Action - Pan's Grocery
[Takeru was more than happy when he first got the job, after all, it meant that he could work and at least earn a living. He knew he could have looked for a roommate and maybe get the help that way, but he hadn't been sure if right now that would have been a good idea.
But working at the grocery store wasn't going to be that bad? All he had to do as ring up peoples purchases which were easy enough with a smile and the charm he was good at. When he didn't need to do that, he found himself cleaning up the aisles from messes such as tomato sauce having fallen and broken on the floor to something he didn't even want to think about. But he cleaned it regardless.
The thing that got to him, however, was when people had complaints. Some were actually a good thing to complain about and he worked on helping the customer if they accidentally got the wrong thing, or something had expired and they could prove they got it that day or the day before. The complains that got to him were the ones that in his mind were pretty dumb. He would smile, keeping the charm up as he talked to them.
He really both liked and disliked the job.]
Action - Moonbucks
[When Takeru wasn't at Pan's he was at Moonbucks as a part-time barista, leaning something new and really enjoying himself. He wasn't the best, but as the day went on he was slowly learning to do better each time, even though on the ever odd occasion he might get a complaint about it being too hot. Have a coffee you need? Be greeted by Takeru with a sweet smile.]
Hello and welcome to Moonbucks, may I take your order?

[Takeru didn't really have much when he moved from the commons to his new place. It was cheap and something he could afford and still have some money to spare. It was fine for him. He figured he would buy more clothes and such the longer he stayed here against his will. But as he finally took his hat off after a long day, he laid down on the bed, switching the feed on.]
I have a... unusual question. I am slowly finding out that people can complain about the weirdest things like oranges being too small. Is something like odd complaints something that people find in other jobs? And are oranges too small, or are they just right? The people need to know.

[So sayeth the wolf-eared girl.]
[ Video ]
You're workin at Pan's Grocery now, aren't you.
video;
[He knows they aren't actually oranges but tangerines, but this was something he had experienced at his job.]
[ Video ]
Re: video;
[After all, some people prefer smaller fruits, so tangerines would be the perfect size for those people.]
[ Video ]
Sounds like what you're gettin from the customers is pretty normal.
[ Video ]
[Which now he is not sure if he's still 14 or 15 because of the small time jump it seemed.]
That's normal? A woman complaining that oranges were too small and I am sure she had tangerines. Explaining that I guess is normal too? I have a lot to learn.
[ Video ]
... Are you required to go to school, here? Dunno if that'd help you or not, if you weren't.
[ Certainly, employers in Iwatodai expected Shinjiro to have been in class, rather than working. And, you know, have a home he could keep a uniform and regular showers in. ]
Really, really normal. Just wait til you gotta explain why meat products ain't vegetarian. Or what 'On Sale for 5 Bills and Up' actually means. Or, well. Lotsa things.
This is just the start.
video;
[He was enjoying this to an extent, but at the same time it wasn't much of a fun experience having to try and explain these things as part of his job. He was meant to be a cashier, not customer service.]
[ Video ]
[Since he was a middle school student, not a high school one.]
I think I'll be close to that one very soon and I don't work in that area. I think they see me as someone they can complain to and not expect me to actually... tell them the answers.
[ Video ]
So maybe they just don't got a good system to keep track of you guys yet.
[ He's not going to suggest Takeru go to school, however. Seemed like a waste of time - since time was frozen on their home worlds, it's not like he was missing out on preparing for his future, or something. ]
Well, I don't got the most inviting face, and I got the same kinda thing. Maybe more.
I think people just think it's part of our job, to hear all their whining.
[ Video ]
They just didn't think of everything.
[Part of the job. Well, he didn't know what he was getting into when he first applied. But then again, it was still a job and one he needed to be able to afford anywhere and still have some money extra.]
Maybe, but at least it's not everyone and I get some interesting stories about it.
[ Video ]
[ He shrugs - ] I can only guess, anyway.
[ Shinjiro nods. ]
That's true enough - I've gotta ton of stories, and I only worked there for 'bout a month or so.
[ Video ]
[This woman is going to keep doing this weekly he knows it. Such a fun time he will have.]
[ Video ]
I'll keep an ear open, see if anybody's hirin other part-timers 'round your age.
Maybe it won't be better, but least when you're tired of this place, you'll have other options.
[ Video ]
[He does find making coffee and such to be fun though.]
Until then I shall smile and be nice to all customers.
[ Video ]
[ Both with finding something full time, at his age - and, obviously, with pretending to be nice during the stupidest questions. ]
