[Branding Iron log] [Closed]
Who: Kirika Yuumura and Seth Rim
What: Bounty hunting - Branding Iron
Where: Somewhere in Attleton
When: March 24th....ish
It's been a while since Kirika had done bounties, and she was due for another one eventually. It was a way to keep her skills sharp and ready. In a way, she felt secured, if and whenever anyone from her home world happened to drop in, she'd be ready. It was a constant thought. This happiness she was living, this life, she knew well it wouldn't last forever. But still, she wanted to enjoy it as much as possible. Until that day comes, Kirika honed her skills and will use it. The only difference was, she had to avoid killing.
The Branding Iron, that's what the locals called this woman. A woman who believed if one committed a crime, she'd brand them the letter. For what purpose was unknown, and she needed to be stopped and brought in for her crime. Kirika decided to work on this assignment, it seemed simple and easy as a first step working alone. Kirika was used to working with partners, and she didn't want to interrupt Aya so.... it seemed it was about time. She had done it before.
It was the weekend and Kirika was off work. As usual, she looked up the leads and questioned the locals, and read about the victims. If anything people saw her as a concerned school girl watching herself. Even the girls at her school were scared to be burned by the iron. Kirika didn't seem concerned about it, but it grew concerned in the neighborhood. Now that she had some information about this, what was the best approach? How to lure out the target? And without killing? Kirika pondered for a moment, and thought of a simple solution.
Theft.
It was simple really, and that alone should draw out the target's attention. Kirika wore some loose clothes today, pair of jeans, long sleeve shirt with a cap giving herself a shady character, or so she thought. She went into a music store, and browsed through some CDs. After skimming though, she slipped some under her shirt. It's noticeable enough if anyone was paying attention. She planned to return them later, if anything, pay for it later and explain the reason. It was time to leave the store. Kirika made her way to the exit.
Hopefully, the target noticed her.

Seth's voice echoed through the store as he came to stand at her side. His pale yellow gaze was quizzical but not questioning. A question balanced at the tip of his tongue but instead of asking he opened the door for her. "Funny running into you here." Not funny but he'll wait until the door swings closed behind them before asking his real question.
"What are you doing?"
He had spotted her and followed her into the store just in time to see her slip something beneath her shirt. He has no issues with stealing, really, but it didn't seem like Kirika.

Kirika didn't sense him once again. One day, she will get the knack of this. When it came to humans, it was easy. When Kirika heard that name and voice, it nearly froze her in track, like someone flashed the headlights on her. Of all the times, it had to be today, she thought he was busy with the Everglade.
She looked up to the side and saw Seth, remained mild. Even when he spoke, she fell mute. Funny. No, it wasn't. What could she say to this? She didn't want to lie. Even with the door closed, Kirika continued to walk away from the store.
She tipped her cap forward a little. "Working." She finally said, keeping her tone low.

"Is that so?" What work did she do? Seth thought she worked at a flower shop or something.
"I'm guessing that you aren't able to go into details right now?" Seth kept his voice low, just as Kirika had. He's not going to stop following her and figuring out what the hell she's up too but he'll follow her lead and take her cues.
"You're as cute and mysterious as ever."

She let out a small sigh of defeat, he wasn't going to leave that was clear to her. She's so focused on her target, the compliment flies over her head.
Kirika goes quiet for a moment, her attention forward before she continues. "It's a bounty." She finally says, knowing the target, a woman was somewhere behind them in the crowd, far enough not able to pick up on Kirika's word. The way she said it is like a warning if Seth wants to stay or not.

It wasn't like he was completely unfamiliar with fighting though he's yet to sign up for any of the bounties in the Newspaper. Since his job in Everglade was to catch people who broke the law, he usual focused on the culprits that weren't advertised since no one else was going after them.
He really didn't like his job all that much.

Kirika walked a couple more steps together until she came to a halt, letting Seth walk ahead of her, least she hoped. She closed her eyes, fell quiet, as if she was lost in a deep thought. Maybe the branded woman was around, maybe not. Even in a small crowd, it felt a little, eerie.

He was keeping a look out around them, however Seth had spent years perfecting his ability to blend in with the crowd; part of it was comfort and the other part was appearing to be oblivious to the details around them. Regularly people didn't keep a sharp eye directed towards those walking with them on the street.
"You know, you'd appear more natural if we talked." His voice was low, spoken just for Kirika's ears.

But when he voiced to suggest something, Kirika glanced at him from the side. There was a small smile before she replied with a low tone. "Maybe."
She pulled a CD she taken from the store, held it up over her head, as if she held her prize in the air. Though, that wasn't her intention. The cover was almost like a mirror, and Kirika was looking who else were behind them. One looked pretty suspicious.
