Catch. All. Log. :|
Who: Shinjiro Aragaki and you
What: A chance to interact with the nicer version of this guy before he gets canon updated?
When: A) Pre-Mayhem/Device Option; B) Mayhem
Where: Noodle Shop & Hospital
Style: Starting in [ action ], but feel free to respond in prose.
Warnings: Sads, drama, etc?
[pre-mayhem/work/voice option]
[After Kirijo had gone missing, Shinjiro had easily taken to the streets to begin his search for her. He'd messaged Aki to let him know what was going on; he hoped that they'd search, find her...and that everything would continue on, like normal. Well, as "normal" as they could, in a place that wasn't their home. It wasn't long before Shinjiro discovered their fellow SEES member wasn't the only one missing.
It was at this time, he'd made a voice message:]
...Heh. Guess people're bein' spirited outta here, left and right, huh? [A brief pause.] I know most've you probably got your own friends to look for, but if anyone happens to hear anything, regarding Sanada Akihiko or Kirijo Mitsuru, please lemme know.
[He hadn't shown his face. There was no reason to. At least that was what he'd told himself. The real reason was that he didn't want his face shown, in that...particular moment.]
~*~
[Work sucks. On top of finding himself short two roommates, he was having to work way extra to make up for a lack of income. On the- "bright" side, he isn't being given enough time to really dwell on anything.
So, he can be found at the local noodle shop, nearly all the time. He's always moving, always doing something, so it's best to catch him on his lunch break. That's, seriously, the only time the guy stops.
Even then, he tends to not take the full hour, each time. Maybe being talked to would do him some good, all things considered.]
[hospital/mayhem]
[During this time, he can be found digging people out of the debris. At first, the shock of it all isn't allowing him to really think. This is a good thing, considering it's not giving him the chance to freak out. With a mask of calm, he's moving non-stop. With that fortunate aspect, people are being saved.
Of course, eventually, it's starting to get to him. As those that are more buried, or simply harder to get to, are proving next to impossible to save, he's...getting a bit worked up. Which isn't a good thing, on any level. Halfway through, the being within him...is becoming restless...and making it difficult to think. Periodically, the brunette can be found leaning against something, hand to the side of his head.
No...he doesn't have time for this...
People need...saving, damn it.]

[Asch wasn't usually someone who went out of their way without some purpose. But really if asked why he liked the place well, his answer would have to be Shinji. Usually you get these tellers and waitresses and all that crap coming up to you with bright smiles and ready to share their life story. Shinji was all about hard work and when they did talk a small amount it wasn't unpleasant.]
[That was saying something.]
[He moved into the shop and brought down the hood of the jacket he was wearing, long red hair tied back in a ponytail and stuffed inside the jacket to hide it from the world and not give himself away. This was his usual appearance as of late as he tried to avoid his old roommates.]
[He highly doubted that he could slide by with some flimsy and vague excuse as he had with the few acquaintances who he ran into on the streets or at his new job in the local library.]
[Asch sat down at his usual table, in his usual position with those usual eyes turning to find whoever was working today to make his usual order.]
[Video] Pre-Mayhem
They've probably left Genessia.
Hospital/Mayhem :D
Teetering with instability, and mostly forming a rock-hard exterior only bent on doing what he could, Rekka came up on Shinjiro and rested his hand on the other's shoulder when he found him leaning against a stable surface.
Rekka didn't speak, his only serious look only conveying that he was here to help the stranger with saving others.
The teen brushed passed him and started digging into the debris. Rekka was a little stronger than Shiniro, and thus was able to lift more weight. But he might need help with some of this.]

Well, seeing that guy wasn't the biggest surprise, ever. He had actually wondered where the hell the guy had been, for a little while, there. After watching the waitress approach the redhead, Shinjiro was already in the process of preparing the food that Asch usually ordered.
It didn't take long to make. In fact, since he was about to go on break, he went ahead and started a batch for two. Why not?
After letting the waitress know there was no point in punching in the order, since he'd pay for both of the bowls, he was clocking out for the next hour. With that, the brunette headed over to the table, sliding the bowl in front of the older teen, without a word. Then, he seemed to be contemplating something.
One thing that might be apparent is just how exhausted the guy looked. While he was never the peppiest of workers, he usually held some level of high-energy. No, instead, each action carried some level of weariness. The circles under his eyes, even within the relaxed lighting of the restaurant, might be visible.
Finally, after the short pause, he somewhat awkwardly asked the question.] Care if I join you?
[Suddenly being the only person from his world, aside from a kid that held some level of...distance...from him, was not easy to get used to. While he wasn't ever going to admit to being lonely, the sole reason for him putting up his facade was...gone. Without a warning. Maybe Shinjiro had been crazy, or something, but he'd been assuming one teeny tiny detail:
Because he, Aki, and Kirijo had come in together, they'd leave together.]
...I figured as much.
[There was a pause.]
Still. I'm not gonna just give up on findin' 'em.

When he felt that hand, he glanced back with a start. His expression fell, just a tiny bit, upon seeing it was someone he didn't know. He'd stupidly thought, for a second, that it could be-
Stop, damn it. They're gone.
Forcing his thoughts to a standstill, briefly, he watched the stranger move onward. Brow furrowing, he quickly urged himself to pull it together. Closing his eyes just for a moment, he urged Castor into silence. Well, more like he put every ounce of focus into moving himself forward. Reaching down to help the other young man when he saw him struggling, the brunette remained silent.
Time to do what they could to save the rest.]
You're going to wear yourself out.
[Gray noticed how tired he looked.]

The debris was easily moved with the both of them.]

[This...thing was good. The red head sighs, leaning on the palm of his hand and for a moment glancing out the window. He'll have to take a more hands on approach, go around and start studying the world itself if he had any hopes of uncovering any of its secrets. But that was a lot to take on for one man.]
[Maybe it was time he went back to that place, if not just to ask Jade for his assistance.]
[It wasn't that he despised them or anything, it was just...he didn't want to deal with the looks or the questions. Didn't want to face his replica since when he died he had just acted so...pathetic.]
[He let's out a deep sigh, and then suddenly the sound of approaching footsteps catches his ear. Asch turns to register the person, expecting it to be the waitress again only to be met with Shinjiro. His eyes lower for a moment, and then he's sitting up so that he could turn to fully face his unexpected visitor.]
....Do as you like.
[Asch wasn't usually the type to eat with others. Their was the few times around a fire with his men and of course those times with Luke's group but when it came to times like this where their was a chance at conversation...well...he was in the habit of rejecting such things since he wasn't really allowed to talk about his life.]
[He was the general in charge of special ops, as well as a man who was supposed to be living a sheltered life in a mansion back in Kimlasca. But he had enjoyed the few small conversations with the cook, and he had brought and made his meal.]
[Also...he may have been feeling rather lonely himself.]
....
[Green eyes glance up just before he takes a bite, acting as if this next question hadn't been on his mind since he'd first caught his eye.]
You look tired...
I'll be fine. [Totally fine. Really.
There was a short pause after that, and he let out a sigh.] If I don't find 'em...or hear anything, by tomorrow...I'll try to get some rest.
[...Maybe. It wasn't that simple, considering he had to keep the roof over his head.
He couldn't bring himself to up and switch to a smaller place, just yet.]

Even if he hadn't exactly been sleeping, due to the constant worry he'd been feeling for Aki and Kirijo. Then, the whole situation with Ken that had yet to be resolved. There had already been a lot weighing on him, prior to the current mess. Of course, that stuff all seemed so...tedious, by that point. So small in comparison.
Because, the more recent stuff...involved people's lives being at stake.]
You okay? [He called out to the people that were just buried, before leaning down to begin helping one of them out of there. Apparently one of them was unable to move their legs, and would have to be carried from there. The second he heard the little old lady's response, he glanced to the one that had shown up to help him- he should probably get his name, at some point.]
You fine with carryin' her, while I help the other two? [Shinjiro was okay with either job, he was simply suggesting something, considering limited time. Plus, from what he could tell, it honestly seemed the stranger would have an easier time and would move quicker.]

The teen glanced at the other for a moment.] Don't worry, I can handle it.
[He seemed confident with his tone as he knocked aside a few more cement chunks before hopped down where the people were. Rekka leaned in to help one get to their feet, and then the other. Once he was sure they were stable on foot, he climbed back up out of the rocky pit and leaned over to help them get out.]
