It's unclear what is causing this.
In Fayren, people are forced into costumes.
At night, in Genessia City, monsters are attacking people.
In Nova City, people are transforming into different creatures.
I'm not certain what's happening in Attleton. It hasn't been explained well to me. Something about fear? I did not understand.
