[Yang doesn't let on how tired she is. She looks bright and chipper, her smiling face appearing on the screen.]

Hey guys! Just wanted to say thanks for all your help the other day. Sofia, you kicked so much butt. You weren't even from our world, but you were right there to help us out, and really...if you hadn't been there...

[There's a faint flicker of color in Yang's eyes, but it's gone.]

Anyway, I owe you big time. All of you. Any time you need me around, consider me there.

[She waves at the camera.]

Guess that's all I've got to say for now. See you around!

[Sigh. Yang....]

You don't owe me anything. Ruby's a friend.

[Jaune's surprised, blinking a few times as he holds his phone.] Huh...

[Then a grin.] Well, you just keep in mind if you make any cute friends to introduce me sometime~

[He laughs and sighs.] Nah, seriously though... Ruby was the first friend I made at Beacon. Of course I'd run all around Paris to find her.

... Sorry I haven't visited yet. Things have been kinda crazy. Is she doing alright?

[Sofia just lied down restless on her couch that sits in the middle of a messy apartment. It looked pretty empty besides the furniture that came with the room when she got it. No pictures, entertainment appliances, or even a clock. When she got Yang's private video message, all Sofia did was turn her head to look to her side, watching and hearing Yang even compliment her. Sofia just looked back up at the ceiling again when the video ends, nibbling on the fingernail on the thumb before deciding to reply in a text message]

You don't owe me anything. Get some rest, you look tired.

[She can tell how tired Yang is, because the girl looks pretty much like her right now. Only the brunette is worse. Sofia haven't been sleeping as much, or eating. Regardless, she's concerned about Yang's well-being as well as Ruby's so asked the blonde to take a break. It's over for now]

Are you sure? Because I was thinking I could owe you another movie night~

She's...better!

[She's trying to be optimistic about it anyway. Ruby's still in rough shape, but at least now she's safe and warm, surrounded by friends. Nothing bad is going to happen to her anymore.]

Feel free to drop by anytime, though.

I've been getting nothing but rest, to be honest.

[What she really wants is to hit the streets and start shaking down some punks to find out who was responsible for grabbing Ruby in the first place. But Ruby needs her, so Yang just has to make do. She shrugs. She can be patient.]

What about you, you doing okay? What's with the text message?

[That gets a quiet laugh and a little grin. Jeez, Yang, if you wanted to hang out you just had to ask.]

Why, did you have one in mind?

I'm alright. [Liar]

Just listening to some music to help me sleep, didn't want to bother you girls with it playing in the background of a video or audio message. [Pants on fire. If she's wearing any]

[Yang looks around, then lifts the couch to dig out a secret treasure. It looks like a bunch of shirtless pirates hanging around looking studly and intimidating. The title is simply 'Dashing'.]

How about this one?

[Yang's still got suspicions. She doesn't want to pry, but she also doesn't want to be ignorant and thoughtless.]

I like music too! What are you listening to?

[Blake raises an eyebrow at the cover, she'd known Yang long enough now not to be too wowed by the casual show of strength.]

That one looks promising. I'll get the popcorn?

And I'll get the sodas!

[It's a done deal.]

I listen to jazz music. Have you ever heard of it? The sound of the saxophone and the piano together with the cracking of the fireplace is quite soothing.

Sounds super!

[It really doesn't; the last thing she wants is to be soothed right now. She thought Sofia would be the same way, but maybe she's wrong.]

You're just down the hallway from us, right? Want me to drop by?

[Sofia straightened up immediately when she heard Yang's question, and answered calmly]

Sure, if you want to.

[Huh. She wasn't expecting that. Guess she'd better stop making assumptions! She takes a peek at Ruby to make sure she's okay, then tells Blake where she's headed before stepping out. She knows which apartment is Jaune's and Blake's, but not which one Sofia owns. So she just goes around knocking until she finds the right place.

[Sofia actually put some clothes on before Yang arrived. Can't be seen as a total slob by an acquaintance now, can't she? She tried her best to clean up the coffee table just by shoving everything to a trash bag that she then hid in a closet in the kitchen. But she seemed to have forgotten to fully cover her "wall of crazy" that's beginning to form. Basically it's a collection of everything she knows about Moriarty. She opened the door for Yang once she heard the knock, letting the girl enter the room with soft jazz music playing in the background and fireplace crackling. The entire apartment smelled like vanilla]

Sorry for the... well, lack of everything. I still haven't done much shopping as you can see.

That's okay. Why would you apologize for something like that? I'm the one who showed up without much warning, you know.

[She smiles, hands on her hips, and looks around. Her gaze is first drawn to the fire, which prompts a smile.]

Pretty cozy!

[And then she notes the wall. How can she not? There's nothing else on the walls to distract her.]

Hey, what's this?

[Sofia sighed to herself when she looked at Fang seeing the wall, but she didn't let it show. She was hoping Yang wouldn't see it, but maybe she should]

It's nothing.

Nothing?

[She shot Sofia a skeptical look. Something about the board was tugging at her attention, but she didn't want to be rude.]

If you say so...

[Sofia walks to the board and fixed the curtain the covers it]

So, what do you wish to talk about?

[That's starting to stir up Yang's suspicions. Just what's being hidden from her? She folds her arms.]

You tell me. If you just want to banter around some small talk, that's fine. But it seems like you've got something else going on, and I don't mind listening if you need it.

[Sofia sighed, shaking her head]

I guess it's no use hiding it now.

[She flipped the curtain again, showing a big question mark in a circle with the letter M on the bottom, pointing to underlined words on what she picked up from their brief conversation]

I didn't want to burden you to keep thinking of this man after what just happened.

Burden me? Are you kidding?

[She stares up at the board, trying to absorb every detail that she can.]

I've got every intention of going after this guy as soon as Ruby's feeling better.

I should have known...

[A corner of her lip lifts upon hearing Yang say that. She admires the kids' guts, all of them, but it's dangerous without the help of the other citizens of Genessia helping them get Moriarty. They may be competent fighters, but Sofia still sees them as kids with a lot to live for]

That's my plan as well. I have many questions to ask Ruby to give me a better perspective on M. I tried to keep him talking, but he figured out my game. If he boasts about being above any human intellectually, he's not being delusional. Arrogant, yes. But not delusional.

[She looked to Yang with both her hands on her hips]

I'm sure he communicated with you as well. Did he say anything worth noting?

About himself? No.

[She shakes her head, mesmerized by the board.]

All we know is that he seems to have some way of monitoring all of us at different locations, and that he's familiar with the literature of that France place.

[It makes her wonder if M might be Frollo, but...she kind of doubts it. If that was his home, then the technology levels are all wrong for him to understand how to set up an elaborate death trap and multiple cameras across the city.]

What about you?

Nothing that could be useful enough to narrow down a list of suspects.

[Sofia brushed her hair with her fingers, frustrated]

From what I gathered he's born a psychopath. He told me about drowning a boy once when he had a bad day, only because the boy smiled often and was loved by others. It's hard to tell if that was exaggerated or not but he's definitely not killing out of revenge or hatred. He's definitely just doing this for mental stimulation, amusement. Because he can.

[She crossed her arms]

As I said, his mind is advanced compared to the common crowd. All other types of entertainment like movies or video games are too predictable for someone like him, he needs to play with actual people to scratch that itch. He knows about Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale, so he's probably from a similar world to mine and his speech pattern in those text messages suggests the same timeframe with me as well. But with all of us stuck in here, I can't use the exact same methods I use back home to get guys like him.

Maybe he was jealous for some reason?

[He could be one of those ugly hunchbacked geniuses. Or, if M is a woman, a spurned crush back when she was a teenager. Gah, there's just too much they don't know! It's so frustrating.]

Ugh...

[Having absorbed what she could, Yang turns away, rubbing the back of her head.]

What kind of methods did you use?

I can't say for sure yet, but I wouldn't rule that possibility out.

[Sofia closes the curtain now that Yang's saw enough of it. There's not much to see right now anyway]

I use a method called criminal profiling. I take bits and pieces of somebody's behavior and thinking process based on their actions, mannerisms, speech... It's like putting together a puzzle. Once we get enough pieces, we'll figure out their identities by narrowing down our search criteria.

How do you catalogue people into a system like that?

[It sounds handy, but she can't imagine how the database would get populated in the first place.]

Does everyone just take a big personality test or something?

It's not just one system. We access a variety of databases of records from former criminals, former psych ward patients, missing persons... Which I'm aware isn't readily available in this world. So that's another thing we could use thrown out the window.

[Not to mention Moriarty is too smart to leave records of himself in any database]

[Yang frowns.]

It'd be a lot easier if we could just go after him directly.

[Then she smiles, glancing at Sofia with a shrug.]

Guess we'll just have to follow his breadcrumbs, then!

[After Ruby's better.]

Give me a call, I'll go with you when you do.

That'll probably be a while.

[Yang sighs. No idea how long, honestly.]

We can probably cover more ground if we split up anyway. I don't think M knows that much about you, so you can probably get in places where I would be recognized.

[Sofia nods]

How's Ruby doing?

[Yang pauses. She doesn't really feel right talking about her sister behind her back, not like this.]

Could be better, could be worse.

[She smiles.]

Maybe you could go see her. I think she'd love the company.

That's not a bad idea. What kind of food do you think Ruby would enjoy? I could try and cook that for her, and the rest of you.

Cookies.

[There's not even a beat of hesitation, just. Cookies.]

I mean, let's be real, she's got a crazy metabolism and I'm pretty sure she'll eat anything you put in front of her, but she makes cookies VANISH.

[That got a soft laugh out of Sofia]

Cookies huh? I haven't baked anything besides brownies before, but it's worth a shot.

That'd be great. Thanks, Sofia.

[Cooking isn't exactly Yang's strong suit, unless you like Cajun food.]

No problem. How about you and Blake? What do you girls like?

[She's making a mental note to look up the recipes she had saved on her phone that her friend all wrote, who is an excellent cook that Sofia dreams to be half as good as, at least]

I'm not very picky either.

[Just keep her away from porridge.]

Blake likes tuna dishes.
