"Oh. Maybe you'll figure it out. I've been here for years and I could never find the answer to that. But I'm not as smart as other people. But they haven't figured it out either..."
She frowned for a moment before shaking her head, sending snowflakes from her hat. At least it wasn't anywhere near as cold as Fort Briggs. But still...
"Oh! Right! Coffee!" She reached down and took his hand, tugging him gently along. Likewise something slipped out of her sleeve and wrapped around his wrist. Firmly but not so strong as to limit his movement.
Oh great. Tentacles. Just what this day needed.
It was the same blue as that extra eye. and ended in a heart-shaped spade.
"You're gonna love the coffee. It's really good. There are a few places to get it but I know where the best is. There is a different best place for tea though. Luke owns that shop. He's really really nice. You would like him."
And she would just continue to chatter about places and people if he didn't stop her.
"Years?" Edward didn't think that sounded good, or encouraging, and as smart as he was, he was hardly the smartest person across whatever this place was, of all time. He was not so arrogant, especially when he'd done stupid things in his life.
In Fort Briggs, he had a winter coat on, for a start, so at the moment he felt the cold so much more sharply in Genessia.
He wasn't the type of person to be led by the hand or tentacle, so he jerked his right hand away. "I'm following." He stuffed his hands in his pockets. The last thing he needed was some kind of misunderstanding, not to mention his level of comfort with strangers didn't include light displays of affection.
Koishi paused when he pulled back, turning around in the air and tilting her head. "Oh... Okay then!" She didn't seem at all angry about his reaction at least, leading him from the bay to a corner cafe not too far from the bay.
She would have taken him to the cat's eye cafe but that was a bit far to walk in the snow for how Ed was dressed.
Once inside Koishi struggled to get the barista's attention before finally managing to order some hot spiced chai and a coffee. Both of which were brought over to wherever Edward decided to sit.
"Here you go Miser. Please don't freeze to death, okay?" She means well.
He wasn't expecting to wake up in the middle of winter, that was all. He walked along behind her without saying a whole lot, he was mostly wary of her and the area. His thoughts were racing.
"I won't freeze to death." He rolled his eyes a little. Well, Ed might, but he nodded to her. "Thanks for the coffee."
He proceeded to dump a bunch of sugar into it and took a sip.
Koishi sat down opposite him... Kinda. Her feet were on the chair and she was perched on the back. Clearly she liked being up high.
"It's just winter time. In the summer it's really hot instead." She took a long sip. "It's not so bad though. Compared to parts of the great underground or even the mountains back home this is comfortable for me. The underground is just colder and the mountains are windy."
Another long sip, nearly choking for a moment and sticking out her tongue as it was burned a little. "Ehh. Hot..." Koishi, don't try to gulp down hot beverages.
She recovered quickly though. "Is it not very cold where you come from Mister?"
"It was spring in Amestris." He waved his hand a little, as though he were dismissing the thought and sipped the coffee. He waited a moment, tasting it on his tongue. "Not bad."
"It gets colder in winter, but it's kind of warm in the South. I travel a lot, so it varies. It was a good temperature there."
Edward hummed, he'd need to get some winter clothes as soon as possible. The last thing he needed was his automail leeching his heat and giving him frostbite.

"I prefer coffee, so let's go there."
