will make all magic extinct in the city of Fayren. It’s only a matter of time. |

The residents of Everglade have been stirring lately about being treated differently. It's not your typical full blooded werewolf or vampire. No it's those people like to call Halfers, or Halfings. Those who are part human and part something else are usually what are considered.
One unknown woman had been stirring them up by claiming that they are being treated like lower class citizens because they aren't pureblooded. Her speech was as follows:
'We have been pushed down for so long, made to work as slaves, made to think we are nothing but trash! Something people can use and abuse because they think they are so much better than us. Vampires, werewolves, demons, angels, even humans think they are better than us. But I say no more! I say we need to show the world what we truly are capable, that we are just as good as them.'
This comes after assassinations of various high ranking officials who all have slaves of Half Blood and have thought to have been killed by a group only know as the 'Gray Feather Guild'

Title: Controversial New Guardian Policies Bring Nova City Safety into Question
Info: Weiss Schnee, current Nova City Guardian, has begun a program that has so far allowed three criminals to be permitted to roam the city without fear of repercussions for their crimes. This controversial act has some citizens concerned and others giving their nods at the new approach.
"She's putting us all in danger by letting scum roam free around the city. I don't care what they did, crimes are crimes. You can't just go pardoning them all willy-nilly!" one Nova City citizen and business owner, Jordan Nichols had to say. A number of residents seem to agree, but the other side of the story seems to see a different perspective.
"The people she pardoned- one was a seventeen year old boy or something, wasn't it? I don't know the details of it, but condemning a kid like that without giving him a second chance seems like it'd be just as bad as that other thing she was accused of last month- you know, when she put that headhunt out for the other guy she pardoned! Torchmick and his girlfriend or something like that.." Samira Parker, local MD, pointed out, "Anyway, a bunch of people were talking about how she was condemning people without giving them their second chance. Sounds to me like Guardian Schnee learned from her mistake and people are still giving her flack for it!"
With such a controversial decision made by the young Guardian, the Genessia Tribune needed to do some further digging. Interviewing Weiss Schnee herself seemed like the thing to do, and she had this to say:
"I was elected because I promised to find ways to prevent crime and deal with problems in ways beyond inciting and enacting violence reactively to problems. I'm not going to tell you whether or not you think I'm right to do this, but I stand by it. Progress and change don't happen without taking risks. This 'program' as you called it is still in what you might call a pilot stage though, so believe me when I say this isn't some free-pass to invite criminals to Nova City."
Guardian Schnee did not share when or if she would be offering the same deal to criminals outside of her world, but mentioned that she was only capable of pardoning crimes committed in Genessia's cities and upholding the law as it stands in Nova City. More on this story as it unfolds, but the whole world is sure to be watching to see if second chances are really worth it or if Nova City's Ice Queen is in for a the cold shoulder this summer when re-election season comes around.
