WHO: Luke Skywalker, Matt Murdock and YOU
WHAT: Arrival
WHEN: At the tail end of the blizzard
WHERE: The caves and somewhere warm
WARNINGS: Reunions, Fluff and other things
Closed to Luke
He wasn't in Midland Circle anymore Matt knew that for sure. Things smelled.....different and Matt was struggling to put a name to it. He attempted to move forward, but his battered body refused to let him and he collapsed to the ground with a groan. At the same time memories crowded into his head, an island, collars, sex and someone he'd forgotten. Luke....he remembered Luke and this drew another groan out of him. How could he have forgotten Luke, someone who had been so important.
He attempted to focus his senses but the implosion had rattled them so much that he couldn't. He was hearing and smelling so much that he wasn't sure what was real and what wasn't. He felt like he was hearing a million heartbeats at once and he couldn't make sense of it. He swallowed and called out. "Help,' he rasped, "please is anyone there?"
Open to All
Matt could smell snow outside the cave, Nothing heavy just freshly fallen and a lot of it. With his senses still rattled, Matt wasn't sure where the cave was in relation to a town or a city. He could heart heartbeats but very faintly. He turned to where Luke was and frowned. "I can hear heartbeats," he says, "but I'm not sure what direction they are coming from." He sighs. "Can you see anyone coming or sense anyone?" He turned back trying to focus. "Hello," he called.

Matt is laying prone and shouting only a meter away, and Wampa, the white-and-grey striped kitten who Luke adopted months before, hides nearby behind an outcropping of rock. His eyes are wide as he observes the unfamiliar surroundings and cowers from the loud voice.
With a groan from stiffness, Luke rolls over and props himself up on his hands and knees, reaching out to touch Matt's shoulder. He opens up his mind and lets warm waves of Force energy roll through him and over Matt's consciousness, to calm and soothe.
"Matt... it's me. I'm here."
His eyes haven't adjusted to the darkness yet and all he can see is an outline of Matt's form, but there's something different. About everything. What is this place and how did they get here? Is this another cruel game of Eros'? Matt feels off too, which puts Luke's brows into a deep furrow of concern.
Most interestingly, Luke senses the full power of the Force within him. He has it back.

Luke was here, Matt struggled to make sense of this. This wasn't the island however and he could feel the armor against his skin, which meant Midland Circle had happened. He crawled forward focusing on Luke's heartbeat...the heartbeat he'd never heard and always longed to. "Luke," he rasped as the waves of comfort enter his mind and sooth not only his physical ones as well. "Where are we," he asks, "it doesn't smell like the island or New York?"
no subject
He belatedly realizes that Matt asked him a question and he blinks several times, finally reaching out all around him and feeling... so many things, so many people, but nothing familiar.
Slowly, with a lost expression, he shakes his head. "I don't know. I don't know this place."
Carefully, holding to Matt's arm to support him, Luke eases forward until he can get a good look into Matt's face as his eyes begin to adjust to the dark. What he sees is the same man he fell so deeply for on Pathema, but not the same person somehow. Time has passed.
"What happened?" he nearly whispers, afraid of what he might hear.
no subject
Matt wants to laugh. what happened was such a loaded questions with so many answers that he isn't sure where to start. And since Elektra was involved Matt had to be very careful how he gave those answers. He knows Luke doesn't like her, hell after everything, Matt can see now how toxic he and Elektra were to each other. It took a building falling on his head to make him realize this. He finally decides to be honest and let the chips fall where they may. "A building fell on me. After you left...I asked Eros to send me back home. I didn't want to be on the island without you. And things...they got bad. This group called the Hand attacked New York and I and a few others had to stop them."
He takes a deep breath winching when it hurts. "We had to implode the building they were trying to dig under to slow them down. I was trying to save someone and I didn't get out in time." He didn't mention that person was Elektra, he couldn't do that. He felt bad enough he'd forgotten Luke at all and didn't want to shove her under his lover's nose too. It wouldn't be fair and Matt had made enough mistakes.
OTA
His head turns when he hears the voice and walks over, "Hallo, welcome to Genessia."

"Wh-- After I left?!" He recoils slightly, though he doesn't let go of Matt, just enough to see his face clearly. "I-- but I didn't leave. I wouldn't--" There's a haze of uncertainty in his voice, as if he doesn't necessarily believe what he's saying is true, he just doesn't know what else to think.
For a moment he sits in silence, trying to sort through these thoughts, before dazedly shaking his head. "The last thing I remember is sitting in my house on the island. Wampa was in my lap and you were on your way over." And then he... what? Fell asleep?
"That felt like..." he shrugs, "maybe five minutes ago?"
no subject
"Kid! Man am I glad to see you!"
He can tell Luke isn't a hundred percent.
"What's going on? You need help? I'll do what I can..."
(Matt-mun will go after me)
He's clinging to Matt in an attempt to glean as much body warmth from him as possible and he's Force-pushing blood into the capillaries close to the surface of his skin in an attempt to warm himself up. It makes little hairs stand on end and raises goosebumps everywhere which helps a little, but his own body can only do so much. Tucked inside his shirt is a melon-size lump which he has his other arm wrapped tightly around. It wiggles slightly every few seconds or so.
The figure moving towards them catches his awareness in an odd way. A familiar feeling tugs at him through the Force and Luke realizes that he knows that presence. He figures out who it is a moment before recognizing that face, and only a moment later Han calls out to them.
Luke's eyes go wide. "Han?!"
The questions get a dry scoff in reply. "Just freezing my extremities off. Don't worry, I'm already missing one so it's just three more to go." His teeth are chattering so his words are somewhat slurred and punctuated but he still manages to sound vaguely annoyed and exasperated.
OTA
So far, he's helped four people away from the blizzard, telling him that his due diligence was worth it.
This time he hears a voice, slipping from the cave and riding the twisting currents of the wind. "Hello?" He called out to Matt as she stepped towards the center of the cave. "I'm Captain Steve Rogers. I've been assisting those in the storm."
OTA
Emma wasn't the type to let a little snow stop her or keep her inside. She tucked her hands into the pocket of her winter coat, a hat pulled over her ears and yet she was still cold. Her pace was brisk, but her boots crunched in the snow.
"Hi.... are you alright?" She asked.
Re: OTA
Steve Rogers...Matt would be going slightly crazy over this if he wasn't such a wreck. He struggles to sit up as best he can and calls out in a raspy voice. "There are two of us plus a cat. I'm hurt. stab wound on the left side and broken ribs. I'm also blind. I won't be able to see you, but I can hear and smell you okay. My name is Matt Murdock and the other man is Luke Skywalker. The cat's name is Wampa be careful he likes to hide."
(Matt-mun will go after me)
"We're alright for now," he calls back, his teeth chattering. "Not sure about the near future, though. You happen to know where we can go for shelter?"
no subject
"He won't go far. C'mere, kitty," he calls gently, holding out a hand. The cat pokes out his head curiously but stays where he is. This is all a little too much, a little too quickly for him. Luke lets out a breath through his nose in defeat and turns back to Matt instead.
"Let's get you on your feet. I can heal you on the way."
Re: (Matt-mun will go after me)
Matt has to bite back a laugh at Luke's sass. God how he missed it. He shifts his weight a bit to try and take some of the pressure off Luke. With the armor on he knows he's heavier then normal and he doesn't want to knock them both over. He is tensing up because with his sensitive skin he feels the cold more than others and if he didn't tense up he would never stop shivering and that could jostle his injuries. He manages a smile for Han though. "I'm Matt," he says head tilted slightly and eyes completely blank. "I came through at the same time as Luke."
He isn't sure how to add to that. He knows they will have to cross that line sooner rather than later, but now in the middle of the elements was not the time. "Luke and I know each other," he finally decides to add.
Re: (Matt-mun will go after me)
Matt is beyond tried but he manages to raise his head a bit and speak in a shaky voice. 'Somewhere warm would be nice." He feels the cold deeper than other people. "I'm also blind," he adds, "I can't see, but I can smell you and hear you so if you just speak directions out loud I'll be able to find my way around later on. I'm Matt by the way." He manages a smile for the woman who smells lovely like chocolate and sounds just as kind.

Matt wants to laugh. Damm you Eros messing with him yet again. He shakes his head wincing as the movement jostles his aching back and neck. "I woke up one morning not long after our little public exhibition and you were gone...just gone. I couldn't smell you or hear you anywhere. I stayed on the island for a little more than three weeks before I decided I needed to go home," he whispers. "Then I walked right into a firestorm and Eros made me forget you until I woke up here...now I remember every thing...and it hurts...it hurts so much. Good hurts and bad hurts."
Re: (Matt-mun will go after me)
"Ah. I'm his...well, from how young he looks, I get the feeling it was just friends back then. But this place brought me in from a lot later...I'm his brother-in-law now." he said.
He moved closer, helping to support Luke, looking around for a place to get him inside and warmed up, maybe with a doctor. Even Jedi needed medical attention sometimes.
(ooc I think while I wait for replies, I'll look and see what's the best place to get Luke inside. Unless I just say Han's place isn't far away. Or do you have any preference?)
no subject
But then again this future Han seems so pleasant and mature compared to the one Luke knows. He really doesn't want to sass him anymore.
Then he blinks, yet again bowled over by another surprise. Brother-in-law? "Oh--... uh. Congratulations," he stutters, trying not to sound too surprised lest it come off as insulting. He just never thought Han was the marrying type and he never thought Leia would actually settle. Apparently there will be many interesting developments to come in his future.
Then as Han moves around to his side and tries to help, Luke actually huffs an exasperated laugh, raspy and harsh from the cold weather. He gently pries his arm out of Han's grip. "No, Han! I'm fine, just cold. Help Matt. He's the one who's injured."
It may be snowy but this place is definitely no Hoth and Luke looks worlds better than he did that day Han had to search for him in the snow storm.
no subject
Matt is twisting slightly trying to follow the voices and heartbeats. It's hard for him to do given the snow and his injuries, but he's doing his best. He's also trying not to laugh because he can sense Luke is holding back his snark and laughing would be the worst idea ever. "I just need to take some of my weight off Luke," he says trying to downplay how much he's hurting.

Luke slips a hand behind Matt's head, fingers threading through his hair. It's a gesture of support but also one of affection. His heart rate is through the roof and he has to clench his jaw to keep his emotions from spilling over, but Matt is his priority right now.
It hurts for him too, knowing there was that separation and uncertainty. He presses his forehead to Matt's and then leans forward the rest of the way to kiss him gently.
Even as he pulls back he remains close, lips just brushing Matt's cheek. "If it's up to me I'll never leave you again," he murmurs hoarsely.
no subject
Matt kisses back keeping things soft and gentle. If he felt better he would be trying to devour Luke's mouth, but right now he is using the kiss to reaffirm that his feelings haven't changed. He loves Luke Skywalker just as much as he did on the island maybe even more so. "Let's figure out how to get out of here first then we can think about what promises we want to make to each other okay. He shifts slightly and can't hide the groan that spills out of his throat. He can feel and hear his ribs grinding against each other and the stab wound on his left side is leaking blood he can smell.

"I'll grab the cat. There is a welcome center close to here, it's supplied with food and first aid." They had known that the storm had been coming and had prepared for it. "After the storm is passed the people there will help answer any questions you have." There really wasn't time to look over pamphlets.
no subject
"No no, you shouldn't move yet. Let me see if I can jump-start the healing process a bit." He scoots to sit where Matt can lean back against him and then he reaches for one of Matt's hands, threading their fingers. All he needs is skin-to-skin contact but he likes this the best.
This should be familiar to Matt by now, who was escorted around Pathema for months with Luke holding his hand so he could 'see'. While he doesn't necessarily need the contact anymore it certainly makes it easier for him.
He closes his eyes, exhales a centering breath, and reaches out for the Force. It draws in energy through him and into Matt, pushing his body's normal processes into overtime. While it won't perform any miracles, it'll make his wound clot and close up in a fraction of the time. He presses his other hand, as gently as he can, to Matt's side, trying to hold everything closed.
"Just stay as still as you can," he tells Matt in a quiet voice. Soon Matt's nerves will be calmed, inflammation drawn away, and the pain will start to lessen.
no subject
Then the friendly voice calls out and Luke feels no threat through the Force. He lets out a little breath as he relaxes a bit, realizing this might be their chance to get help.
Genessia. Luke furrows his brows and then turns to look at the box he'd woken up with and only briefly glanced at, still sitting on the ground where he left it. He reaches into it and grabs the pamphlet, knowing he saw that name somewhere just a moment ago. Sure enough.
"Wherever it is, it's where we are. 'Welcome to Genessia'," he reads from the front of the pamphlet, mostly for Matt's benefit.

"Uh, yeah...there's a little more, but I'll tell you when we're in a better situation." he replied. No need to go into a lot of detail out here about the kids. And he was way less sure whether to say anything about Mara. He'd been pulled just after the wedding, but telling someone they married a woman who swore to kill them wasn't easily explained. He was going to stay quiet on that for a while.
Luke kept saying he was all right, and better than Hoth, though Han wasn't entirely sure. The kid was always trying to keep from letting on when he felt bad. They were kinda alike in that situation, really. Han could be half dead and not admit he was in serious trouble.
"All right, if you're sure." He did go to help Matt, and then Matt did the same thing. Downplaying. He still tried to help whichever one looked to need it the most as he led them toward where they could get out of the cold for a while.
Re: (Matt-mun will go after me)
"Okay, Shelter and food, I can do," She spoke to both of them. "We are facing North and our apartment is just a block up and to the left. Are you both okay to walk or do you need medical help?"
no subject
Matt relaxed as the blanket dropped around his shoulder. The warmth wasn't much, but it helped. He smiled at where he assumed the good captain was. " Thank you Captain Rogers," he says, "I should mention I'm blind, but I can hear you just fine. My sense of smell is pretty good too, so please lead the way."

"We should be okay," he says again to Emma, looking back to her. "Thank you."

On that ice ball he was bloody and bruised and passed out half-dead from severe sub-zero temperatures, whereas now he's perfectly healthy and he's been out in only mildly freezing snow for maybe five minutes. Sure he's shivering and annoyed but he could run a few laps around the city right this minute to warm up. The only reason he isn't doing that is because he has to escort his injured boyfriend.
"I'm sure," he replies in a firm, if shivering, tone.
His focus returns to Matt, as if concentrating for a moment on his very aura. "I've been healing him since we woke up. Stab wound and a couple of broken ribs I think. Can you feel anything else?" he asks Matt, still clinging close to him even if some of his weight has been taken off.
((Sorry! I forgot to answer your note. Anywhere is fine with us I think. Han's place will work.))
no subject
"Are you alright to stand?" he asks Matt softly, already sliding an arm around him to support him.
no subject
"The welcome center is very close." Which was why they had set up a shelter there in the first place.
Steve pulled out his phone and began talking into it as Luke addressed Matt. "This is Captain Steve Rogers, I have two coming to you. They'll need medical treatment." Once he sent the message he slipped the phone back into his pocket and gestured towards the mouth of the cave.
"This way, stay close to me." He plans to help block the wind as best he can.
no subject
Matt eased himself to his feet and nods. "I'm good," he mutters to Luke, "just let me know if my weight is too much. I'm heavier with the armor on and I don't want you to get hurt too." For the first time in a long time, Matt felt blind and he was terrified something could go wrong and he would lose Luke again. He was pretty damm sure he wouldn't survive that. "Don't try to help me see," he adds firmly, "you are using power to heal me you don't need to do that right now. Just don't let go of me."
no subject
Matt does his best to focus his senses on his healing body. "A few torn muscles," he says feeling the shift and pull of them. "two in my shoulder and one or two in my back. Nothing major though and the bleeding on the stab wound is down for now. But we should get somewhere warm and safe, because you are basically doing a patch job and it isn't going to last."
no subject
Matt can sense on a small level, even with his scrambled senses Luke's concern and he tilts his head toward the other heartbeat. "We need to get somewhere warm," he says, "Luke will be able to do more for me, once his mind isn't trying to keep himself warm and heal me too."
no subject
Matt drops into a meditative state while Luke works so that he can indeed stay completely still. As the pain fades his senses straighten out a bit allowing him to focus on Luke's heartbeat and he memorizes it. If he was feeling better he would cry, because back on the island he'd been too depowered to be able to. Now he had the sound in his ears and in his heart and this moment was the most important in his life. Well one of them anyway. He relaxes as much as he can when his side has a hole in it.
"Are you okay," he asks softly, "you aren't straining yourself trying to help me?"
no subject
A pause, "And I'm The Doctor."
Then pulls out from beneath his long brown and open coat; some blankets and offers one to each Matt and the other in the room. It's obvious from the snow on the jacket shoulders it's a bit nippy out thar.
no subject
"Don't worry about that," Luke tells him in a gentle voice. With a little Force-assisted levitation infused into his muscles, Luke can handle things many times heavier than he looks like he'd be capable of. Matt is like a feather to him, considering he can lift and carry around his 5-ton X-wing.
"I'm not letting go of you." His voice goes even quieter, letting his words be soft reassurances for Matt only.
no subject
"You might have been bleeding out. I think I'd happily strain myself to keep you alive."
His eyes open slightly, just enough that he can watch their clasped hands. After a moment or two he carefully lifts his other hand from Matt's side to get a glance at it, even if the sight makes his stomach clench a little. The skin hasn't quite closed up yet but it seems to have clotted fairly well. He lets his bloodied hand rest on the ground while he continues siphoning more energy through Matt's body.
"It already stopped. We can get moving in a couple more minutes I think. How're you feeling?" Blood and injuries are nothing new to Luke, having been a soldier. There's just something different about seeing them on people he cares deeply about. While he seems calm and collected on the outside, in his head Luke is repeating a mantra to himself.
He'll be okay, he'll be okay.
no subject
"It's just a few steps to the elevator. I'll share my chili, don't worry I didn't make it," She added with a laugh.

As he helped the two work there way toward the house, he decided to fill in a few things. "All I know is this place is called Genessia. It's not the only city...there are a couple around...but I've mostly been here. It's been at least a few months now. No one's figured out a way home yet. And I'm starting to go nuts missing the Falcon. Been helpin' out the guardians as a deputy though. I figured if others show up...that's part of what I'll have to explain once we're out of the cold...I wanna make sure as best I can that they aren't comin' into trouble."
no subject
As promised it's close, only a block or so away. Steve pushes the door open and leads the pair inside. He'd sent notification ahead of him to let the welcome center know he was bringing two people out of the storm so they're ready and waiting with more blankets, hot soup and medical care.
no subject
"No one's going to make us wear slave collars here or force us to have... certain relations, are they?"
His tone sounds rather dry and annoyed when he asks that question. Evidently he's had experience with this.
