13 Hats | Video

[Takeru was leaning back in a seat, his Chatot just chilling out in the background. The other two pokemon he had kept were somewhere but couldn't be seen in the feed. Takeru, held the device and seemed to be in thought for a moment before speaking, moving forward as he did.]

I hope everyone had a wonderful time with the eggs. I know for me it was certainly interesting being 8 years old again. A nice time when I was more pure and innocent than I am now. [He can't help but give off a bit of a chuckle.] Time really changes a person and so does what happens to them.

[He shakes his head slightly, that wasn't the point of any of this anyway, he had people to troll if he was being perfectly honest with himself.]

But anyway that isn't the point of this. I feel like I need to make an announcement of sorts, try and see if I can get people to vote in the awards. I admit I am not good at this type of thing, but here goes...

[He coughs slightly.]

For starters, vote my dear sweet oniichan, Yamato Ishida for Cutest Male because he just makes the cutest faces. Trust me on that one.

Next, I need to give a little shout out to my Queen, my beautiful girlfriend Hikari Yagami who is up for cutest female and most charming smile, both of which are accurate. She has a smile that can brighten up any dull morning.

[He was making it hard to tell if he was being genuine or being a massive troll.]

I should also mention my good friend Mimi is also up for cutest female too. I think that is all I would like to bring up. I know there are others, but I trust peoples judgments in that one. [He smiled slightly for a moment before he leaned back in his spot once more.]

With that done, I have one question. This one is kind of aimed at those of school age, 18 and under basically but when you found yourself here... Did you ever consider going back to school? Like back home going to school was important for a reason, but here...you can get a good portion of jobs without having to, but of course, there are those where you need to have some type of skill or qualification.

[He paused for a moment. His smile that he usually keeps plastered on his face, faded for a moment.]

I guess I just want peoples thoughts because... I guess people here have been following jobs, careers and dreams based on what they love, but I am still at a point in my life where I have not a single clue. That's how I ended up working on Moonbucks because it was simply there, not because I wanted to.

[He fiddled with the device a little bit.] I guess that's all I needed to ask. Thank you for listening.

Yeah if you figure anything out, could you let me know?

[And he is completely serious when he asks that. He has no damn clue what a former savior of the universe turned king could do in a place like this.]

[There were so many things she could say about this post. So. Many. To the point where she literally did not know where to even begin. Besides spend the next minute and a half giggling. And subsequently waiting until she had calmed down enough to put on a casual facade as she turned the camera on and smiled charmingly at him.]

[She didn't nominate him for biggest troll for nothing.]

[But jokes aside...]

What made you think about finally asking about school?

[They'd talked about it before, but something more recent must have happened to trigger the notion of making a public inquiry.]

[Lea looks puzzled.]

...Did I miss a memo or something while I was turned into a kid? What awards are we talking about here?

Will do, though um... Must admit. I need to know who to let know.

[He figured he should at least ask anyway.]

Now, what nomination could that be, my dear kitty cat?

[Playing dumb for this moment in time. But he paused for a moment. He had many a reason, maybe for as long as he had been here.]

I guess there is a lot of reasons. Like watching you and Mimi really. Both of you went with something you like or are passionate about and I just picked a job because it was there. [He liked the job, but it wasn't something he could see himself doing for as long as he was here or even back home for the rest of his life.]

No, this was a thing that happened before the whole kid thing.

Some girl was asking for nominations a short while back and only recently send out voting slips for people..

You know the one, cuddlebat.

[...hey it was a little harder for her to come up with a digimon-themed pet name. Tailmon was very obviously a cat, but Patamon was...pretty much just Patamon.]

To be fair, you were the first one here. [Joking nature aside, her expression turned a touch more sympathetic at the subject.] I might have done the same thing if I had been in your position and didn't have the time to...figure things out before signing up for anything.

What kind of job do you think you'd be more passionate about?

Maybe I do and maybe I don't, snuggle muffin. [He is very much aware of the one, he just doesn't make it obvious even though he knows what she means.]

I mean I could have also been like Mimi and knew exactly what I wanted. But I was just unlucky and had no clue. [He never thought he would need to even think about that for a few more years until this point.]

I don't honestly know, it's probably why I am having this moment right now that doesn't usually happen until a few years later.

I think you do, sugar bun.

[That 'oblivious' act wasn't going to work with her.]

I wouldn't say you were unlucky, Takeru. You did manage to find something that you seem to enjoy doing, even if you know you won't be doing it forever.

It's not like I'm going to always be doing photography, either, you know.

[He was just going to smile, at least for now he wasn't going to say anything more on the matter.]

It was one of two jobs I had at the time. The other job I actually hated. The only reason I guess I did stick to Moonbucks was in part because it was interesting, but also because I didn't want to end up in another job I disliked.

[He tried not to shiver at the thought of his previous job. He still got complaints at Moonbucks but at least he didn't hear people complaining about things he couldn't do anything about. Just the fact a coffee was not hot enough, which was easily fixable.]

Are you not? Do you have a career in mind then you'll be working toward or you just know?

[It actually took her longer to think of what other job Takeru had taken up besides working at Moonbucks than it did for her to think of an answer to his question.]

I was thinking of becoming a teacher. Younger grades, mostly. Like elementary. Maybe even kindergarten.

How cute.

[Yes that was his first thought.]

I think it suits you.

[Of course it was his first thought. And she was a little too busy focusing on the second part to consider questioning his motives.]

You think so?

The only thing is...there’s not really any way for me to pursue it here, is there? Not without going back to school. That’s why I was fine with getting a photography job instead.

Oh. Guess I didn't get mine yet, if she even sent me one.

[Not that he'd have been any less confused by it, since he'd missed the original post asking for nominations.]

It's not something they're going to keep bugging us about like the Guardian elections, is it?

Not as far as I am aware.

[He was still considering going back to school while working part-time, but he knew that would mean he'd earn less money and you never know who might turn up.]

But going to school part-time wouldn't hurt either, right?

I have no idea. I would like to think not.

[Because he didn't pay too much attention to the guardian elections to know really.]

[She shook her head.]

I can't see why it would. [A momentary pause, before she followed it up a bit more tentatively with:] ...I'd go if you do.

Want to make sure I'm not lonely? or vice versa?

[Because it would mean fewer trips to see her during work.]

A little of both.

[She had never been a new student. Not since she first started school. Takeru had, but at least she'd been in the same class to greet him.]

How cute. But let's see if we actually can go back to school first and then decide from there.

[He was considering it though.]

[Either she was gradually getting used to the random 'cute' quips, or else she had simply resigned herself to the fact that he would make them now and then. Because she neither reacted as strongly as before, nor did she seem ready to comment on that part.]

Do you think we should stop by the school office and ask?

Good. I mean yeah, I get that voting is important, but they shouldn't annoy people about it like that.

Anyway, any idea what kind of prizes are involved with this contest? Or is it just a bragging rights kinda thing?

[Not that he's really planning to vote either way, but he's curious.]

Well first we need to check which schools are around, then decide from there and go to the school office.

[He paused for a moment.]

Maybe the welcome center will tell us what schools there are.

Probably bragging rights and maybe something else. Who knows until the day of.

I've passed by a few in the past on some of my usual routes, but I think most of them were for younger children. At least, those were the only students I saw out on the playground at those times.

But I'm sure there must be something for kids our age too. You're right; we should check the welcome center. When's the next time you have off from work?

That's not for another week, sadly.

My last day off was a couple days ago.

[She pressed her lips together in thought. Mildly disappointed that their schedules didn't synch up this time.]

Mine is in two days'. But...I'm not always in the shop, so maybe I could work it out where I can still come with you that day. It's a little easier for me to get out and about, considering what we do.

If we are both out on the job at the same time, that might work also. I mean I do make deliveries most days after all.

Do you think that would be alright?

I wouldn't want you to get in trouble if you end up taking too long to do your deliveries.

Huh... usually contests like this reveal what the prize is up front. Give people more of an incentive to compete or vote, you know?

I think so, more so if it is nearby anyway.

[He lives in hope that he'll make a delivery that's close.]

I wouldn't know, I don't really do much in terms of competition.

Then we'll make plans to visit the school two days from now, assuming you get a delivery that brings you to that area.

[Knowing Hikari, she'll either end up hanging around Moonbucks that morning just in case, or else make extra certain to keep her communicator on hand so he could call her at a moment's notice.]

I'm sure.

[He nodded happily. he was pretty okay with that at least.]

Okay, so two days from today that is what we'll do. I'm pretty okay with that.

I don't either honestly. But that's the way it always seems to work in movies and things, and with most contests I've heard about in real life. Usually the prize is a selling point to get people's attention; give the contest some stakes.

Sounds about right. But hey, that's not something we need to think about much anyway. What's done is done and all that.

[Lea nods.]

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Now I won't be so confused when the ballot comes in the mail.

Glad to help. But for now, I must be off. I have people to talk to.
