[Hikari appears on-screen looking part exasperated, part concerned. Although, after a momentary internal struggle, the exasperation appeared to win out as she began her broadcast with a heavy sigh.]

I'm sorry, but...does anybody in Genessia have an idea on how to get a Pokemon out of a tree?

[And in the event anyone suspected she was joking or speaking in metaphors, she briefly panned the camera of her device over just enough to see...sure enough, that was definitely Abra hanging out in one of the higher branches. Looking far more tense than usual as it alternated between looking down from his right to his left.]

He was practicing his teleporting, and...I think he's stuck up there.

[Anyone walking by the local park at that particular moment will come across a rather strange sight; a young girl just shy of 15 would be aiming her camera up at a nearby tree, snapping several pictures before smiling sheepishly.]

What? It was a cute moment.

[Is she...talking to the tree?]

[Oh, wait, no; upon closer inspection, there appeared to be a little Abra sitting atop one of the higher branches. Far beyond her reach, but not too far for her to call up to him.]

Maybe next time, you'll be more careful instead of trying to show off.

Where are you, roughly?

[Hikari recognized the man on the other end from a previous network broadcast, but beyond that, he was mostly unfamiliar to her. Friendly, from a first impression, and she certainly wouldn't fault someone for offering to help.]

[Her head dipped modestly, and she paused long enough not to seem like she was taking advantage of his kindness before nodding lightly.]

If it's not too much trouble; the branches are a bit too high for me to reach.

[She wasn't that short for her age, though it often felt like she was considering she typically spent time around older--and taller--individuals.]

We're at the park. Maybe two or three kilometers from the main entrance on the middle pathway. Where the big, open field is.

Which city are you both in? I do not mind offering aid.

You're in Genessia City proper, right? I'll be there as soon as I can.

[It's not a problem, as honestly he's seen a few of these strange creatures, and learned a few names. He still has questions though, so while he's moving it's a good time to ask.]

Is that what that creature is called, a Pokemon?

[Takeru knew he shouldn't look amused. Abra getting stuck in a tree was amusing either way. But he was at least putting on a concerning look when he finally answers.]

Can't he just...teleport down?

I have a Pokémon that might be able to help him down. Well, at least give him a very soft landing.

That thing's a Pokemon? The only one I've seen looked like a bird.

You could punch or shake the tree to scare him out of it maybe?

[Hikari paused long enough to think on whether she had heard the voice before or not. If it sounded familiar, it would have been more in passing than from any past direct conversation.]

We're in Genessia right now. In the park, somewhat close to main entrance, I think.

I wouldn't want you to go out of your way if that's too far.

[She nodded in response to both questions.]

That's what I've been told.

Specifically, a kind of Pokemon called an Abra. There are others. Different kinds and types with different looks and abilities. You may see them around the city, depending upon the time of day and who you speak with.

[She was appreciate of the offer...but also a touch hesitant.]

Which Pokemon...may I ask?

An Altaria. She's very gentle and her wings are like cotton.

[...really, Masaru? You're suggesting that she punch or shake a tree?]

There's different kinds of Pokemon. Like there are different kinds of Digimon.

And I don't want to scare him. I just want to help him get down safely.

[Her first thought when she heard "wings" was to picture and Angel-like creature. Like Angewomon or Angemon.]

[Of course, it was just as likely this Altaria was simply a bird, like Natu, so she shoved the nostalgic mental image from her mind and offered a smile of gratitude as she nodded her head.]

If she would be willing to help us, Abra and I would be most grateful.

[Oh, Hikari had every confidence that he was enjoying this far more than he let on. Considering the tension between the two, and how often Abra walked--or 'ported--away having the upper hand.]

He's too tired. I think he ran out of energy from teleporting up there.

It's not too far. I can be there in ten minutes or so. Would that be acceptable?

Ah, okay. I wondered, given I've seen a lot of them around and if that was the 'native' life-form to these cities. Which sounds kind of stupid, now that I think about it--sorry.

By the way, I'm Trunks. I've been here about a month or so now, but there's still a lot to get used to here. You're in one of the parks, can you tell me which one?

Do you think maybe we could find someone with a ladder?

[That would work in they knew anyone who had one, maybe.]

I don't think they are. There are many of them, and they do seem to be handling life in Genessia well enough...but I'm sure I heard about them coming from a different world, just like the rest of us.

I'm Hikari. [A light bow of her head followed. Habit.] The main one in Genessia city.

... Yeah, I guess the way I used to get our cat off the roof of our house doesn't work for everybody.

What about luring him down with food? What does Abra eat?

Oh, yes! [And though it was only an audio feed, habit had her lightly nodding her head in agreement. Also partial relief.] That would be more than acceptable.

Otherwise...I don't know anyone who might have one that I know of. Not off the top of my head.

Strawberries, mainly. [When he's not chucking them at people he doesn't like.] Or any kind of berries, I think. I've seen him go for blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and even cranberries.

But the problem isn't luring him down. He'd come down if he could. The problem is that he used all his psychic energy teleporting himself up there and doesn't have any left to get himself down.

Huh. And I'm guessing it just doesn't recharge that easy?

I could try to climb up and get him, but uh, I've had some problems doing that kinda thing. I tried to get Agumon off the roof of our house once and we both fell off...

About as well as you or I might be able to recharge without eating.

...and I wouldn't want that to happen here. [Her lips twisted in a small frown at the thought.] Were you badly hurt then?

Oh no, I was fine. I was just unconscious for a few hours.
