Blizzard Time!
Who: Mimi and Riku
What: Meeting and staying warm!
Where: On The Right Track music store
When: Midday
Warnings: none thus far~
It was cold!
Not just cold, but snowing pretty badly. The owners had asked Mimi if she wanted to go home, but looking out the window at the low visibility and wind, she said that maybe she should wait it out. Thankfully the owner braved the storm and brought her blankets, matches, newspaper, some pizza, water bottles, and some non-perishable foods, asking one more time if she wanted him to walk her home.
She had told him no, because staying where it was already safe and warm was better than braving the cold to try and get home. She even asked the owner to stay with her, but he wanted to go back to his family. She nodded, and demanded he text her when he got home.
After texting Takeru and Sora to let them know where she was, and that she was safe, Mimi had just received the text from her boss saying he was home and for her to be safe- and to contact him if she needed anything.
Considering the weather, she had the permission to close the store.
She was just turning the "OPEN" sign over to "CLOSED" when she noticed a boy with a strange blindfold on braving the weather. It had gradually gotten worse after her boss had left, and it was next to impossible to really see anything outside, but he was close enough that she opened the door, a wave of cold air making her shiver.
"Hey! It's dangerous out here, come inside the store!"

He'd had to place his groceries in his own hammerspace in order to rub his sides to stay remotely close to warm, despite the layers he wore.
That was when he'd heard a voice over the din of the wind and snow. He turned his head in the direction it came from, trying to focus on the scent that was probably theirs. Something that was rather hard to do, considering the winds were picking up. It was fortunate he was even close to the door in the first place.
"Right." He nodded, approaching the voice he'd barely heard as he tried to ignore how his teeth had begun chattering.

"I'm Mimi. I have blankets too if you're still cold, and pizza on the counter." She did notice the teeth chattering. "Wait... why do you have a blindfold on- are you okay, are you hurt?!"
Whelp. Good luck trying to get her to not worry about you. She doesn't even know your name.

"Riku, and I'm fine. Just a bit cold." Which was already being fixed due to the heater. Once he's out of the doorway, he gingerly dried his hair - careful not to disturb the blindfold as much as he could. Thinking on it, he probably should have brought his spare one so he could let it dry, but he had expected to be back in his apartment by now. Not in some store he'd never been to before. "Never really saw snow before I came here."
Which meant he wasn't prepared entirely until recently. He tried.

"What? Oh I normally love snow, but not like this. This is crazy."
Mimi was still eyeing him, and smirked. She crossed her arms as she walked to sit on the counter, reaching behind her to turn on the music for the store- some kind of pop music by a female artist she could sing to.
"I have pizza if you're hungry." She repeated, "You'll probably be here a while, so you're totally stuck with me."
She reached for a slice, dangling her legs.
"So you never answered the question. Why do you wear a blindfold?"

He had to purposely focus on her words once the music started playing, a fine frown forming as he did so. Well, technically he could leave whenever he wanted, but the likelihood he'd end up anywhere other than his intended destination was high. Still, he shrugged at her comment. Before leaning against a part of the wall that was, luckily for him, clear of anything else.
"...Not something I usually discuss with others," he replied, wanting to keep the real reason a secret for as long as he could. His reasons were his own and should be left at that, but he had a feeling she wouldn't be satisfied. "I just find it easier than the alternative."

"Alternative?"
This kid seemed weirder and weirder by the second, but he was cute with really cool hair. That was enough for her to listen to what he had to say. That, and to be honest, she knew she was going to get lonely as the storm outside already seemed to get worse.
Being stuck was bad, and being stuck alone was worse. At least back home, she would have had Palmon with her- she decided to focus on listening for an answer, already feeling a pang of sadness from the thought of home.

Though the question gets an awkward shuffle from him, shifting his weight away from her.
"Trust me, you don't want to know." Yet he felt the blindfold was getting soaked as the snow that had remained on his hair. And of course, he hadn't brought his spare with him because he had planned on coming back to the apartment. If the electricity went out it could be bad. so, he briefly pulls it off- keeping his eyes shut tight as he wrung the cloth dry. "I just... would rather people see me."
His voice had already started to morph as he spoke, and so quickly he tied the slightly-less-damp cloth back over his eyes. "Really should have brought the spare."
