[A woman with long, wavy white hair appears. It...kind of looks like Winter? But it can't be. For one thing, she's smiling. For another, that's definitely a smudge of dirt on her left cheek. She's got the same poise, though.]

Good evening.

[And the same voice. Mostly. This lady sounds a great deal warmer.]

Some of you may have noticed some...abnormalities of late. Given that the city experiences these things now and then, and that the circumstances are far beyond anyone's control, I wish my recruits to know that this week of training has been pushed back to a later date. Once things are back to normal, we'll resume.

[Her smile softens.]

You've all worked hard and endured a great deal. You've certainly earned the time off.

[She gives her head a faint shake to toss back the wave of snowy hair that keeps drifting over her right eye.]

For that matter, I think I deserve a little time off as well. It's been a long time since I've stretched my legs, and there are many of you I'd like to spend some time with getting to know better, if we're going to become better friends. Contact me, if I haven't managed to get hold of you first.

[She reaches for the 'end feed' button, but hesitates abruptly.]

--Oh, one last thing. Whoever sent the little green plants? I loved them. The gesture was very kind, and I hope your week gets better.

[Winter (???) winks, and ends the feed.]

My week improved, thank you. I'm glad you liked the plants, I wasn't sure if you'd find them cute or childish.

Ha ha...! They were cute, Don't worry. And thank you, that's very kind. It's not very practical on the battlefield, but I like how it looks.

[She brushes some of it over her shoulder before resting her elbows on the table, chin atop her folded hands.]

We don't see many plants in Atlas. It's very cold, and covered in snow for the majority of the year, so flowers can be rare and expensive. How did you know I liked them so much?

[It's fair to think that Winter just doesn't do anything domestic or normal, like shop for groceries. Just catching her out of uniform either means you crept into her apartment during the brief window where she dresses for bed, sleeps, and immediately resumes wearing the uniform within ten minutes of waking; or that she's bathing. Either way, it probably isn't happening.]

[But she does stock up on a few things at home -- tea, bread, butter, milk -- when she has the opportunity to do so. Most of her meals, however, are the dried and tasteless rations of a soldier.]

[Having a week of only half-duties to accommodate a change that everyone else can see but she can't means she needs to eat her own meals. She knows how to cook, she made a point of learning almost right away when she left her home. It was something she'd always wanted to try, but was never allowed, for that was 'servant work.']

[She likes to think she's become quite good at 'servant work.' Her cart holds a variety of fresh fruit and greens (quite the rarity to her during the winter season), some white fish fillets, a small sack of good rice, and she's even indulged with a bar of dark chocolate and almonds tossed in there.]

[She turns her cart down the baking aisle since she's woefully deprived of spices in her apartment, only to jump when the front of her cart clangs noisily with the jarring impact against someone else's cart.]

Good gracious, I'm so sorry--

[Then she sees the owner of the cart, and her surprise turns to warmth.]

Well now! If it isn't my bold friend. I do apologize.

[It's so unexpected to see Weiss to cheerful. It makes him smile because for once she really looks truly happy. But it also makes him wonder what caused it.]

Oh, perhaps for the next present I can find you something battle related. I'll keep that in mind. You are always working so hard.

Sorry to hear that. For a long time I lived surrounded by snow and mountains, I missed flowers a lot. I thought they could make a nice present, they're good to lift the spirits.

Please, you don't need to get me anything.

[She flicks her hand at the screen with an 'oh stop' gesture.]

I make good money as the captain of the royal guard. If there's anything I need, I just buy it. Knowing someone is thinking about me is good enough, so I appreciate it. Besides, it's hard to keep getting gifts when I can't return the favor.

Your poem was lovely, by the way.

[The Star Trekless house is back up to two, meaning they've gone through food at a faster rate. With Kirk taking care of some problem with eels (Spock hadn't fully been paying attention), it was up to him to run to the store. He was in a mood for some comfy clothes today, though, so he'd rummaged Kirk's closet for a nice hoodie. To top it off, his hair is not painted on but actually styled for once. You'd think he'd be out of his element, looking like that, but he seems very comfortable as if this is an everyday thing with him. Which, to him, it is.

Even though he was raised on Earth, he grew up on a mostly-vegan diet since his father was still around and refused to eat animals and their products due to his Vulcan values. As such, Spock's cart is filled with fresh produce, some beans, rice, almond milk, tofu, and some meat substitutes. It's not that he doesn't enjoy meat, but with the way Sarek spoke of consuming it, he just feels guilty when he does.

He's going around a corner he can't see around when his cart impacts Winter's. He looks pleasantly surprised to see her there, and actually lets out a chuckle at her reference to their first meeting.]

Captain Schnee! So sorry about that; it was my bad. I should've made sure it was clear before I turned. How have you been?

I've been well, thank you. Reduced duties this week. It's nice to have some time to myself for a change.

[She nudges her cart to the side to clear his path, but she's also content to park it right next to him so they can have a nice conversation ~~and block the aisle completely~~.]

And you can call me Winter. You were lying on top of me, after all. If that's not excuse enough to lose formalities, I don't know what is.

[Her grin is just a touch wicked, even if her lashes lower just slightly with a cool and collected gaze. She holds it there for a moment before her head tips toward his cart.]

You're vegetarian? I didn't know that. What a pity, I was about to invite you over to have dinner with me.

[Spock finishes turning his cart but parks it behind hers as to not block the aisle for the other passer-bys. His cheeks tinge the slightest of green when she mentions the situation in which they had first encountered one another. He still can't believe he would treat a lady in such a way. His mother would be appalled.]

I, um [what was the question?] Yeah, Vulcans, as it turns out, don't eat meat. I've had it a few times but I try to avoid it whenever possible.

[He hesitates at her offer, trying to figure out what the protocol was here before deciding to fuck it and do what he wanted. It's possible that she was just being polite but Winter seems to be into him, and he certainly wouldn't mind spending some of his free time with her. She's a very interesting individual.]

You could come home with me. [That came out wrong.] For dinner! You could come have dinner... with me. At my house. Or somewhere else if you're not a fan of vegetarian dishes. There are plenty of fine eateries in Genessia.

[Well. That went smoothly. Seriously, who even says "fine eateries?"]

[Winter doesn't dare let on how secretly delighted she is at seeing someone blush green. He'd told her that the difference in blood resulted in a more verdant hue, but she hadn't expected to see the results quite like this.]

[He's flustered. And he seems like he's as interested in her as she is in him.]

To your place? That would be...rather nice.

[And he is bold, asking her like this. That's enough to strengthen her curiosity. Yes, this is a fine thing indeed.]

It's been a long time since I've had someone else cook for me. Tell you what...

[Winter leans over her cart, tugging at a few of the items.]

Why don't I take care of the salad and the rice?

[She straightens again, holding her chocolate bar between her fingers, and winks.]

I'll even bring dessert.

[He's only being bold because she had been. He probably wouldn't have worked up the courage to ask her otherwise. Human popular culture focuses so much on dating and love that it's a high pressure thing, and Sarek hadn't bothered making him fully embrace his Rules of Logic if he was going to be raised as a human so he's not as adept at handling it as he might have been had he, I don't know, been born and raised on Vulcan.]

I suppose I can agree to those terms, though I'd rather you not have to pay for a thing if you're to be my guest. [Date? He's not sure, really, but it looks like it might be if that saucy wink is anything to go by.

There's no way she knows what that chocolate will do to him since he hadn't mentioned it when they were discussing differences. He never thought it would be of importance but now...]

Actually, that's... [You know what? If he's riding this train to hell he might as well take it all the way. Can't act illogically and then suddenly snap back to logic, right?] That sounds great.

[He reaches over to a stand on the ground and grabs a bottle of wine. It may not be the best of quality, but it's not like he knows any better. Besides, this is just to even the playing field. That way, they can both choose to get intoxicated should the night head that way.]

I hope red is okay?

I... are you feeling alright, Winter?

[ Weiss doesn't quite know what to make of this. ]

[There's something secretive in her smile as her head tilts, just slightly, at his choice of wine. As someone who's had more than her fill of white all of her life...]

Red would be lovely.

[Winter doesn't indulge in the drink as much as her dear instructor, and she prefers the hard liquor as opposed to the fancy bubbling reds, whites, and roses that were served at every insufferable formal function she'd been forced to attend in her youth. He might not know it, but she prefers that he picked something that isn't so fancy.]

[She drops the chocolate back into her cart. If she's going to meet him for a date, then she needs to wear something more appropriate than her silvery mesh shirt and leather vest.]

What day, what time, and what place shall I meet you?

Never better, Weiss.

[At least the little sister is more accustomed to seeing Winter's less reserved side as well as her smiles, but this? It's definitely new.]

Actually, I was wondering if you'd like to do a little shopping with me. I have a date and I need something a little more suitable than...this.

[She gestures at her traveling clothes, which, while comfortable and well-suited to her travels, are still a little worn and hardly the sort of thing she should wear to a romantic dinner.]

[ It's not that she doesn't believe her, it just...

She hasn't exactly impressed many people to Weiss's knowledge. Who on earth? But Winter wouldn't lie about that. ]

May I ask who with?

One of your GSRF teammates, as a matter of fact. Spock.

[She's not squealing over it or exhibiting signs of over-excitement, but there's definitely a healthy bit of color in her cheeks, just enough to indicate that she's actually interested in pursuing this.]

Do you know him very well?

Not.. well.

[ But, what she does know regarding Spock...

This does make a certain amount of sense.

[Because they're both abysmally boring, secretly hot-tempered, and eschew emotions whenever possible?]

We had quite the first encounter when I mistook him for a spy. I'll have to tell you about it later.

So, are you free? We're meeting tonight, so I'm on my way to the strip mall right now.

[Have no fear, Winter: at $7.99 a bottle, supermarket wine is far from fancy.

Though if she makes it known he'll just borrow some of Kirk's booze. He probably won't mind. And it's not like he can't just replace it.

She poses an excellent question. He hadn't really thought of when, but now that he does, he's afraid that if he gives too much time she'll back down or he'll switch back into his logic mode and chicken out. So there's really only one solution.]

I'm free tonight if you are. Say 7 o'clock? My place? [Wait she doens't know where that is. Why is he so bad at this? He'll need to ask Kirk how he's so suave.] I have a house in Genessia City.

Seven. All right.

[She grins, tucking a thick lock of her white hair behind her ear as her gaze flicks from his eyes to his mouth and back again. It might be flirting. ...It's definitely flirting.]

Text me the address, I'll be there on time.

[She touches his arm as she guides her cart back into the aisle.]

Take care until then, Mr. Spock.

[The blush is back but this time it's accompanied by a real smile. Oh, they're back to titles now, are they? He'll aim for a lighter one than Captain this time, though, to try to keep it on a flirty note.]

I'll see you tonight, Miss Schnee.

[As soon as she's out of sight, he's racing to the check out. He needs to get home and get things ready. He should probably tell Kirk about his plans for the evening too. Shit, in all his excitement he had forgotten about his housemate. Hopefully he doesn't have big plans tonight.

He also sends Winter a quick text with his address and a winky face once he's back in his car. Time to get this show on the road!]

[As she wheels her cart away, there's definitely a little bit of a sassy bounce in the movement of her hips. She doesn't look back, the effect would be spoiled if she caught him looking. She'll just assume he saw it, liked it, and will be thinking about it until they meet again.]

[A winky face! Well that settles it, he likes her. She'll send a ♥ back in return.]

[At 6:58, there's a knock at the door. The snow is falling in thick, fat flakes, clinging to the soft waves of her ivory hair and the warm hooded cloak of forest green. She might have gone shopping for a baby blue angora sweater and a long black skirt to match, but she's not buying a new coat for just one night. The wool cloak is comfortable and has served her well for many years.]

[Cradled in the crook of her arm are two bowls sealed with tin foil, containing the salad and the rice pilaf with almonds and raisins that she promised to make. The chocolate bar is in a plastic bag on top of the totem pole of bowls (the totem bowl?). She clears her throat and sweeps her hood back now that she's safely sheltered by the porch awning.]

[Spock has been triple checking that everything is perfect and in place when he hears the knock at the door.]

Just a second!

[He runs over to the master bedroom to let Kirk know that Winter is here so wish him luck and then makes a quick stop in the foyer to check himself out in the mirror. He cleans up pretty nicely, if he does say so himself. He runs his hand through his hair one more time to make sure everything is just right, takes a deep breath, and opens the door.]

Hi, Winter, come on in. Oh, let me take those for you. [He lifts the totem bowl from her arms and brings them into the kitchen before returning to her side.] May I take your coat, er, cloak from you?

[Winter would have to agree. The fact that he changed at all is a good sign; the fact that he classed it up with a suitcoat, even with the gray jeans, is the perfect amount of 'looking nice but not TOO nice' for a first date.]

[She also makes a note to pay attention to his feet so she knows whether or not she should remove the high-heeled mid-calf-height boots. How she can wear those and make it all the way here from Fayren without slipping and falling on her ass is a mystery indeed.]

How kind, thank you.

[She surrenders the bowls, reaching for the clasp of her cloak. But at his offer, Winter grins, flashing her teeth, and turns her back to him so he can do the honors.]

I didn't realize you were such a gentleman. You have a lovely house, by the way.

[When all of this has cleared up, regular Spock will be very confused where these grey jeans came from because they're definitely not his. But that's a mystery for another week.

He smiles as she turns around and steps behind her so her back is pressing against his torso. His fingers make short work of the clasp.]

Thank you; I'm happy to give you the grand tour. We have a few until dinner is ready.

[ He slips it off of her and hangs it in the closet, making no move to remove his shoes. When he turns back, he gets his first good view of what Winter is wearing. Remembering what Kirk told him, he decides to give it a go.]

You look [Beautiful. Lovely. Great.] Wow.

[ She was thinking more irreparably repressed, professional, military background, and care a lot more than they like to let on. But Weiss may have a bias that gives that a now positive spin. ]

You're going to shop at a strip mall.

I.. suppose. It'll just be the two of us, won't it?
