[Another egg victim, who really thought he had outsmarted this system. But when he thought he heard one of the eggs chirp, Uai felt it was his obligated to look after it--

False alarm. It's just another mean egg, out to cause trouble. It slips out of his hands and cracks on the ground, creating a cloudy puff of magic. When it settles, Uai's worst qualities have taken physical form. Before his 'good side' has fully processed what's going on, the evil Uai has already cast a spell. In causes a nearby tree to grow alarmingly fast and grab "Good Uai" with its roots. What little good Uai had in him is now tied in place by roots from a tree. Welp. This sucks.]

W-Wait! Hang on! Can't we talk this out? A, ahhh... S-someoooone! How am I going to get free? Waaah, I don't want to hurt the treee! O-or hurt anyone else, for that matter...!

[It's the evil side of Uai that has the device. He's being moderately well behaved right now, but that isn't likely to last. His shadowy aura is fully visible and it occasionally causes his form to flicker on screen, like a computer glitch.]

Alright, enough playing around. Maybe the rest of you can afford to lay your roots here, with jobs and material comforts, but I'm done with that. What am I going to have to do to get you all to work harder to find a way out of here? Make this place a living hell? I'd be happy to fulfill that role. It seems to be all I do across the times and spaces anyway, so I've become quite skilled at it. You're all between Hana and I, so it's your fault... I'll count to three and then get started, hm?

[She'd rather be in bed since she was up late last night, but the egg problem has her figuratively fried. She wanted nothing more to get to the yolk of the matter, but in the meantime, she was taking a walk around to make a mental note of the eggs and their locations.

But then, suddenly, there's someone tied up to a tree, making this little girl stop dead in her tracks with a surprised gasp.

Neither the tree or the person who looks like he was hugged by the tree looks normal.]

Umm... What happened...? Do you need help?

[The Good Egg Uai is still struggling with getting to the root of his problem, so to speak. He's aware that a not-so-nice version of him is on the loose, and a not-so-nice Uai is probably very not nice by normal standards.

When he spots Sakura, he stops struggling with the tree problem. His first thought it that she shouldn't be out at this hour.]

Um... H-Hey! Sorry, uh... It's not a big deal, don't worry. I'll figure it out... You should be home, kid!

[Yeah, that's true. She shouldn't be out, but Cardcaptor are usually night owls anyway. Not that anyone needs to know.]

[Uai turns pink in the face when she offers. Cuz this is so shameful! It's one thing to need help, but burdening a young child? He's ashamed...

But not about to turn her way. The children he's met are always strong and competent, whether with powers or a strong heart. And he's not exactly in a position to claim he needs no help.]

If it's no trouble? I mean... I don't want to hurt the tree...?

Well, type that up and send it out on post cards to everyone who gets in my way. If fate is going to force this kind of shit on me, then I'll just 'ascend' to its level.

Though now that she is far enough away, she can work her magic. With her Clow wand and The Wood card, she speaks the spell and commands The Wood to take control of the tree keeping Uai hostage. If her magic is strong enough, the roots binding him may be steadily opening up enough for him to wiggle free.]

[Fortunately, the other Uai isn't there to resist. His magic comes undone easily, freeing his better half. Uai sighs in relief as he is released from tree captivity. The girl took off, sure, but he knows she was probably the cause of that magic... but if she took off, maybe it's because she doesn't want him to know?]

Thank goodness! How did that happen?

[He stretches his arms, then holds out a hand. A sword materializes from thin air.]

And perfect. He didn't take all of our magic with him.

[Before long, with The Wood dispelled and her wand stowed away, she comes running back without help.

Good thing she doesn't have to explain anything, because she was already to be happy for him.]

You got free! That's great! I guess you didn't really need help after all?

You're not very patient, are you? You have to know that even working quickly, no one will be able to present you with a way out on a timer like that.

It doesn't seem like many people care enough to try to escape, but you do see an issue with your approach, don't you? Wouldn't it help more if some of us actually tried to find the answers ourselves, instead of relying on others and maybe destroying potential ways back?

Judging by just how little progress has been made so far, I'm guessing "find answers ourselves" made it to the back of everyone's lists. I don't expect that just a handful of motivated people are going to make a difference, either.

So I'll motivate you all. It may take a few days for you to get moving, but you know what they say. Hell wasn't made overnight.

The thought prompts Uai to stop. He looks down at his hands, speechless.]

No shadows... Hey. I'm not ... leaking darkness, am I? [Even though there should be a hole in his soul right now. Uai can't see any of his usual shadowy aura seeping out.]

You're right, I probably don't know much about human nature. Monsters like me have never been known for our empathy.

[He's not convinced. To the Bad Egg, raising hell seems like a way to inspire some action.]

This place is already hell anyway. It's found all my scabs and ripped them off, and it's still digging for more blood. Destroying it might ease the pain for a bit, or get it to back off.

Monsters aren't exactly known to think like humans, no.

If you're looking to vent, destruction might help. I won't stop you. [ Unless Uai gets completely out of hand... ] But it won't convince anyone to do anything.

Humans are stubborn. I'm surprised more of them aren't trying to find a way back, actually.

Leaking... shadows...?

[How does someone "leak" shadows? The Shadow card comes to mind, but she sealed it away long ago.

She looks at Uai's hands and around their surroundings, but is still confused by that question.]

They're too content here. We have jobs, houses, food, clothing, entertainment...!

[Not to state the obvious in brackets, but Uai is losing whatever cool he had.]

None of them know what it's like yet... To be missing the people you love for an eternity. It doesn't make the passing time any easier. This is my personal hell. Taunting me with her lookalike.
