Oh, how bothersome!

[Merlin is finally awake, and he's a little miffed about leaving his young ward at such a critical time.]

Now listen here, whatever business you have with me can wait! I must make sure my student is well taken care of for the task ahead, you can't simply expect a boy to run an entire kingdom without a bit of smarts behind him! I know for certain I didn't travel forward in time, nor do I need any of your gadgets or gizmos where I need to go!

[For how old and strange Merlin looks, he seems well suited for using the communicator. Perhaps it's similar to a device he's used before.]

Now if you want to come out and have a civilized discussion, instead of foolishly trying to detain the most powerful wizard in the world against his will, then perhaps you'll see reason. Whatever your business, it can wait until I've seen to Arthur's well being!

[Though truthfully, Merlin is an awful lot of hot air. He's more worried than anything else.]

[This sounds like an angry elder. Saleh takes a moment to consider his words carefully, for he has nothing but respect for his elders. This man almost looks as old as his own grandmother, and he claims to be a wizard. Very interesting.]

Sir...please calm yourself. If there is anyone responsible for this, they have yet to make themselves known to anyone. It may not even be the work of any people, for all we know.

"You're talking to air, gramps," Betelgeuse said, a bit smugly, given that the lack of visible kidnappers bothered him, too. The guy might not be using video, but his voice and fussiness told Betelgeuse that this probably wasn't a young person. "No one can make out who keeps dragging people here. Only people I've talked to were brought here same as you and me."

[Minako...can actually agree with the ruling the kingdom without some smarts. In her mind, Usagi now at least had those smarts and was pretty much ready to be Queen in the future and she knew that eventually that day would come. But in this case, she appears as Sailor Venus instead of her normal self of Minako.]

It appears you were entrusted with someone whose future was to rule as well. It can be pretty tough sometimes, right?

[Because she has to ask because wizards can do magic and that type of thing is supernatural.]

Then you must have been busy before you arrived? [Because even he knew ruling takes a lot and he only knows that because of Ashura and the fact he worked for him before thing happened.]

But son't worry, I'm sure everything will be fine. [As reassuring as he sounds, coming from him might not be as reassuring, especially when he looks so happy.]

I'm not sure it's so wise to advertize yourself as the world's most powerful wizard over the network.

Oh, um. Sorry mister powerful wizard. [She bows her head slightly, as some form of respect. ] I'm sorry to say this but, you might not be able to go home any time soon.

Indeed so my dear! None other than the legendary King Arthur. Though where I come from, he's only just begun his journey through life.

Blast it all, maybe Archimedes is still there to at least keep the boy company until I figure out the right spell to go back.

Well then, no doubt the scoundrel responsible for displacing people will make a mistake and slip up, then I'll find out what confounded spell they used!

[Merlin laughs in a way crafty old men usually do.]

[Okay, he's probably had a moment to chill out by now.]

[Merlin may not necessarily need reassurances now that he's realized he has access to his spell books.]

And why should I bother to hide? Anyone trying to find me may do so sooner or later, and any oafish buffoon with small minded ideas about wizards are easy enough to thwart.

[This is the look of a man who just does not give a damn.]

That won't be a problem, I simply need to find the right spell.

[It's then that Merlin notices just what exactly he's speaking to.]

I see I'm not the only one skilled in the art of shape shifting!

Perhaps. I'm sure there are many others who feel the same way.

[Saleh can't argue with that.]

In the meantime, however, I would strongly suggest settling down.

[ there's an... awfully excited little girl on the video feed. ] Wow! Really? The world's most powerful wizard!?

[ WHY HASN'T MAVIS HEARD OF YOU BEFORE!? ]

What's your name? What Guild are you from?

[Oh no, young minds who need a teacher. His one weakness.]

My name is Merlin, my dear. I don't belong to any guild, but I travel wherever my curiosity takes me!

[He does settle down after a moment. Though it's clear the old wizard is still pretty irate.]

[ "Young" isn't quite the right term for it, since she's an adult. And also dead. But you couldn't tell that from looking at her. ]

Ooo, an independent mage! I must be getting out of touch, though, if I've never heard the name of the world's most powerful wizard before.

My name is Mavis, by the way.

Oh, I tend to just sight see whenever I travel and keep to myself. It wouldn't do if someone in the 21st century thought I was anything more than an old man!

[Though her ignorance on the matter does nothing to dim Merlin's enthusiasm.]

It's quite alright dear, I try to keep out of the major history books so that others have their time to shine. Wouldn't do if I just swept in and fixed everything with my spells, would it?

[ Ahahahaha... what. ]

But you know, that's what we wizards do. We fix problems, help people. At least, most of us.

The world's most powerful wizard...

{ A lofty claim, one many people have made about themselves, accurate or not. How truthful is it, in this case? Current number one of the Ten Wizard Saints, perhaps? He hasn't exactly kept up on that. Zeref has found that being on that list, while certainly a status symbol, is oftentimes more politically motivated than an accurate measure of who is really the most powerful at the time. }

What kind of magic do you use, if I might ask?

Oh, forgive me, I often forget to introduce myself.

I am Saleh, a sage from a village called Caer Pelyn, in the mountain peaks of Magvel.

Indeed, though I prefer acting as a guide than direct intervention. How do you expect someone to learn how to use their brain if you solve all of their problems for them?

[Even if he did cheat by using magic to help Wart finish his chores and the like, but shhh. That's not proper learning for a boy.]
