[Lea seems to be kicking back in his room. And for someone who seems to be just laying on his bed and staring at the ceiling, he looks oddly thoughtful. After a moment, he turns his head slightly to look more directly at the camera.]

Question for everybody: can friends do things for Valentine's Day too? Or is it just for romantic couples?

I know there's probably a lot of different opinions on this, if you even celebrate the holiday, but I wanna know what everybody thinks.

Yes. Friends can. My grandmother used to send me Valentines cards too.

Hmm...from what I've seen, it could be a celebration between friends as well. And despite the emphasis on romantic couples, I believe some single people celebrate it as well...

I can't say I'm an expert on this, so...I don't really know.

I think it really is supposed to be for romance. But, I also think it should be fair to celebrate friendship too. Not everyone has someone around to be romantic with...

If you don't mind flirting with semantics as well as women, I don't see why not! The word of the day is "couple", so a couple of friends ought to do as well.

There's nothing wrong with celebrating Valentine's Day with friends and/or family.

Even co-workers can get obligation chocolate.

While it seems like this world seems to push more toward the romantic side of things, Valentine's Day can be spent with friends. Back home, girls would give chocolate to friends for example. It's called obligation chocolate.

[A pause.]

Which I think someone already mentioned. [Takeru was glad he was feeling much better right now. Not perfectly better, but he didn't look as bad at least.]

I mean on the day I'm just spending time with a friend. It was meant to be two of them, but one got a date like a few days ago.

I don't see why not. I mean I'm planning on giving my friends chocolates for it.

Of course it's not just for couples! Valentines day is about all sorts of love. Your friends and family included. Even us idols get to spread some love on Valentines day!

Really? Huh... My grandparents never used to do that. I mean I got cards and presents from them on my birthday and Christmas, but not Valentines Day. I did made Valentine card for my parents at school when I was a kid, but when you're that young it's a little different, you know?

Yeah. I've heard some people call it 'Singles Appreciation Day' if they don't have someone to celebrate with. Use it as an excuse to treat themselves to candy or a fancy meal or something.

But I'm actually kind of glad you don't think it's just for romantic couples...

Yeah. I don't even know if I know how to feel romantic about people. It's not something I had to consider for a long time.

[Lea chuckles.]

You know, I like that reasoning. People shouldn't be left out just because they're not the romantic type.

But I'm kinda glad that this seems to be the general consensus so far. I know I used to do things with my family for Valentines when I was a kid, but that's a little different, so I wasn't sure.

Yeah, they did. Can't say I've heard of it until now, but hey, I'm not gonna argue with someone giving me free candy, you know?

I'm glad you have somebody to spend the day with at least. I know some people just use it as a day to treat themselves if they don't have anyone, but that doesn't sound as fun to me.

Well I don't know about er... idol love, but it's nice to see that the general consensus is that it's not just for romance. You got anybody you're spending the day with, if you don't mind my asking?

Yeah, that's used more by the people who are actively uninterested in romance than just by people who don't have someone to hang out with.

Though nah, this isn't really the kind of thing Xion would like. Besides, by the time I got done explaining it to her, the day'd be over.

I was actually kinda hoping that maybe... you'd go to the Valentine's Carnival thing with me? As my friend I mean. I mean it looks like fun, but not so much if you go by yourself, so I just figured...

Don't feel like you have to pressure yourself. There is no rule that says that you have to feel romantic about anyone. Just enjoy the holiday however is best and most comfortable to you.

You will? That's great! I just wanted to be sure it was OK just to ask as a friend, you know? So it wouldn't be weird.

But anyway, want me to just come by your place to meet you? We could walk over together.

Yeah. That's what I plan to do. I just feel lucky to have such good friends, so I'm gonna stick with them.

Hey, any tradition that involves getting free candy is one I can get behind.

I agree with you there, though. I don't know about romance, but I know I really care about all my friends, here and back home. I owe them a lot.

It seems to only be a thing in Japan at least, in other worlds and such it seems to be celebrated in a very different way.

[He laughed slightly.] Just remember if you do get something to pay them back a month later.

Nothing wrong with that either, they must make their own fun.
