ACTION

[The heavy veil of sleep lifts as Steve presses his palm against his forehead. A low groan echoes through the otherwise empty cave as the ex-Avenger pushes himself up to a seated position. The box on his chest tumbles to the ground, making a very loud splash in the water that surrounds his unexpected resting place. Steve forces his senses to focus, his eyes narrowing at the pods, the bay and the exit that softly glowed from the mid-day sun. He moves cautiously as he rises to his feet, reaching down to grab the box that had been on his chest a few moments before.

He sorts through the contents of the box curiously as he steps towards the mouth of the bay. He isn't expecting the recording but after being friends with Stark he isn't surprised by it either. He pauses and listens in full before turning to grab some of the brochures that the young hologram had indicated. It is a good thing that they're prepared though this is all very worrying.

His thoughts linger on different pieces of information, repeating them in his head until they're memorized. 'The necklace indicates who is real and who isn't?' Steve isn't sure what that means. He eyes his necklace before shoving it into his front pants pocket. He isn't a fan of jewelry but it shouldn't be difficult to keep the pendant on him. It is like a pair of dog tags.

From there Steve pulls out the map and heads towards the places that the young girl in the recording had suggested. There is a welcome center and it appears as if he's been given a temporary place to live. He needs to find out if anyone else is here though he isn't sure how to go about doing that.

Steve is hesitant on using the phone until he's had time to look over it properly. He has more than a few people he doesn't want to run into and there isn't any harm in being careful.]

ACCIDENTAL VIDEO

[Steve selects a temporary place to live and begins making plans. It isn't the first time he had to start from scratch but at least this time he knows what to do. He begins going through the information and items he'd been given before accidently pushing the phone onto the floor and effectively turning it on.

The video displaces the white ceiling and the edge of an old wooden coffee table.]

Law enforcement would be to ostentatious.

[A deep voice rings across the room in a hushed voice that suggested that Steve is talking to himself.]

I could draw cartoon characters at the park. Not sure if this city is that similar to New York. I don't think it'd get many tourist here.

[The voice might be familiar to some of those in Genessia. Either way, someone should tell the poor guy that he's publically broadcasting since it is obvious that he isn't aware.]

[It was day two for the android. The first day, he wondered around Genessia, to get an idea of the world or at least the feel of it. 17 was no stranger to alien worlds. Sure it was new to him but he didn't show the slightest phase or discomfort as he explored. If anything, 17 appeared to be a by standard walking on the side walk.

Today, it was another round trip plus the welcome center. 17 had a fresh shirt on, since his previous shirt was torn when he arrived to this world. Hands tucked in his pockets, 17 walked to some of the billboards and read from there. He didn't pay mind to the other newly arrival.]

[Gentle smile.] Have you tried a personality and career aptitude test yet?

I could use an assistant.

[mostly because he's tired of getting his own tea and not having someone to complain at that would cause retribution down the line. Besides which he has too many red bills and it's starting to irritate him how they pile up. It feels like he can't spend it as fast as he makes it.

How do people live like this?]

[Steve looks between the papers and his hands and the stranger who had come to read the billboards to his right. He hates looking like a tourist and hopes to rectify the situation as soon as he can.

He clears his throat before speaking to the boy, though he doesn't move his gaze away from the board.]

You just arrive here?

[Steve is sure that he'd seen another person but he wants to make sure there aren't any other ways to arrive, like a series of Bay's.]

[Oh no.

No.

No.

Crap.]

What?

[Steve looks over at the phone that's resting on the floor to see a young woman staring back at him. He feels his throat tighten nervously though there is no outward show of his discomfort.]

Looks like you caught me.

[Steve glances over at the phone to see the older man staring back at him. He places what he's been working on down and leans forward to pick up the video. He prefers to call if he's talking on the phone but since it appears as if he's started this then he'll leave it as it is.]

An assistant?

[That doesn't sound like anything Steve has done before.]

What would I be doing?

[He isn't sure that his skills align with those needed in an assistant but who knows. It's certainly inconspicuous.]

Oh, running errands, getting groceries, making tea, listening to me complain-- occasionally giving advice for me to blatantly ignore. Not asking about wpm or anything like that.

Hours negotiable, pay negotiable, can't say I won't roust you out of bed at three am because of one inane reason or another that will become clear later... But mostly just easy things.

[Steve smiles.]

I might have taken you up on that offer but I'm not great at half of those things and I think that's a quick way to get myself fired.

What is it that you do here?

Really? Oh well.

[he'd been hoping. He really had to advertise it somehow]

Oh, I teach, play concerts, have the occasional existential crises just for variety, the usual.

[GRINS.]

[JUST ENJOYING THE VIEW MENTALLY.] Mm-hm. Sorry, these devices aren't quite as good as Cybus industries'. Or Apple's iPhone, depending on your universe. They're fickle little things.

Honestly. I would suggest taking the artist route. I'm biased though because my dad's a cop. Do you really want that kind of stress in your life?

[It's a normal, ordinary day and he's content enough swinging from building to building, with his webbing and he spots a newcomer. He's totally got this.

He lands and raises his hand like he's going to say hello and offer help but he lets out a squeak because - oh my god it's Steve Rogers - and sure, he's war criminal and whatever but he's also freakin' Captain America and oops, last time they met he stole his shield.

That was pretty rude of him.]

Hi! [He squeaks a little bit and clears his throat, deepening it because, really he can handle not being a fanboy for five minutes] Do you need any help?

[Maybe he won't remember him and he won't be mad about the whole shield thing, right?]

[17 still kept his attention to the billboard, skimming through any information available. He replies while looking at the board as well.]

... Don't think you meant t'record this.

But. My friend's a cop. They could always use more help.

That's usual?

[He raises an eyebrow at the man.]

What is it that you teach?

[Steve lets out a short laugh as he awkwardly tries to hold the phone so that he can look and speak to the screen appropriately. This is why he prefers talking to people in person.]

Yes. I'm fine. A little surprised right now.

[Which is very obvious.]

I'll make a point not to drop my phone again. [At least not on accident.] Do these things turn on a lot?

I've never been able to avoid it.

[He laughs a little awkwardly. He now knows that his video has been on and has since managed to recover some decorum.]

I'll look into being an artist. [Of course if he's needed as Captain America he'll be there, just without his shield or his armor. He might have to remedy that though he isn't sure what state this city is in.]

What part of New York are you from?

[Steve turns at the familiar voice. He's surprised to see the spiderkid that Tony had recruited. It isn't bad though if Tony is here then it's not idea either.]

Hey, kid. [He sounds very relaxed.] Still doing that web thing?

[Yeah, he remembers you.]

I'm fine. Trying to lay low. I'm sure you understand.

[Shield thief.]

[Steve eyes the kid next to him. He must not be much of a talker.]

You looking for work too?

[Steve exhales sounding not only tired but very worn out.]

Yeah. I don't have much luck it seems.

Does this place need a lot of cops?

[He's read some of the events but they seem to be spread out fairly evenly.]

[He smiles, even though Steve can't see, he can probably hear it.]

Well you know how it is, doing spider things, it's totally in the name, right?

[Also it's pretty damn fun.]

Oh, right, yeah I know about that, kind of. If it helps, you're not in the same world you were before?

[He clears his throat.] I mean, I'm kind of a big fan.

[Huge fan.] But, uh, if you're okay then...

[Steve snickers softly. He doesn't consider him and Peter to be on opposite sides anymore, that fight is over and he's already made a point to tell Tony that he's going to be there for his friends.

Even the masked friends who he doesn't really know.]

What's that name again? Spiderman?

[He's just making sure he has it right.]

How long have you been here kid? Maybe you can show me around.

[Though he might ask him to get rid of the suit. It isn't exactly inconspicuous being bright red and blue.]

What place doesn't?

[ He shrugs ]

Even if there weren't no crime - and there is, trust me - there are always people gettin locked outta their cars, or kids who get lost from their folks.

[He thinks Steve is super cool, if Steve thought they were friends he'd probably die of excitement.]

Spider-Man! That's me! The friendly neighbourhood kind. [So they kind of decided, him and Tony that Queens seems like a good place for him to be is all.]

Not that long, maybe a month or so? But I can get around okay, I've seen everywhere! [Webslinging, it's a fast way to travel.] So, I can show you around, sure!

[Ding, ding, ding! He's still eyeing the billboard regardless.]

I am.

It seems the natural thing to do after being abducted to an alien world, isn't it.
