[There's the sound of someone running. It's not night, so he's not being chased by monsters, he's just exercising and clearing his head. He stops, a little breathless and speaks aloud to himself.]

Oh hey, it's the twenty-fifth!

[There's a pause as he pulls out his phone to take a selfie, and there's a camera shutter noise as he does.]

There! Birthday picture!

[He sounds cheerful.]

Happy Birthday! I don't know who you are, but it's always a nice surprise to celebrate one's birthday.

Why are you running?

.......also where are you staying, I'm baking a cake. [There's a slight blush, and a mild scowl.] That way you don't need to get one on your own.

[Something about using the phone seems to make girls talk to him, and he didn't even know people were listening. Well. That's embarrassing. He's sort of blushing.]

Thank you! Hadn't realized the date. [A pause.] Oh. I'm Prompto Argentum! Hi.

[He lets out a surprised yelp, because he's not expecting someone to come up behind him, much less when he's doing something particularly silly.]

I-ah-um...[His brain is trying to catch up. He clears his throat, blush spreading through his cheeks.] Thank you.

[Yeah that's not awkward at all.] Just running to work out. Gotta keep fit and everything, r-right?

[He takes a breath. She must think he's an idiot.]

Oh no. Really. You don't need to do that.

[She DOES think he's an idiot, but then again, she thinks MOST people are idiots... also she's slightly shocked that he actually isn't bad to look at in person. For some reason, this annoyed her.]

Well you're working out already, so it's not like you have to worry about getting fat for eating cake ONCE... on your BIRTHDAY. I haven't celebrated a birthday in years. Whatever. Just accept the gift I'm offering.

[She's just going to roll her eyes and cross her arms.]

[He smiles a little, shuffling nervously, he really does try to watch what he eats.]

I don't usually do anything either, really.

[Prompto smiles.]

I took a picture that's all I was going to do.

And you looked like a teenager doing it, so are you going to take me up on that offer or not?

[Hey now, he doesn't look like he did as a teenager, he spikes his hair now!]

Uh, well, okay. It's very nice of you.

[It would be rude to turn her down again, if she's insisting and he doesn't really want to cause problems.]

Birthday picture. do you take pictures of everything?

[Give her a moment before she speaks again.]

Happy birthday, I guess. Though didn't know so didn't get you anything. [But she figured she should now anyway. gives her something to do.]

[Rapunzel doesn't even know you, but she figured she might as well say something.]

Do you always run with your device on?

[That was the first subject she figured to bring up at least.]

[It's honestly easier when he's not being looked at.]

Yeah I do! Photography is my hobby! [He lets out a nervous laugh.]

Oh, no no it's okay. I don't need anything!

[He laughs a little.]

If you don't mind me asking, how do you usually spend your birthday? I'd love to year about your traditions.

[It's kind of embarrassing getting caught out like this, but he's decided to roll with it.]

Oh, well I'm not really the guy to ask. I don't really do much.

I'm fairly certain my birthday has pass since my arrival but there was never time to do anything. My father sometimes made me small gifts but it wasn't anything formal.

I'm sure it's different in other places.

Yeah, well I think most kids would have birthday parties, and cake and stuff. I just didn't really do that. My parents weren't really around.

I've never had a birthday party.

It was always just me and my father.

[She supposes they are normal for him but then not since he hadn't gotten a chance to have them.]

That sounds pretty nice!

[It's probably a nice memory.]

It's good that you got to celebrate with him anyway, even if there's no party.

Yes. I wouldn't be who I am if not for him.

[Belle pauses, unsure what else to say.]

Oh, uh, okay. Well, I guess it'd be nice to have friends around. That would be good. Everything else is just extra.

A lot of people seem to somehow accidentally turn it on. I mean makes sense if you have your hand on it since you need that to turn it on in the first place.

That's nice, taking lots of memories.

[It was something she is used to, people taking pictures.]

Still going to do it.

It's probably when I took a picture of this really cute puppy to put on my phone!
