[At a small venue in Attleton, it seems like a small modified theatre that is nevertheless packed. The Doctor is on stage with a small band behind him, tuning his guitar.
After a moment he looks up and gestures and an image appears on the screen behind him.
He looks at the house now, light glinting off his sunglasses and grins]
I'd like to thank you all for coming. You probably don't even know who I am, but with any luck, you'll remember some part of my name.
How are you doing, Little Attleton?
[there is a half hearted cheer and he half laughs]
Me too.
[he shifts his weight and grins]
Let's get things started.
["Bad Reputation" is first. As the opening noises begin, a blue police box appears on the screen. As the song plays, pictures of the universe flicker about it rapid fire. He finishes the song with a flare and grins]
This next one is just a little something for someone special-- they know who they are.
[a wink.
He begins "Are You Gonna Be My Girl", singing with energy, on the projecter, space is flying by with the police box image spinning small and crazily through it. The song is sung normally except with 'curled blond' instead of long brown]
He cools down a bit, plucking out a little riff and bobbing his head. I'm going to bring it back down just a little. Have you ever met someone who just has their way with everyone whether they know it or not?
I mean [he grins] Other than me.
Well, watch out, Attleton, Nova, Fayren and anywhere else with ...well anyone generally. [He points at the camera
And then begins to play: "The Boys Are Back in Town". The blue box just sits at the corner and a picture of a handsome and perhaps familiar man.
At the end of the song, he salutes]
Going to bring it down now for just a moment. [the music changes to something softly jazzy and the image on the projector changes to a softly swirling nebula with the box turning in the center]
Yes, not rock and roll. It's a shock, I know, but a little culture wouldn't kill you. Anyway, a classy lady deserves a classy song. Don't you think?
[after a sip of water he pushes the guitar behind him and begins to sing: "Have You Met Miss Jones?". He's not the best crooner and his voice isn't as rich on this as it should be but there's definitely a lot of heart. ... More than you'd probably think on first glance. At the instrumetnals he kind of sways and snaps his fingers with the beat...]
Before we go for about oh, fifteen minutes... let's pick things up just a bit.
[He begins: "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)". The blue box is flying through space again though at a more sedate pace.
At the end of it he bows and lifts his hand. He takes his water and walks off stage]
[Intermission]
[The Doctor spends his fifteen or so minutes back stage, ankles crossed on the dressing table and drinking water. He's not even breaking a sweat though looking a bit pensive as he does. He's not like to answer any messages -- or if he does it will be brief though he will receive a visitor or two for a moment]
[As he comes back to the stage he looks a bit posher, with a vest and jacket, the glint of a watch chain hanging from one of the pockets]
The back half of this is going to be a little different-- but let's start with a classic. Well, classic for Earth anyway in certain time period. Anyway.
[he takes a drink of water and makes a face, seeming to consider something before nodding and pointing at the projector. The universe, such as could be represented by limited tech, appears once more and the blue box floating through it.
Though this time there appears to be some writing on the side of the box. Something about a 'bad wolf' and he begins to play "Summer of '69" He lets that settle for a moment, a faint smile on his face and he shakes his head, chuckling at something only he knows.]
This-- well, don't get your hands in a flail, it's just a song. And aside from, well, certain things, doesn't mean anything but a hope. Alright? [this may seem a little strange, but then, he's talking to someone speicifically.]
[after that spiel is over he begins to play: Amy. He sings it mostly as it is, except mudstains instead of bloodstains because there's no reason to get anyone too excited. It's just a song. No spoilers whatever. Shut up.
In any case a regular blue box, looking the same as it ever did, flies through space and twirling streams of cosmic gasses]
[when that is over he frowns, looking at the floor, playing a sad song and then, without preamble, launching into "Whatsername"
When he finishes the silence goes on a bit longer than it probably should, then he looks up and quirks a smile.]
It's funny, though because, even when you forget so much, more than you ever would ever think you would-- something in you remembers. [he taps the center of his chest with a finger]
All it takes is bringing it to the light again. And until then, you just have to hold on to what you've got.
[after that and another drink of water, he plays: Pale Blue Eyes", the blue box beside a small blue star that flickers intermittently.
When that is done he smiles and spreads his hands.]
So, we're almost at an end here. Hope you've been entertained. I usually just play in the background but sometimes you got to get up and out there. And, oh, I plan to. So long as I'm here. Might as well, right?
And you might not know who I am, but at least you can remember one thing, of everything else....
[he turns, back to the camera and does something around his neck before running a comb through his wild white hair. When he turns back, he's wearing a bowtie with his hair in a kind of 1950s look]
I've been expermienting with back combing, what do you think?
[only it's a lie, this is a one and one time only thing. However, he still makes it look good.]
Now then, Little Attleton. Allow me to rock you out.
[He begins to play: "It's My LIfe" The blue box coming front and center again and pulsing on the beat before the singing starts and pictures of various faces flash on the screen. including this one. He might have nicked the pictures from River before starting this, but hopefully she'll be pleasently surprised.]
[At the end he bows again before rising and making double peace signs. The crowd, at least, seems pleased]
Thank you, Little Attleton! You've been wonderful! Everyone else? I'll see you on the flip side.
[finger guns at the screen. The stage goes dark, there is a kind of grinding, wheezing noise and when the lights come back up he's gone.]
