The accent was one Soma didn't recognize, having never met anyone from a region of Earth that had one like it. It was a little distracting, actually - it took him a moment or two to figure out what she had said. "Well, if you're from a place where weapons and armor like that are necessary, you'll probably find this city to be a really safe place, all things considered. Some of us go armed, but it's more out of habit than necessity."

Now that he wasn't distracted by displayed skin, Soma could take in the smaller details. Like the number of weapons she was carrying, and the fact that - aside from the oversight of having most of her legs exposed - her armor was pretty well-designed, something not terribly common in female gear he'd seen here. And she certainly carried that halberd as if she knew how to use it.
