Action for Genessia | Eventual Video

[He had several questions, upon waking up. An uncomfortable concoction of emotions and reactions bubbling around inside of him, all demanding he do something.

... So he collected his communicator. And the money he'd woken up beside. And then he consulted the hologram, memorizing every word. He went outside, and grabbed the appropriate pamphlets, reading it all very carefully, noting well the map.

At some point, anyone down by the bay would find him sitting, calm, at least by all appearances, slowly scrolling through the communicator, reading, listening to, and watching every single post he could access.

Granted, if anyone came near, they'd find themselves being addressed.]

Excuse me, if I may have a moment of your time?

[And there he is, looking calm, cool and confident. Still outside, apparently, the sounds of street traffic make that pretty clear]

Before I begin introducing myself, is there anyone present who knows what I mean when I say I'm currently looking for members of the Voltron Coalition?

Not that she needed the backup, if one was to go by the massive spiked shield on her back and the winged mace hanging heavily at her hip. But, you know, convenient story.

"Do you find yourself the center of trouble very often?" He asks this while noting the shield and the armor and the scars and the everything else.

He knows the answer.

But you need to say it out loud so he knows that you know you're a trouble maker, Alley.

"Of course," there's even a faint smile at that. "The center of trouble is where I do my best work."

He knew a subtle insistence when he heard one. There was no reason not to go. He didn't have to get drunk. One drink to nurse at the bar, if it was alcoholic at all.

"Very well, if you truly require it." He goes to stand, clearly he can't just sit here and get to the bar.

All six foot seven of him.

Look, the purple guy isn't one of hers, but Alley has a serious lack of any of hers around to manage.

So. You know.

He'll do.

...That's a lot of non-elf, though. "Well, you're a tall one. Almost a short qunari."

Hey, any port in a storm, right? He may as well get a little tour of the areas around here. Might come in handy later, and as always, making alliances is important.

"A full blooded Galra tends to be a full head taller than myself, if not more." He's little compared to the side of the family that raised him. Of course, the name of yet another race thrown in here that he isn't familiar with is something filed away for later.

"I don't suppose there are any books I could find that could detail information on the various worlds that have met here?" A lot better than standing around playing the twenty questions game.

"Well, there's the Genessia Scientific Research Foundation, or GSRF, but I'm not sure they go around cataloging what worlds are represented here so much as they try to figure out what here is," Alleyana turned on her heel to lead the way while she spoke, of course. "But if anyone's accumulated that info, it's probably them."

"I'll look into it." He really is curious. A mash of so many different universes, all brought into one place. He's rather surprised it's still standing.

Culture clashes between different planets can be stressful enough, he couldn't even imagine how trying it could be with different universes altogether.

"Where is it that you wished to have a drink?"

"Velvet's the closest place I still have a tab open from last time," Alleyana's walking speed wouldn't likely seem too slow for the tall guy, at least. The Inquisitor may have short legs by comparison, but she could march.

"I'm one of the lucky bastards that's been bounced back and forth between my world and this place a few times."

It wouldn't be too fast at all, considering he was still taking in the sights. He kept up well enough, she might actually have to slow down a little for him as he committed the place to memory.

"You've returned home more than once? What do you recall, from when you arrived back home? Did you return at the moment that you had originally left?"

"As far as I could tell, yeah," Alleyana did, in fact, slow down a hair. "Same season, same weather."

Alone at the time she'd been yanked into this reality, it was hard to be sure. It wasn't like Thedas had smartphones.

"Pretty sure I spent a whole handful of seconds back on Thedas before ending up here again. Not enough time to really process much; I recently woke up here for the third time. Something's determined to keep me here."

Or someone. Solas was still high on the suspects list for the Inquisitor; how convenient it would be to have her shuffled off to another world while he worked on dismantling Thedas for his own goals...

"Fascinating..." And by the sound of it, she recalled returning. None of this potential copy garbage. Good, he'd been concerned.

"Then perhaps I should see this as some form of... enforced vacation." We're gonna try to do the optimism thing, it seemed. He'll do his best.

"It does lend credence to my theory that the dimension itself may have some form of sentience."

"Maybe. There's those spirit... things, that run this place. At one point while I was here before, the barriers around the cities went down and a ton of them flooded in here. They were... empty? Like, they wanted to absorb emotion from us."

Alley considered where the thought was leading her for a moment. "Makes me wonder if we're, you know, just emotion-food for this place, or something. Wouldn't be the most fucked up thing I wandered into by a long shot."

His nose wrinkled in distaste. "An unpleasant thought, being used as food." In any sense, frankly. He wasn't really in any kind of rush to feed some spirit his feelings.

Lord knew he barely liked dealing with them himself. Feeding someone them seemed to imply he'd have to go ahead and... you know, have them.

"Every question I ask only adds more to give."

"Not used to not having all the answers, huh?" And here they were! Alley slowed down and then pushed open the heavy oaken door to Velvet. Good thing it was night, right?

"I think it's pretty much a given to be out of your depth when you just got pulled into a whole other world."

Yes.

"That is hardly the case." Except it is. Thank god they're at the bar or else he'd have to give a reason why it's not the case.

"... Interesting choice of decor." Nice neon sign.

Being at the bar won't save you, Lotor.

"What's not the case?" Alleyana raised a scar-crossed eyebrow. "Being out of your element is a normal thing for you?"

She glanced up at the sign before leading the way inside. "...Yeah, well, I guess I forgot to mention it's a gay bar."

Whoops.

Yes it will, shut up you.

"May I ask why this conversation intrigues you so?" STOP ASKING.

Gay bar. It took him a second to actually process what that was. It's a very human term after all, as well as binary sexuality in space, but after a moment-

"... Ah. Well. I'm sure that won't be an issue." Trust him, he's very, very used to attention.

"And another dodge, just like that," Alleyana shook her head, "fine, don't answer. Pretty sure I'm right anyway."

SO THERE.

"--Yeah, well. There's rules in this place," and the Inquisitor gestured to where they were posted on the wall, written and framed, on her way to the actual bar within. "Makes it a good place for getting your bearings. Just don't go upstairs unless flashing lights and loud music is your thing, which would surprise me -- all buttoned-up as you are."

He'll take that exit without addressing it. How dare you.

"You'd be correct. I'm not interested in lights and music." It's not because he's buttoned up, it's because he doesn't like it.

"I'd rather set about getting my bearings here. What do they have for drinks?" Since he's at a bar and he'll have to drink something, and he'd rather it not be water because that gets you weird looks in a bar.

"Booze, tea... and probably boozey tea," Alleyana snorted at that, and approached Bob at the bar.

The cheerful human squinted at Lotor for a moment, then grinned. "Oh, a newcomer! ...I would never put booze in tea, Inquisitor!"

"Well he could always add it in himself."

"I don't need the alcohol. Tea please." That much he knew of human drinks. Tea was usually pretty damn nice.

Bob poured a cup of the lovely oolong that was always at the ready, and slid it over before turning to Alley.

"Two surprises of the alcoholic variety."

That's right, two. You're not getting away that easily, buddy. When Bob slid two 'surprises' over as well, the Inquisitor dropped the requisite red bills on the bar and tried to pass one of the new drinks to Lotor, too.

"You don't gotta finish it, just take the edge off a little."

He looked vaguely offended by this development. Only vaguely, he took his alcohol free tea and went to sample it.

"I'm fine."

TM.

"So you keep saying," Alleyana went ahead and slung herself up into one of the bar stools, which creaked ever so faintly at the weight of all that dragonbone armor and weaponry on her. "Having done this three times now myself, I gotta say I'm still not believing that. You afraid you'll lose some composure if you have a sip of something stronger?"
