A new beginning, a new story [Action/Text]

[This... definitely was not what Shiho expected at all. But then, if others did end up here, they probably didn't expect something like this either, did they?

She couldn't help feeling panicky on the inside, but she seemed accepting of the situation on the outside. After all, there was no point in denying that this was where she was. If it was a dream, she'd wake up eventually. And if it wasn't, then she needed to learn more about the situation she was in.

The city was big. Very big. She kept looking up at the tall buildings as she walked through the unfamiliar city. She had enough awareness to keep from bumping into people, but she couldn't keep her gaze from wandering whenever something passed by that piqued her interest.

There were four other cities like this here, according to the map and information she'd come across. Much more ground needed to be covered before she'd know where everything is. But if anyone stares at her, she might shy away a little, out of caution, before offering a greeting.

Those that approach to greet her immediately are also greeted back in kind. Approach her?]

Hello? Is anyone there?

My name is Shiho Suzui. It's nice to meet you all. I've heard and seen a lot of things here so far, but I'm curious to know a few more things: is there a way to find out who all is here without making a big announcement to everyone? I have a few friends that might be here.

Also, does anyone play sports here? Are there areas for playing sports? Are there teams for them, if such places exist?

Does time pass back home while we are here? I don't want to miss any days of school.

I remember something about football in the newspaper a while back, but I've not heard of anyone indulging in the past-time.

The issue of time back home is a thorny one; if you'll settle for a simple answer, I'd say "yes, in such a way that you're not missing it."

I believe there is a baseball league and American football teams. What sports were you interested in finding out about? And according to everyone that has returned home and come back, time passes differently here. You won’t miss a single day. Not to worry.

[Not to far behind Shiho another person is a young tween with wings coming out of the pod and gathering her items. She takes to the air and looks around, a sad look crossing her face. Her voice is soft and sounds like this isn't her frist time dealing with something like this.]

...Not again.

I don't see why there wouldn't be areas to play sports.

I just never thought about it until now.

[It's been a busy day for Ann, mostly filled with dealing with talent agency paperwork and everything else she needed to get set up to be able to get modelling jobs around here. By the time she makes it back to Genessia, she's not thinking about much beyond getting home - or what passes for it here - and switching off for a while.

Except that as she walks, she catches glimpse of someone that has her freeze in place, mouth dropped open just slightly as she tries to process what she's seeing.

She hasn't seen Shiho since she transferred schools. But there's no mistaking that she is seeing Shiho right in front of her now.

Before she quite knows what she's doing her legs are carrying her forward in a run, as she calls out in a voice desperate to be proved right and fearful she's about to embarrass herself and some poor stranger in her eagerness for that to be so.]

Shiho! It's really you, isn't it?

[Goro Akechi? That name sounds a bit familiar. Didn't she hear that name on the TV once or twice?]

I think I've heard your name before, Akechi-kun. At least, where I come from. And not at all - one of the people I'm looking for is Ann. Ann Takamaki.

I guess volleyball, mostly? I used to be on a team. [Bringing it up still brings up those memories, but she wants to believe she was good at it.]

That's good. I'm glad. It would be hard to explain if any of us disappeared for any length of time, I guess.

[No matter where she went in the city, there was no shortage of interesting sights for Shiho. It was like exploring a whole new world - but that's exactly what it was, wasn't it?

A voice stops her in her tracks, though - there's no mistaking who that voice belonged to. Was she hearing things? But upon looking where the voice came from, all of those inner inquiries stop dead, as she saw her best friend sprinting towards her.

She breaks out into a big smile - it's really you, isn't it? - and nods. It's been quite a while since she's seen Ann face to face, and she couldn't be happier in this moment.]

Ann... yeah, it's me. I-- I didn't think you'd be here too, but I'm so happy to see you. It feels like it's been forever.

[One of Chiaki's favorite places apart from the memoria park with all of the names, which some of her friends on was always the park. This was mostly because it was one of the few times she would ever actually make herself get some fresh air when she needed it.

It also helped her Pokemon get some exercise as well while she could either walk with them or simply sit on the bench and watch them. Simple, but that was just the way she was.

Today happened to be one of the rare days that even she wasn't as focused on games. So instead she was watching her Pokemon and people watching too. She watched to see what others were doing and pondering a few things.

her eyes soon clocked onto a figure she was sure she hadn't seen before. She paused as she thought about what she wanted to do next. Should she say hello, or leave them be? It wasn't long before she picked the former.]

Hello... you seem a little lost. Are you okay?

[It takes all the restraint Ann can muster not to barrel straight into Shiho and tackle her into a hug. She doesn't want to make a scene, after all, but there's still no hiding how thrilled she is to see her best friend - even after all she's been through with the Phantom Thieves, she can't forget that Shiho reached out to her when no-one else would.

That's not tears in her eyes, that's rain on her face. Even though it's not raining.]

It's so good to see you. I've really missed you.

[And suddenly whatever plans Ann had to go home and relax go completely out of the window because screw that, Shiho's here now.]

Were you looking for anywhere in particular? I haven't been here long but I'm sure we can figure it out between us if I don't already know where it is.

Even if they never openly reported about it, it's an investigation detail that is quite hard to miss. ]

It seems we're from the same world. That should make everything easier. I'm a detective that's been on TV more than a fair share of times if that helps place the familiarity? Takamaki is around. I'm an acquaintance of hers, actually. She only arrived the other day here so it's almost fate that you arrived so shortly after. It's likely she'll get to you before I can pass on the news of your arrival.

I'm afraid I haven't heard anything about volleyball around here. Did you enjoy the sport? Perhaps you could start a team of your own.

( ren had sort of given up on checking the network consistently when he realized just how many people flood into this place on a daily basis, but considering that his friends have been popping in, he thinks it's probably worth it to check once in a while and play catch up. not to mention, it's a good source for quietly gathering intel about the place, which is something he still sorely needs.

intel isn't the focus today, however, when he's scrolling through posts and the name shiho suzui catches his eye. )

I played it a lot. After... some things that happened, I decided I wanted to try to play it again.

[Even after getting herself re-acclimated to the fact that she was okay, and she was there, Shiho was on edge. This could just be a dream -- but it felt too real. How should she feel about this? Until she got out of this, she wouldn't know. Unless something helped her out of that.

Hearing noises behind her, she turns around, staring curiously at the new arrival behind her. So she wasn't the only one that was arriving like this...]

A-Again? Has this happened to you before?

[To be honest, she wanted to hug Ann badly. But she also didn't want to cause a scene in the middle of the city. Especially with tears in both girls' eyes. She was almost afraid she'd cry on the spot if either of them hugged the other. But like before, she had to be strong. She had to keep smiling -- and unlike before, her smile was genuine, it was free. She wasn't hiding pain like she had been before.]

I missed you too... it really has been a while. I hope you've been doing okay.

[She thinks for a moment. Was she looking for anywhere?]

I've mostly just been looking around, I guess. It's been a while since I've been anywhere near as big as Shibuya. There's so many places...

I guess that's true. You could play sports anywhere, as long as you had the equipment and space. I was just curious if there were any dedicated places.

If not, there's certainly a way to make space, right?

Yes... I did go to Shujin Academy. A while back, at least.

[Without knowing exactly who it is, and not really paying attention to names present on the device, there's a slight spike of anxiety that wells up in her. But... well, Ann's here, and there's a detective here. If it's anyone who'd want to hurt her, she'll be okay, right? She didn't want to seem rude to whoever was contacting her.]

Did you go to Shujin Academy, too?

I know. Even Genessia itself is big enough, before you even get to the other areas. Though...I haven't really gone anywhere near Everglade yet. Apparently it's...not the safest city.

[And while she could probably handle herself there, she's aware it's a little different for Shiho.]

( he's so plain after all; even after the few times they've met, he wouldn't be surprised if she had trouble placing him. in hopes that it'll help, he switches to video, meeting her with a smile and a small wave. )

I met you with Ann a couple of times and, um ( he glances away, a little shyly ) once or twice earlier, when I had just arrived at Shujin. You really helped me out, actually.

( it was more than that. suzui was the first person who showed him some kindness at that school, and he's never forgotten it. him and ryuji became friends out of circumstance, but suzui really had no reason to go out of her way to try to comfort him - their interaction had always stuck with him, and made him all the more furious when he discovered the nature of kamoshida's abuse.

the last time he saw her was with ann, when suzui wanted to confront that lost girl she used to be on that rooftop. she was better then, and he's relived to see her again. )

I'm so glad to see you well. Though, maybe these aren't the best circumstances, haha.
