[Action]

[Matt was glad these cities had parks. He had wanted to put himself through his paces for a while now and he needed to stretch out to do it. He'd forgotten what it felt like to just let his powers loose and sink into them like nothing else mattered. He stood in the middle of a patch of grass and just let go. Flips, somersaults, kicks Matt put himself through his paces. His senses were completely open to the world around him and for the first time in a long time he let himself be the person he wanted to be, not the person everyone else wanted him to be. He could sense other people around him, but he didn't give a damm if they stopped to watch. Right now was for him and he wasn't trying to impress anyone. He was just letting himself be Daredevil, the part of himself, maybe the only part he was comfortable with anymore.]

[Matt appears on camera looking a little nervous. He's never had to ask about a job before, he's always been either offered one or worked for himself, so this is a giant leap. He needs something to distract his mind and he needs it now.]

Hello, for anyone who hasn't met me before...my name is Matt Murdock and I find myself in need of a job. I'm trying to save up to start my own law office and I'm a little short. I'm a quick study and smart, so I can pick up any skill. I've run my own office and I have a decent combat skill set if anyone needs security. Please don't let my lack of sight turn you away... I'm a decent worker if a bit broody at times.

It's so nice to meet you, Matt!

Most of the cities have law enforcement. Us captives take care of a lot of the policing, and we can always use people who have studied law.

Broody? Never heard anyone admit that about themselves before. [She's amused.]

We're hiring at Torchwood, though I don't know if all the legal books have been converted to braille and audio yet, if they haven't, then I'll scrape together something with parts from Nova, so long as you'll handle all the legal patenting and copyright stuff, yeah?

Otherwise, I think the cities are all in need of criminal defense, but I guess it depends on what your specialty is, yeah?

[Matt smiles and shakes his head]

Don't worry about that Miss Tyler. I'm actually an enhanced human. My senses are higher then most and I can read print with my bare hands. I can also hear heartbeats over the network as well as being able to tell if someone is lying. I would actually need most audio to be turned down in some cases. I'd be happy to work with Torchwood. Can you tell me a little bit about what you do?

At the moment our biggest project is ethical alternative food sources for nonhumans. We're also working on implementing a Haunted House with adjacent non-human friendly restaurant for those who uh... feed on fear. [YEAH THAT IS REALLY WEIRD TO SAY OUT LOUD.] Oh, and we do a lot of cannibalizing parts from Nova to supplement the needs of the other cities that aren't as technologically adept, and alternative marketing for devices with more than one suitable purpose.

And some entertainment stuff because well... marketing really.

[This is why she hired Thatch, she can't even begin to explain Torchwood.]

Interesting.....so you are looking for ways to safely synthesis things like blood as well as working with older technology. Interesting...did I mention one of my abilities is being able to taste different ingredients. I can also scent different emotions...weird but true.

[He chuckles]

I actually think I'd fit in well with your group. I can keep you from getting mired in legal issues and you wouldn't need a lie detector.

[Laughs.] In that case I might just employ you personally to check out any future boyfriens.

We're currently based in Everglade, and we've got vampires, youkai, and other aliens comin' in and out all the time, not a problem with you, yeah?

[Matt laughs and shakes his head]

I know indestructible men, ninjas. woman with super strength, immortals and my ex boyfriend was a Jedi Knight aliens and vampires are normal for me.

I'd be happy to act as a human screener, wouldn't be the first time.

[Laughs.] You'll definitely fit right in then. I almost feel underwelming just to be normal human. Good thing there's no such thing as normal, yeah?

[Matt laughs]

We are all a bit broken inside aren't we?

[Soft grin, and she wonders if he can hear her heartbeat pangs at that through the comm. Might be something to work on.]

Seems that way. Maybe that's the true test of how people wind up here, yeah?

[He can hear the skips for sure and believe me he understands how much being broken hurts. But he's learned never to comment or guess at what he's hearing. He hates people who pry into his life so he's not going to pry himself.]

I suppose so....I'm still not sure how I feel about being here myself.

Ah really? [Perks right up, since this is her area of expertise rather than weakness!]

See, me? I lucked right out! I'd been travelin' between universes before this, tryin' ta get back to my boyfriend, and then he was gonna exile a clone of 'imself to the universe my parents were stayin' in, and wanted me to stay with 'im, the clone.

So then I wind up here, and first off, no hell, end of the world, travesties right and left someone has to fix or all that noise, my boyfriend is here from before shippin' me out, and what's more, his future friends were too.

Then it got... crazier and madder, and even more wonderful ever since. But I can actually talk about those things instead'a havin' to keep 'em secret, and I'm not gonna get sectioned for bein' mental, and I get to play bass or go on mad flyin' motorcycle rides with my best friends, so I consider myself very very lucky indeed.

Buuuuut I'm completely spoiled. And I know it.

For what it's worth though, that's why I was so determined to get Torchwood goin' again here. For my friends who kind of can't figure out their place in the universe when they're not the ones stuck havin' to save it, yeah?

[Matt can't make sense of half of what Rose is saying but he can tell she is telling the truth through the whole thing so he doesn't question any of it, just listens and takes it all in.]

I wish I could say I'd have had the same experience, but sadly I can't. Story of my life really...I get settled and everything completely falls apart.

Seeee? That's your problem right there. Gettin' settled. Nevar settle.

[It's funny joking about this when it's basically the last fight she had again with 12, but yup. And it does make her feel better, more certain of her path and choices.]

I work with as a Detective in Everglade, but our laws are very unusual. I can speak positively of the Guardians and Deputies in Attleton, though.

[Matt chuckles]

Hey even superheros deserve some quiet time. Settling isn't easy but it's worth it.

I'm always willing to take on freelance work as needed.

Nope! [Makes a face, which she realizes he can't even see.] Settling is the worst!

I am going to stay on the road forever and ever and ever, and no one can tie me down and make me be [EXAGGERATED GASP.] respectable.

I can tell working for you isn't going to be boring.
