Friggin Granite Faeries [Action/Search Log] Backdated 4/30
It's no secret that, due to the last barrier breach, The Maw had become the most interesting locale in their increasingly mysterious world. Or at least, that's why Ted thought Arro suggested the search, which he was only too happy to accept. Granted, he'd have to wear his ugly suit. Again. But Arro had already seen it, as had Satou on a separate expedition. That left Azure, an acquaintance Ted had yet to
"Huh! Arro hasn't mentioned you. Forgive him, he can be a titch single-minded. I'm Ted; yourself?"
He'd do the usual meeting with onomastics, curious about the stranger. Well, on to adventure! More stressful than he'd hoped, what with the presence of not one, but two women! He'll have to kick his chivalry into high gear.
Or at least his goku uniform; a pitch-black and, in his view, ugly thing that nonetheless would prove very useful in keeping them connected by its superhuman-strong threads while they wandered through a maze of underground rock columns. Their journey was long and, for the first few hours, uneventful, Ted happy to provide distraction by chattering about the esoteric book he'd read that week.
"So you see, there's a marked difference in the 'I' of 'I-It' and the 'I' of 'I-Thou'. The latter-"
The word "latter" echoed fiercely through the cavern, none too pleasant to their ears. Ted vowed to keep his rambling to a whisper.
The scenery grew more macabre as they advanced, the featureless stone gradually becoming personable. One could swear a face or even a statue was embedded into the rock itself. Ted eventually found their sinister surroundings so absorbing that he, clumsy fool that he is, tripped. And with a trip, a sharp "Ah!"
That yelp, caused more by shock than pain, deafened their motley crew. Yet by that loss of sense they'd gain another. It was as though reality had given way to fairyland, for the landscape changed in diverse ways. Rocks appeared to switch places, further muddling their already faint sense of direction. More importantly, amidst the dull grey appeared gems that delighted the eye, like stars peeking in through the night sky. They looked quite valuable; Ted just had to get a closer look...
Meanwhile, Arro and Satou would sense that their were mischief-makers in their midst: granite fairies. Only their soundless state could let the fay's existence invade their own, and they took the time to maliciously laugh and tell their sob story.
That gave Ted's covetousness pause; he began to empathize with the colonists, who saw a savage, worthless people and could think of little better than wiping them out and taking their stuff. Especially those green gems; he'd know their like and inestimable worth anywhere. Those he insisted on having at all costs, or would once the group could hear again. Surrounded by wicked fairies, petrified victims, and precious stones, what ever will our heroes do?

"I'm Azure Rosentine, a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."
While the journey was long and so was his chattering, she was rude and was not really taking in a lot of what he was explaining. She was more focused on their environment and making sure that they were making safe headway.
When his words became painful, she couldn't help but feel something was becoming increasingly wrong, which became proven to her as the landscape morphed and twisted around them. She placed a hand on her sword, eyes narrowed in suspicion as fay surrounded and taunted them. She looked over to Arro for guidance on if he had a better idea of what was going on.
