ACTION, OTA: Aphrodite's Love Matching & Arcade
[ Emerald is making no effort to hide herself. She never got a criminal record in Genessia or any of its cities. There's no evidence to prove she did, so even if she'd been on the bad peoples' side at home, there was nothing anyone could do as long as she kept her nose clean. (Or at least prevented anyone from seeing her get it dirty.) In order to keep up the image, she had taken over as matchmaker at Aphrodite's.
That hadn't lasted long before all of the lovesick morons had made her want to lose her lunch, so she was making an amendment to the allowances to come visit her in the "Love Matching office." Namely, the door was kept locked unless someone submitted a filled out contract of Emerald's own making.

She was fairly certain that would keep out anyone who wasn't serious, and anyone who was serious deserved her intentionally terrible matchmaking skills. Try and catch her while she's filling the little tray outside of the door with blank copies? Or perhaps you're going to try to get her to unlock the door? ]
TEXT, Mercury
Save me from this awful place. I'm dying. This was the worst idea I've ever had.
TEXT, OTA
These phones are terrible. Who only loads up a phone with Candy Crush and doesn't give us anything else to do? What's the point of having these things if they're just wasting pocket space most of the day?
If anyone here is holding back on app-making skills, shame on you.

action
Oddly enough, when he looked around he didn't see too many people. The ones he did see were engrossed in their game and he knew about creeping up on gamers when they didn't want to be disturbed. He wanted to ask if there were any bakeries around. Ryou hadn't had his favorite dessert in quite some time. He spied a pair of stairs. Where did that lead?
Curiosity killed the nerd.He made his way up wondering what the deal with the heart motif was and cautiously poked him head around the corner. "Um, sorry to bother you, but is there a bakery nearby anywhere?"He really hoped he wouldn't have to hop cities, though the way his sweet tooth was acting up he would. No, Ryou did not read any signs. One track mind when the kid is hungry for sugar.]
action
She held out one of the papers she was setting up to him. ]
My contract says I can't talk to people unless they sign this, or to tell them as much.
[ it was complete bullshit, but itw ould probably get her out of the conversation. ]
Re: action
That's a weird way to do business. Is it like one of those places that make their workers sell discount cards or magazine subscriptions and get on their case if they don't reach a quota? A friend of mine worked for a place like that.
[His violet eyes scan the paper with uncertainty. But he hasn't read too much of it yet. Does he need to really read all of this? He's starving. And he doesn't want his stomach to growl in front of some girl he never met.]
action
She shrugged and held out a pen. ]
Re: action
U-um...what kind of contract is this? [The hearts make sense now. And suddenly he wants to run.
CryingPossibly screaming.]Sell him a sad enough story Emerald and you might still sucker him into it.action
[ She actually sounds like she's passionate about it, from the look in her eyes, to the way she clenches her fist. ]

Re: action
Re: action
Only what your female classmates will be stuck in perpetually because you are scared of them, Ryou.[The silver-haired boy looks mystified. It doesn't sound horrible. After all, he'd fought so hard just to have friends.]
action
It's a tragic place in which someone likes a person, but that person only thinks of them as a friend and has never even considered romance an option. Don't tell me you've never heard of it, you're probably one of its perpetrators..
Re: action
He blinks and looks slightly mortified.]
I....
[Well the girls did make a fan club for him. But surely none of them like him, they knew him all of five seconds! He can't recall having shot down anyone because no one confessed to him. Unless his other self did and the idea of having someone confess to the thief is slightly horrifying, considering their fate might be worse than the 'friend zone' depending on how much they annoyed him.
He feels slightly sick.]
...wouldn't do that. I don't think I did.
[It sounds lame even to him.]
action
[ She's going to come up with a stereotyped scenario and accuse him of it anyway. He seems like the pretty boy type. ]
Re: action
Though he has to admit, at Domino he's generally well liked. Though when people don't have terrible things happen to them when they are around you anymore that helps your chances.
But girls, in his world anyway, seemed to always take to him right away even though he was so shy he never spoke to them much.]
Well...I did have a fan club, actually. But I didn't want it! It was embarrassing, really, I didn't do anything to deserve that kind of attention. [How did she know? Is there something about himself he's not aware of? Did he do something to paint himself as someone who looks like they enjoy forcing rejection on others?]
But no one confessed to me. [Because you never met with any of the secret admirers that left you letters, Ryou!]
action
[ There are plenty of ways she can twist this. ]
Re: action
Did he freeze out someone who may have genuinely been trying to get to know him? He looks at his feet, looking slightly miserable.]
I don't remember. [He admits this softly. Poor possible girls he's slighted...]
action
[ Emerald pats his back comfortingly, then holds out the contract again. ]
I'll help you make up for it.
Re: action
He blinks at the piece of paper.]
H-how will that help? No one in this world likes me like that. [
But you're captain oblivious, so how would you know?If talking to girls is hard, dating some stranger he didn't know was terrifying.]action
Re: action
Suppose someone does have those kinds of thoughts about him, though? Does he want to find out this way? That's silly, though. The people here barely know him. So what is he risking? In fact, people here hardly had the reaction to him that people had back at home. Probably because so many people here were attractive themselves.
He pens his name feeling a little more assured.]
Well. I highly doubt it. No one here knows me. But if you think it helps anything, I don't see the harm.
What have I done?
action
Great. I need to ask you a few questions then, just so I can find the best match, okay? Come into my office.
Re: action
Oh Ryou...Now he's kind of afraid. But it's too late.]action
[ Or else she'd just be giving everyone who hits on her to him.
..Eh, not a half bad idea. Too late now though. ]
Re: action
Sounds like a game almost. It also sounds like a lot of work. You must like your job.
action
[ It really isn't since she's just talking to people and then arbitrarily picking, even if she says otherwise. ]
I love it. Matchmaking just makes me feel like I'm doing right in the world. [ A soft smile paints her lips. ]
Re: action
It is hard to find a place where you fit in the world. More power to you if you find it and you can make a career out of it. [He gives a shy smile in return.] I'm about to open my own business soon.
