Celery Stalk

WHO: Sync, Ruby Rose, Yang Xiao Long
WHAT: The trio takes down Celery, one of the health nut psychos. But with their combined abilities, taking down their bounty happened way too fast, and Yang isn't ready to call it a day. So she suggests they go somewhere fun to celebrate.
WHEN: Backdated - Before the Egg Events
WHERE: Nova City

As far as bounties went, Celery was probably one of the easiest. Yang estimated that was largely because of the overall team effort. No one was going in alone, they were watching each other's backs, and Celery didn't have any back-up. With Sync to take the lead on tracking Celery down, and Ruby's speed to safely tackle the victim off of the treadmill before fatigue overcame him, Yang's one-punch contribution and declaration that 'Celery doesn't even have much nutritional value to begin with!' seemed pretty minimal.

As a fledgling deputy, she got to enjoy hauling Celery off to prison while Sync and Ruby escorted the rescued kidnappee back to his home, with Yang suggesting they rendezvous outside of the planetarium once they'd finished their duties.

It gave her time to make a quick stop on the way back, too.

When Yang arrived, predictably later than the other two due to the paperwork she had to file, she seemed to be in a pretty good mood. She was grinning from ear to ear, holding a glossy trio of tickets in her hand.

"Guess what I goooooot~" she called out in a sing-song voice. "Three tickets to the brand new Holodeck'd Game Time! Booyah!" Yang fanned the tickets out with a flourish before passing one to each of her young teammates. "Whaddya say? Pizza and holograms? Because I don't know about you guys, but I'm seriously craving some junk food after all that."

Sync was not initially impressed with the offer. It sounded great, if he were being honest with himself; the only thing he had been up to lately was work. Which he had not kinded, but his roommate was fussing at him about socializing. It was also hard to be as much of a workaholic when he didn't have anger or resentment to drive him.

Here, he didn't have anything to hate other than what might incite typical teen angst, and he had exhausted that early on. He let his brooding act go long enough to make it seem he was uninterested before taking the ticket.

"Sure. Pizza and holograms." Though he still had his mask on, and was clearly wearing an outfit that was more for his type of work than Yang or Ruby. He tucked the ticket into a pocket and crossed his arms.

"Holodeck game time? Whoa..."

Compared to Sync, Ruby was rather inspired by the idea. "And pizza. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Really good, sis. Cool."

Ruby was quietly awestruck due to this being something she hadn't experienced for, as she took her ticket and slipped it into a pocket.

Then she glanced to Sync, seeing his more... Taciturn attitude. "Hey, you earned this, right?"

"Did I?" He asked, tilting his head to indicate thoughtfulness briefly. "Well, regardless, I have a ticket, so that's good enough." He replied after a moment, and smirking at Yang's display. Following along, he glanced best as he could at the brochure and listening to her explanation.

He stepped onto the lift last, thinking about the choices and what options that might mean for him. Hanging back a bit, he tried to consider team composition and what the two of them might end up picking, though he was really hoping to not be saddled with healer. He was so in depth with his thoughts that he almost barreled over someone, stopping in shock, as a result of luck, when Yang posed her question.

Sync stepped around the pedestrian, looking between the two under his mask before he finally inclined his head to Ruby and made a motion with his hand; he wanted her to pick first.

As Yang got into the lift, Ruby followed right behind. Sync's attitude... Kinda confused Ruby, and kinda reminded her of Weiss a bit.

When asked about class, she saw Sync deferring to her. "Well, the most speedster-y class is probably gonna be thief, but the most responsible choice would be healer! Unless one of you wants healer. Then I'll go thief."

She might not do the best job being a backline caster, honestly, but she had not thought that far yet.

"Depends on how hard the game is, too, how much the team composition will really matter..."

Sync crossed his arms again, listening to Ruby ramble off her thoughts, which made sense. It was also relieving he wasn't the only person that knew how to be a team player.

He had been considering opening his mouth to speak when Yang cut in, and he snapped his head in her direction, since just looking with his mask would just be rude...and he really only saved that for when he was being aloof or talking to Dist. "It would be responsible to be the healer, but fighter did sound the most fun."

Since they had been on the same track, he turned his head back to Ruby, "Good team work can make up for lack of a healer." It had been ever so important back home since, healing was scarce in a way. Tilting his head in thought again, he turned back to Yang with another smirk. "Unless someone thinks we can't handle ourselves."

"Well, it depends on the game's difficulty. It sounds like it's optimized for four-man teams, at least in theory, so..."

Ruby pondered aloud. "Eh. If the stakes were higher than mild embarrassment, I'd be more cautious, but let's try going without a healer for the first round. Unless you wanna go healer, of course, Yang."

Truly, some wonderful logic!

Ruby tensed a little bit, as was usual for her, as her hair was ruffled by her big sis - but she didn't protest (nor did she dare ruffle back).

"A fourth could be a plan... Or maybe some other thing like a potion stock?"

And then, they were inside. "Hmm... Syr's not a color, though, is it?", Ruby said. "Maybe the old Beacon rule isn't the best plan... Could go with it anyways, though."

She glanced to Sync, obviously seeking his input.

"Hey!" Sync shouted, ducking away from Yang's hands after it was too late to avoid a ruffling. He didn't try to ruffle back, because he was completely mature and not going to do childish things.

However, the suggestions he was very pleased with, as while a random might give them trouble in a real setting; something like this might be alright. Maybe. All he had to do was not be competitive or bratty. Plus he did like an NPC or potion stocks, so he was probably going to lean more towards those options.

The team name did give him reason for pause though, and it took him several seconds to process what the implication of it was. "I mean, if you guys are okay with it." He said, glancing between them and not liking it mostly because it drew attention to him; but with such a small thing it was likely best to downplay his concerns and objections. Otherwise he might make more of scene than his awkward response. Plus any other combination seemed nonsensical for that format.

"Eh, let's keep to it. Team names aren't as important as the people who comprise them and their ability to work together!", Ruby responded after some thought.

It was a holodeck thing, it was gonna be built for fun mostly anyhow. Don't overthink it; it's definitely less dangerous than Hunting, after all...
