Hey...

I shouldn't be doing this because I feel awful and have been up since two, which if my roommates heard me, I will apologize for that, but... Just laying there all the time is not exactly my idea of fun and just talking to people is the best way of not driving myself insane.

More so after having stared at the ceiling long enough to know that no matter how long you stare, it's not going to do anything cool. As disappointing as that was to me, which is a very strange thing to admit.

So I can start off with this... What do people consider fun? Or have you ever teased someone and if so why?
Was it for a reason or just because you wanted to? I could come up with more questions but I think sleep is going to hit me, so I should rest while that's around.

Action; For Roommates
[Takeru felt awful. He really did, but he knew that eventually, he'd need to get out of bed and get something light to eat. Probably toast was going through his head. Keeping a blanket wrapped around him, he slowly left his room, making his way towards the kitchen. He figured his friends were all at work and it gave him enough time to put the bread in the toaster and eat what small amount he could before finally laying on the sofa, blanket wrapped fully around him. It wasn't the best place to rest, but he figured for the time being it was the best idea.]

What's fun? All kinds of things. Talk, dance, music, literature. The moist kinds, at least. Friends, games, duels, romance. The list is discursive.

Teasing's fun too, though I can't quite figure how one could want to do something without reason.

[Funny thing about taking up a job as a semi-freelance photographer. Her work hours were a bit more liberal than some.]

[It was for this reason that Hikari happened to be home at the time, sitting on the couch and going over a few photographs on the table when she heard the door open. Takeru's door hadn't shown any signs of action since she'd woken up that morning, and having yet to check for new public messages, she'd been unaware of his condition. Until that moment.]

[One look. That was all it took to see what was going on. And she felt an overwhelming sense of empathy. Typically being the one of the group to fall ill, she could also understand why he might not have said anything to herself or Mimi. But that didn't meant she was going to let him get away with what were clearly plans to push himself too soon.]

Takeru...

[She got up, walking around the couch as she eyed him up and down. He was pale. He looked exhausted. And, if her theory was correct...]

[Wordlessly, she walked up to him and lifted a hand to his forehead, comparing it with her own current temperature.]

[Takeru's plans were simple. Make something to eat, actually attempt to eat it and go back to bed. He wasn't sure if that last one would actually happen in terms of sleep, but he never knew until he tried at least. But first was the important part and leaving the room had been the goal, which was successful... At least until he spotted someone he thought had been at work.

Well, this didn't go as plan much, really. Takeru thought that perhaps he could try and be himself and act like nothing was wrong, but he knew full well that was an impossible feat to do. He couldn't exactly hide that he was ill. It was clearly obvious from the get-go.

But he still gave a slight smile, if only briefly before he found himself surprised at her placing a hand on his head. He was feverish, of course, but he was still going to act like he wasn't.]

Hikari... I didn't actually know you were home. [He laughed slightly, even though he realized a second later it probably wasn't the best thing to do.]

What do you even mean by the 'moist kinds' anyway?

You'd be surprised. Like people tease because it is fun to do for the reactions.

[Probably not.]

You're warm.

[Stating the obvious as she stepped back, hands lowering. He seemed like he was trying to play the situation off, and very briefly, she wondered if he was expecting her to yell at him.]

You could have called me if you needed something. Or Mimi. [If, worst case scenario, Hikari had been unavailable to help at that particular moment.] What are you doing out of bed?

I thought you both were at work. [Which was the truth for the most part, though that didn't explain why he didn't say anything in the morning when he might have needed to. Instead choosing to just lay there and being quiet.]

It's also kind of why I am out of bed, just going to grab something light to eat then was planning on heading back. [He shivered slightly for a moment, moving his blanket closer to himself in the hopes that it would help.]

I wasn't planning on doing too much while I feel bad. Promise.

Moist literature as opposed to dry texts.

[It's almost a joke.]

The motive, that is, the reason of that seemss very clear. Nothing spasmodic about it.

[She had seen the text as soon as it had come in, and made the conscious decision to stop and pick up some soup on her way home. It was early afternoon, and after the store owner arrived, Mimi bid her goodbyes and did as she was going to do.

She picked up enough chicken soup for herself and her roommates, plus an inexpensive loaf of warm French bread, and opened the door, announcing her presence.]

Takeru, I know you aren't feeling well, so it is my goal to make sure you're better by Valentine's Day!

Fun for me is Kendo or cooperative games. Back home, we would play Virtual Reality games.

[Suguha is going without her usual Leafa moniker, considering she knows Takeru.]

I can make something for you.

[It was not merely a suggestion. Judging by the expression on her face. Which was smiling lightly, but then, how many times had she smiled at him when they both knew there was a different expression hidden underneath?]

What would you like to eat? [Or, rather, what did he think his stomach could handle?] Go lay back down and I’ll bring it to you when it’s ready.

[They were both very much aware of smiles that always hide something underneath, be it Takeru's usually mischievous smile or a smile that hides the sadness that one doesn't express. They were something he is used to with her and vice versa.

Feeling rather defeated, for the time being, he knew he should just give up and go lie back down. But for the moment he wrapped his blanket a bit further before speaking.]

I was just planning on making a slice of toast, basic but something I can eat slowly. [Because he really was not going to tempt anything else right now. But when he finally spoke he moved to turn his head.]

I assume now you want me to go back to my room, right?

I guess.

Though what is your reason for teasing? If you have one?

[Takeru had pretty much found himself laying on the sofa. Sure he wasn't doing much beyond being wrapped up like a caterpillar in a cacoon but it at least meant he wasn't slowly driving himself nuts by laying in his room all day.

Moving his head slightly, he peeked over his shoulder.]

Welcome home, Mimi... Though I assume the by Valentine's Day thing is because of the festival, right? [He was about to laugh but figured it's best not to.]

I'm sure I'll be better by then. Should only be a couple days at best. I think.

Ah, you do kendo?

Yeah, I'm on the school team actually. And I've been training since I was little.

How about you? What sort of things do you like?

Or you can lay down on the couch, if you'd rather not get crumbs all over your bed. [Because toast was messy, and that was a comment on the food item far more than the person eating it.] I'll move my things.

[Fortunately, there wasn't much to move. She had to shift her camera and its case and just a couple of the photographs to the far end of the table, gently shoving the rest of the phorographs out of the way as well so he would have a place to put the plate.]

Making fun is, I would guess, infinitely preferable to making boredom. Though love, I suppose, cannot force enjoyment on others.

So... I am taking a stab at what you mean, which I am still not 100% sure is you do it for fun?

[She had a point and he honestly wasn't sure if he could actually make it all the way back at this moment in time. It was a dumb idea to try and do things by himself. Feeling defeated he nodded slightly.]

I think the couch is the best idea. If mostly because it's closer right now.

[He didn't, however, know if he might never get up from it once he actually laid down, but he slowly made his way over, finding a spot to at least sit down before glancing over everything.]

Are these your pictures?

I like writing. Back home I worked on a blog and kept in contact with people through that.

Not sure if the other thing I like to do will count.

[She nodded, and suddenly looked a little sheepish as she eyed a couple in particular.]

I was still getting used to the camera when I took these. The manual lens is a little trickier to focus properly because it's so precise--I was trying to get it to focus on just one layer, so that the area around it softened into a blur. But it all came out blurry instead.

Writing sounds nice, you could probably do that here again, if there were more demand for computers I mean.

What other thing?

Takeru you need to take care of yourself and rest, even if it's boring. Books are fun! I could bring you some if you want.

It's still not too bad.

[Sure, they were blurry, but he was pretty sure if that hadn't happened, they would have turned out perfectly fine. He soon found himself pausing on one of them, leaning over to take a closer look.]

For trying to get used to a camera, still pretty good than what I would do. So when you have gotten use to it they'll be amazing.

If I had the time, I would. I mean I guess while ill I do, but I don't think the blog thing I did back home would work here.
