[Lately, sweet little Shi has not been feeling great. He's been slowing down, struggling to move, and acts like he's running a fever. Though he's figured out what the problem probably is, it isn't something he's eager to solve... as the solution is miserable.

Hi, um... This is hypothetical, okay? But... if you were someone who needed people to... t-to hate you... and blame you for their problems... i-in order to live... Is that something you should do? Even if you know that if people think you're a Curse, it'll turn real and you'll make real curses..? And you'll really hurt people just by living. Or should you... just disappear..?

N-Not that something like that would ever really happen!

[Shi was walking back to work after a lunch break, having just bought himself a warm tea. He's been freezing lately and still looks rather sickly as he walks. Seemingly out of no where, other characters might notice him suddenly drop his drink when his hands stop working. Once or twice, he straight-up collapses in the streets like a corpse. Which he... technically is. With his curse powers fading, he can't move his zombie body as freely.

Whenever he falls or drops things, his reaction is the same: Sitting up quickly and apologizing.]

Sorry... I'm okay! I'll be okay...! [He doesn't look okay. He always looks terrified to realize he's getting weaker.]

While it's certainly wrong to create hatred for hatred's sake, there are ways to legitimately earn it.

That's an interesting train of thought.

[He leans closer to the camera and the video, observing.]

This isn't unlike a predator-prey relationship...or more accurately; a parasitic one. However, life does have merit and should be entitled the fundamental right to exist. If someone were like that, that hypothetical someone might try to balance things. One good deed for one bad? It might not solve problems caused, but morality is a difficult subject to broach.

Legitimately..? Wouldn't that be a bad thing to earn?

[Shi shakes his head.] I don't think so... Is it a happy book?

[ Today seemed to be a normal, largely unexceptional day to Sertoria. She was on a break from the hospital, deciding to take a walk around Genessia. However, there's something off in the air and she wants to figure out where it's coming from -- only to be led to Shi's distress. A frown crossed her countenance while she moved through the streets, seeing him on the ground.

Her hand outstretched as she crouches down to his level, looking him over. She could tell that there's something off about him from how he carried himself. ]

Do not apologize. Are you all right?

So cancelling it out, kind of..? I've tried that, but I think I made things worse..

I might be smarter now, so maybe it would work this time? Being a parasite doesn't sound like what I want, but I... [He wants to live, not die.]

[Shi tries to look up at her, but it's hard to move his head. What he's struggling the most with is moving his legs: They're heavy and still. He's sure he can reconnect with his body in a minute, but the momentary disconnect is understandably frightening.]

I-It'll be okay. It has to be... I-I want to walk!

[ Her lips purse together in thought, wondering briefly what she should do here. The most apparent solution is to offer healing, but she has a feeling that it's not quite what he needs. ]

Do you want me to carry you?

[He goes quiet. What Shi really wants is to be able to move his legs. He can't, though, and realizes that makes him a public hazard so long as he's stuck in the middle of the street.

So he nods, saddened to realize he desperately needs the help.]

Can you help me get off the road..? I'm in everyone's way...

How so? Do actions of any sort merely multiply the results akin to a chain reaction?

[a beat, Shi already dropped the act of pretense, but Arro will play along for a bit longer.]

If one had the ability to choose their existence; we would be Gods. Those do not exist, in any form thankfully. Therefore; the concept of rebelling against one's existence is an exercise in futility and misery. For most; life is too short for that.

"Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." Some just means come to bad ends when they're delivered to bad people. Like, say, a prophet who warns a wicked city to repent, lest they be destroyed. They are rarely pleased to hear either of their evil or its effacing reward.

[ With just a nod, Sertoria's arms wrap around his legs and one around his back to keep him secure. To him, she must be so warm compared to his cold body, despite the fact that all she has to keep her warm is her robe. Soon, they're on the sidewalk while she keeps him in her arms. ]

I have a feeling that there is more to this than just your legs not working.

That sounds like a really weird curse. [Dray squints his eyes, looking at Shi up and down.] Are you feeling well?

Ahhh~! I-It's definitely hypothetical! A-And there's no one in Genessia who is mean, so..! I thought I'd get good advice?

Ah, the curse I um... Read about? The way it works is that a spirit can embody an idea. The spirit I uh read about embodies the concept of "Shiro, the Curse Kami." He gets stronger when people believe he's real... and that makes him curse people more, even if he doesn't mean it... The houses he stayed in would burn down, and the people who were kind to him died in accidents.

I think Shiro forgot about that... He found a place where people didn't hate him. That made him really happy, too. But now he doesn't have enough power to survive... O-Or something.
