Nobody Playdate
Who: Demyx and Zexion - open to roommates and visitors
What: They're hanging out. It's not weird.
Where: Cassian/Kay's house
When: March 1st
Warnings: Probably none. They have Pokemon.
When Demyx wanted to be annoying, he certainly could be. He had it down to an art, if not a science, because it had taken all but a minute for Zexion to agree to come over for a visit, to hang out.
At that point, Demyx had been roughly 30% sure that Zexion meant it. Most likely it was a stall tactic, designed to shut him up and get him out of the library and away from pestering him.
He was appropriately surprised when Zexion actually showed up.
Demyx rewarded him with a brilliant grin. "Hey Zex!"
He stepped aside and opened the door wide.
"Come in I guess. Watch out for pokemon!"

Might as well get this over with.
He had his Absol in ball inside his pocket for transportation- appropriately, he'd found that the Absol didn't particularly like being around people. This was not the kind of pet that needed walks, unless Zexion went to an uninhabited part of the world, but he hadn't yet found a place quite good enough. Still, socialization with other Pokemon might be good for him.
"Zexion," he corrected, for what felt like the billionth time. "I don't know why you insist on butchering my name."
"You guess? I can leave if it's a bad time..."
no subject
"It's not, come in." He grabbed for his sleeve to tug him inside.
"You wanna see my room? I have a bunch of pokemon. Hey come on!" He would attempt to keep pulling him.
"I didn't think you'd come!"
no subject
"We're friends?" And since when?
Demyx had better leverage, since he was bigger, so he had no problem pulling Zexion along. It didn't hurt that he'd caught Zexion by surprise, either. This was strange. But he wasn't actually touching Zexion, so it was fine. Probably. It went along with the idea of getting this whole disastrous meeting over with, at least, the sooner the better. Most likely they would argue at some point and give him an excuse to leave, and then he wouldn't have to do it again.
".......I suppose," he answered to the question. He didn't see any point in admitting that he wasn't going to come, so he kept quiet about that part.

"I live here with Cassian and Kay and Sonico. I don't really know her though. And for Christmas I got a lizard-thing as a pet but now I have a whole lot of pokemon, it's really cool." He was happy enough to babble at Zexion.
"And for new year's eve I went on a date!"
no subject
"I don't know who any of those people are." This should be interesting. "What's a lizard-thing?"
He frowned at the mention of a date. Demyx had never mentioned that. "Why would you go on a date? It's not as if you have a heart." And Demyx wasn't the type of person to intentionally lead someone on without a strong motivating factor. "Unless... did Ted set you up?" He'd been dodging Ted himself, so he wouldn't have been surprised.
no subject
He shook his head, he didn't know what it was called - an axolotl- but he knew what he called it. "I named it Staccato." He hadn't named his pokemon yet.
"I know, and Krista knows that too. We went out dancing! It was super fun!" He grinned.
Demyx sighed at Ted's name. "No, he wants to set me up with Arelen and she loves me, and that's all weird so, I'm kinda avoiding her. Sort of."
no subject
Well, the name was helpful. Zexion rolled his eyes. He guessed he'd have to just find out when he got there.
He was quiet for a moment as he processed all of the rest of the information, since it was a lot to digest. He didn't really have any objections then, if this girl knew the situation. Not that he cared or that it was any of his business, but Demyx had been the one to bring it up to begin with. As for the rest...
"Arelen?" Zexion asked. "You must be joking."
He hadn't interacted with her much, but he couldn't imagine her being capable of such a thing, heart or no.
no subject
Well, technically Zexion could ditch him anyway, but he was going to say it with confidence and see if he agreed to it.
"That's what she said." He sighed. "She is kind of mad that I don't have a heart and I can't...I don't like her like that. I don't really like anyone like that, and I definitely can't love her so it's just...things got weird." Which was why he was no longer living with her.
"And then that thing happened where Arelen turned into Larxene again and Kay was worried about me since she was kicking me and stuff." Apparently other people found a volatile, violent relationship weird.
"It's not my fault I don't have a heart, it's really not." He was kind of babbling, as he opened the door to his room. "But I actually got kind of mad about it. That was weird. Have you felt anything yet?"
Demyx's room was relatively unremarkable. He had a blue blanket, he wasn't wearing his Organization clothes, they were in his closet, with some other sweaters, two pairs of pants and his parka. He had two sitars leaning against both walls in one corner and on a desk, he had a tank where his axolotl lived.
no subject
"....that's... unnecessarily complicated," Zexion said about all the Arlene stuff. No wonder Demyx had gotten away. Zexion would've too.
"No. No feelings," he answered. At least nothing beyond mild annoyance, but that had always been around, so nothing new anyway.
He looked around, surprised that Demyx's room was as clean as it was. He'd expected a whirlwind of things everywhere, to be honest.
no subject
He didn't think Arelen or Lea were going to drag Zexion away from the Organization, he was going to have to do it himself.
"I had a feeling!" He said, letting go of his sleeve again. "I didn't like it."
His room was probably only clean because it was sparse and immediately Demyx's Machop came running up and punched him.
"Stop that Crescendo." He laughed at it, patting it on the head.
no subject
"You didn't like it, and yet you're encouraging me to have my own feelings. That makes no sense," Zexion said.
".......I really don't think you should be rewarding it for punching you. It sends mixed signals."
no subject
"Yes, because it's supposed to be better. Anyway, I was really upset and Shinjiro took me to the holodeck to punch things. That made it better." It was a life lesson. Zexion should take it.
Demyx blinked and tilted his head. "Why not? I like him. He's so cute!" It didn't really bother him that the Machop kept trying to punch him.
no subject
"I fail to see how negative emotions are an improvement." Shockingly, Zexion wasn't especially inclined to take life lessons from Demyx of all people.
"Cute?" Zexion asked curiously. "He's violent."
no subject
"Well Cassian says the good emotions come after that." It couldn't all be bad, although if it was, he didn't think that was good either. He hummed, looking at Zexion. "Want to take your coat off? I'll lend you a sweater. They're really soft. Feel it!" He held out his arm.
"....So?"
no subject
"Just because you've abandoned your coat, that doesn't mean the rest of us are so willing."
"So? Since when do you voluntarily put up with being attacked constantly?" he asked, then paused. ".......living with Larxene must have been more damaging than I had assumed."
no subject
"It's not really doing any damage. He just wants to play. I think." Demyx scooped up the Machop around the middle, watching him squirm and kick his feet in protest.
no subject
"He doesn't seem to like you much."
no subject
Demyx dropped the Machop on his bed where it bounced a few times, happy enough to be distracted. "He's fine."
no subject
Zexion was thoughtful at another thing Demyx had said, though. "He was happy about my death?" If he had a heart, that would've hurt, having been with the Superior for so long. One wouldn't expect him to feel anything about it, of course, but perhaps he still expected something. Zexion just wasn't sure what that was. This was complicated.
"I suppose."
no subject
Demyx sighed. "I know objectively what we were doing was wrong." He nodded. "He blamed you for not being strong enough. But it made no sense. How could everyone be wiped out?"
no subject
He wasn't entirely sure how to respond to the strong enough comment, honestly. "Perhaps I wasn't strong enough," he admitted. "But ultimately, Axel took advantage of me in a weakened state. It was more complicated than me simply being beaten."
no subject
Demyx sighed. "I don't know what he's thinking. And no, I don't think I can be absolved either. But I want to try and do something good. I used to be good. Before I was a Nobody."
