Guys, look at this! I'm an action figure! And I come with a monster truck! I mean seriously, how cool is that?

So basically, toy company people? Thank you for helping fulfill one of my life's goals. You're all awesome.

[Some people would demand a cut of the merchandising. Lea is just having a nerdgasm. And is planning to buy the whole set of figures the first chance he gets.]

[Later, after calming down from said nerdgasm, Lea is taking Xion out Christmas shopping. The latest weirdness had somewhat derailed his plans to get a tree and decorations and that needed to change, stat. You might find them browsing at the Christmas tree lot, or in the decorations section of the department store, but wherever you find them Lea will be filled with Christmas cheer. And Xion probably with confusion.]

And speaking of confusion....

Xion was walking with him, not sure why they were heading out, but...she had decided she was going to try going out more, for his sake. So she went out with him when he asked her to, but the decorations and everything were confusing her. But the christmas tree lot would just stop her dead. Why were they looking at tree corpses?

And action figure. I read about it in the paper; they have a whole set of action figures of all the City Guardians and Deputy Guardians. And since I'm a Deputy Guardian...

[He holds the figure closer to the camera so Amy can get a good look.]

Ta-da!

"Okay. That's kind of neat." [A small smile, then she considered.] "Hey, you doing anything the 23rd?"

[The action figures certainly helped to bright Karla's days up a bit as well. She holds up a figure of herself, sliding her index finger through its hair and pulling it back out.]

Yes, they did a good job this year, didn't they? It seems they've captured my image pretty well...

[She especially likes how they did her hair. It seemed appropriate, since back home she was praised for her beauty along with her sword skills. Not that Karla considered herself vain by any means...]

[She does tilt her head at one of Lea's statements, though.]

Although...what was your life goal that was fulfilled with these little toys?

I should have mentioned that they make action figures based on us. I don't know why, but they do.

To have an action figure of myself, of course! I've... kinda wanted that since I was a kid. It's just one of those goals you set for yourself as a kid, and then forget about when you grow up and reality sets in. And that makes something like this happening that much more awesome!

Also, wait, they do this every year?

Nah, man if you'd mentioned it I wouldn't have been able to get this awesome surprise.

I'm so gonna get the whole set, though.

[Lea thinks a moment.]

Not unless some emergency comes up. Why?

[Not even Xion's usual confusion could dampen Lea's Christmas cheer.]

OK, since this is your first Christmas, you get to pick out the tree. Only stipulation is that it has to be able to stand up in our apartment without touching the ceiling.

Really? You wanted to have a toy version of yourself?

[Quite an odd goal to have, she thinks, but one she can't complain about if he had set this goal as a kid. It sounds like the kind of goal a kid would set.]

And yes, they do release these figures every year. Such as...

[She reaches off to the side and pulls the action figure of herself from the previous year into view.]

This is me from last year. While it may be odd to release these figures right before the elections, when we may lose our positions in a few short weeks...I suppose the timing would seem appropriate for Christmas...

"Apparently I'm hosting an exclusive, invitation only party. Feel free to drop by."

"Pick a tree, for... what?" she asked, looking up at him. "A target for keyblade and magic training?"

Alright, thanks! Though how exclusive are we talking here? Can I bring a plus one, or is the invite just for me?

[Because if he could bring Xion, a Christmas party would be a good way for her to get a bit of social interaction and maybe even make some new friends in a relatively low pressure way. Or so he hoped; he was starting to run short of ideas.]

"Sure, you can bring a plus one. So long as they arrive with you so I know who in the world they are."

Lea chuckled. "No, for decoration," he said. "You know all those trees with lights and decorations on them we saw on the way over? We're here to get one to put up in the apartment."

Well yeah. I mean, the only people that had action figures made of them back home were famous heroes or athletes, so I thought, 'wouldn't it be amazing to be considered cool enough to have my own action figure?' And now I am!

Oh, cool! Though to the Deputies always change if a new Guardian is elected, or do they usually stay on unless they're bad at their job or otherwise do something to tick off their new boss?

OK, great! What time should we be there?

Interesting... I haven't seen action figures like this back home.

For Deputies, the CPU says that Guardians and deputies who aren't reelected will be granted a severance package to help them ease into a new job. Though I suppose it can't hurt to ask the new Guardian if we can remain deputies. I'm not sure how I feel about the guy competing against David though...

Either way, it just wouldn't be the same without David as the Guardian.

She had no idea why he wanted to do such a thing. But he did, so she wasn't going to question that, she guessed. "How do I know which one to pick? What criteria make one good?" What made one useless?

"Six or seven would be fine."

Well I hope you enjoy them. They tend to come out once or twice a year. But I don't think any figure before came with a..monster truck or anything. That's a completely new one on me.

Have you ever even driven one? [He can't imagine where they got the idea to give him one.]
