[ Despite trying to limit herself to text only thus far, Era is a bit too frazzled to bother with the fiddly buttons of her new communication device right now. So Genessia, have one young Au Ra woman in frame for the first time; blue eyed, long-haired, and ivory horned and scaled.
Era is currently on her way out of the Favnir Ruins (because there was no way she was going to overlook ancient ruins), accompanied only by her Emerald Carbuncle DAEMON. There is a rather surprised and offended expression on her face, and when she speaks it's in a soft voice with a Fantasy EnglishTM accent. ]
All of these creatures turn into smoke.
[ Infuriating!!! She wanted to gather some new monster parts while exploring. Perhaps some Dire Wolf pelt to turn into leather... But no, everything just has to turn into black smoke. It makes her adventuring a waste of time beyond sating her curiosity. If her tail was visible in frame it would be seen lashing back and forth with her irritation.
Deciding she may as well ask since she's already started a post, Era takes a breath and asks something she's been wondering since her arrival: ]
Is there a way to wirelessly link communication devices from other worlds with the communicators we were given here?
((ooc: action for around favnir ruins if anyone wants it))

Veraun...Are you part dragon? Glamour? Dragonkin?
text;
[Video]
Veraun, I have shamed myself as a knight. May I try again, by answering your question?
text;
most people who accused her of being dragon kin tended to enjoy making her life as miserable as possible while still respecting her status as the ward of a high house. even now, with the dragonsong war over, she is still occasionally spat on or elbowed in the markets.
in short, it's a rather sensitive subject despite her pride in her heritage. ]
I have no relation to Dravanians, Meracydians, nor any other kind of dragon.
Now tell me why such a thing should matter at all, if you would.
1/many?
Well, Veraun.
2/many?
[While he's remembering lying isn't a knightly virtue; he's also wondering how well she might take to careless excitement being the vector for this faux pas.]
To explain in detail...
3/3, done!
[He looks off to the side to save some measure of his composure, though he can already feel his cheeks burn.]
Not that I have ever met one, but the books from my home and throughout my star system have done little to quell the excitement that builds when I may be on the cusp of discovery. They can look like people, where I am from.
I was thoughtless.
[He turns back to look at the camera now.]
And I failed to consider what a dragon might mean to others. I apologize, Veraun.
text;
I am Era Ra, or Era de Borel. Both are accurate, though you need not address me by a surname. I am an Au Ra.
[Video]
[Which yes, is a bit backhanded, but that's also just manners in his country.]
Embarrassing myself aside, I ignored your question; I have successfully linked my Partner Machine with this device. It functions similar to what they call "Bluetooth" from Nova City. Though it is neither blue nor involving teeth, so the phrasing is lost on me.
text;
Might I have your name?
[Video]
[While he is handling it well, it is not hard to miss being this casual is awkward.]
text;
Thank you for the information, Enno.

I'm sorry. I'm confused. Why are you being attacked?

I am exploring some ancient ruins. Hostile monsters dwell here, so I dispatch them.
[ACTION]
Fate however has a wonder sense of irony, and his wanderings through Fayren have brought him to unfamiliar territory, which also happens to be the Favnir Ruins. His partner machine relays as such through their link, and as he very much did not recognize the location as he was more focused on the person in video, Enno decides it is worth a look.
Which is fine at first until he's been forced to draw his sword, and then it's reluctant to admit fun, and quite a bit of it as he's hacking his way through, until of course he decides it's a grand idea to use magic. Fresh off his training with Lioriley was probably too soon, but with it being a convenient catch when he's in dire straits, such as facing down a stone golem that has caught in him the back and knocked him off his feet, he minds little, even as he screams in pain as again his arm has sprouted more thorns made from his own blood and bone.]

But Scholar has always been her go-to healing job regardless, so it doesn't phase her that she's limited to it for the time being.
Summoning Lily's dawn aspected form, Eos, takes a few seconds at most and soon enough she's ready to run toward what is likely some sort of danger. Eos flies ahead on Era's command, gliding toward their target with practiced urgency. The little faerie seeks no permission from Enno before she begins casting her healing magic on him, easing the pain of his injuries and reducing the severity of them, though there is no healing spell Eos nor her mistress knows that can heal an injury like this.
Even if Era hadn't encountered a stone golem already in the Ruins she wouldn't have been unfamiliar with how to fight one. There were golems aplenty in Eorzea after all - enough that she cannot put a number to how many she's slain. Aetherflow, Shadow Flare, Bio II, Miasma, Miasma II, Chain Stratagem, Energy Drain, Broil II... Era rotates through her repertoire of offensive arcanima spells, aided by the odd Emerald Carbuncle's tackles and Gusts. It doesn't take long at all for their target to stagger, then turn to black smoke.
Only after the golem has been dispatched does the Auri woman bother to look at the person she sought to save. Oddly enough it's someone she recognizes - a rarity for her given how recently she arrived. Eos continues fluttering around the man, twirling and casting Embrace after Embrace.
"Enno," Era greets, striding over with all the self-assurance of a warrior of her caliber. Her brows furrow as she takes in the damage to the man's arm, causing the patch of scales on her forehead to brush together. "That is not damage from a golem."

However, while he manages to start the process of wrapping, he is given pause by Era's form...and admittedly, her prowess in battle more so. It is here, witnessing her in the flesh that cements the thought that she is every bit a dragon, despite her vehement denial. While this is a subject that he will not dare broach again; he feels confident with the evidence given, and decides that if she is not a dragon, she is related in some way. These points however are dim in recognition of her abilities.
Such mastery is almost inspiring as she rains down afflictions upon the golem as if they were candy, and eventually the golem fades, though the spell cast on the knight is slower to ebb. It is her words and expression that eventually wakes him from his thoughts and admiration, inclining his head to her so he might greet in turn, "Era Ra, we are well-met."
For he is also a warrior, just one favored by significant bad luck for the time being. He glances down to acknowledge his arm as well, frowning. "Nein. It is called Thorning, where I come from," As he speaks, he resumes wrapping his arm.

It looks like it might actually, if the name is any indication. Era can't see how it would be helpful in any way, however. She moves closer, though remains a respectful distance away. If he needs assistance bandaging himself she's more than capable of helping, but she also doesn't want to for any more aid upon him than she already has.
"I am a healer, not a chirugeon, but I am able to tend to your wounds if you require it."

Is there something interesting there? I didn't know we had those in Genessia.

His wrapping is of course practiced enough to be decent, though he is struggling slightly for obvious reasons and glances up at her after she presents the offer. There are a number of reasons he's initially reluctant, but he decides most of those are in the past and no longer apply. "Very well, I will try to make it so you can close them."
He works himself up to his knees, taking a deep breath to clear his mind, his left hand thrusts forward suddenly as he exhales, and he reaches down, dipping it into the soil as if it were water, twisting as he seems to grip something unseen and knits his brow in concentration. It is after a few seconds that he grunts in pain, and what he has not covered of his arm worsens briefly before the thorns recede, allow his arm to quickly dye itself red with rivulets of blood. He pulls his hand free and slumps forward as he tries to will the pain away on his own and fails.
It's a familiar pain, but that makes it no less impossible to ignore with his own means. "D-Do it now, if you intend to," He breathes, clawing at the ground now with his good hand as even the very air seemed to pain the freshly opened arm with the sear of an open flame.

Era purses her lips in distaste as she watched Enno hurt himself further, even if doing so is making his wounds less severe. Seeing people in pain is something she cannot abide by - not when she's able to relieve it in some way. She waits for him to signal to her that it's okay to proceed and moves forward once he does, barely making a sound with how lightly she steps. Not that keeping quiet really matters at this point.
Having been treated by chirugeons enough to pick up a few things, Era pulls a small glass bottle of filtered water from her pocket to wash away excess dirt. The last thing she wants is to seal debris into the wounds, especially if they were as deep as she believed them to be. She ignores any sounds of discomfort and, once satisfied that there is no dirt, grass, or stone in the wounds, she places a hand aglow with aether an inch above his skin. It won't heal the injury completely, but her magic knits the broken skin back together down to the muscle. Beyond that will need time and continued treatments.
"Do not attempt that spell again without your mentor."
There had better be a mentor. She's witnessed a great number of horrors that practicing magic without a teacher's guidance can cause.

Be careful! I don't know if there's a reward worth your safety out there.

I am trained in the method of combat favoured by knights, but I am not one of their number. My husband is a true knight, however. Lord Commander of the Temple Knights of Ishgard. [ she is very proud of her bae and will extol his many talents whenever the opportunity comes up ok. ]

That's so cool... You must be so cool!

I would not say I was cool, however. Many have called me rather boring.

It is enough though, and he slowly moves his arm. It is stiff and the pain flares and stubbornly ebbs with each gentle movement as he listens to the reprimand. "It is not a spell as the scholars would deem it, but I will see who else I can turn to." He relaxes on his knees again, staring at the Auri woman and tries hard to not comment on her stature now that he can witness it in lucid clarity.
"You have my thanks, Era. Now..." He reaches down, gingerly taking hold of his sword and sheathing it, then offers a hand for her, though he does it carefully since she seems ever so easily offended. "If you will forgive a beginner's mistake; I would continue."

She decides to simply ignore it. There are more important things to focus on for the time being. Her Carbuncle has an eye on her surroundings while she's busied herself with healing and so Era is reassured that nothing will sneak up on her, yet one can never be too careful.
If it wasn't a spell that Enno used to mutilate his arm so badly Era doesn't know what it was meant to be. And for once she honestly doesn't care to learn, which is incredibly odd to her. But she can see no practical application for such an ability, save for if she was ever restrained and it could be used to free her, or as a last ditch effort to save herself from a fall of some kind.
Era hesitates for a moment before she tentatively accepts the proffered hand. She is not overly fond of physical interactions with practical strangers but she also is not overly fond of being rude (some people she left behind in both Hydaelyn and Xistentia would likely disagree), and has already given Enno the cold shoulder once.
It was not necessarily his fault that he rubbed her the wrong way during their first conversation. He was certainly rude, and should never have asked such a thing, but it wasn't as though he knew the stigma that had been associated with Dravanians and, as a result, the Au Ra as well. She had learned not so long ago that her people had been slaughtered in droves - men, women, elders, and children - without mercy, all because they were thought to have relation to dragons.
It's also entirely likely that in his world asking one about their race and heritage without first giving a proper introduction is commonplace and not considered rude. Somehow Era thinks this is probably not the case, but still.
She looks at him suspiciously as she mulls over his last words.
"Continue?"
