Who: Azure Rosentine and Sync

Sync was at the appointed meeting site, opting to take a different approach for how he handled his first interview. Since this was going to be a new part of his work; he decided to go for trying different methods to evaluate until he settled on one that he enjoyed the most for gauging someone's abilities. This time, he was seated in view, and waiting, had been for a while to one; make sure the place was clear of threats, and two; see if this person was going to be the type to check a place before-hand as well, though he was here quite a while before most would be to case a location since it gave him time to enjoy some breakfast.

While he might seem brash, preparation made quite a bit of difference in the end for his usual results. That and confidence in his abilities. However, this new person sounded timid and unsure over the voicemail left; which gave him serious reservations about the kind of work they did. Appearing unimposing would actually be a bonus, but if they really were unimposing he would have to tell them to consider other work.

Azure was wary over this meeting and leaving a message on a voicemail that clearly didn't want any messages left. But Arro had encouraged her and said that everything should be okay. There was not much more that appealed to her previous line of work and she did need to make a bit more money aside from her job as a Combat/Protective Specialists when needed for GSRF. The swordswoman was sure the doctor was bending the truth a bit but went along with everything regardless, mostly because this was the only way to prove who was right or wrong.

Azure made her way to the meeting place early. She had not thought to scope it out in advance mostly because she didn't think that that was wanted or needed with a meeting. Perhaps when it came to an actual job she would. Sometimes fire, a sword, and skills just weren't enough sadly.

Stepping into the area, the woman kept a hand on the hilt of her blade as eyes took in the area before landing on the lounging teen. She couldn't help but notice he was oozing with confidence, not something bad, but could be if it went to one's head. Tilting her head curiously, she spoke, no waiver in her voice.

"Are you Sync?"

Looking up, he greeted Azure with the placid canvas of his mask. That caution of hers was a good start at least.

"Yeah. Are you Azure?" He asked in turn, motioning her over. While she seemed confident now; she was going to have to deal with others as a direct part of the job and if she faltered on her people skills, they might lose business. Then again, if someone successfully passed initiation; Sync also suspected some would take her on just by merit of her being employed there to begin with.

"Correct."

Azure made her way over to him, stopping short just out of hitting range. She wasn't too sure what all to expect and she didn't want to be caught off guard for her interview. She found the mask odd but supposed there was a good reason for it, like hiding a horrendous scar that he sings underneath an opera house about.

"Good. You ready for your interview? You are early." Which he decided wasn't a bad thing, being more thorough would have suited his tastes, but he'll take it.

He pushes his food away from him and stands up, his demeanor serious as he appraised her silently for a few moments.

"Yes sir, I am ready. It's not a problem that I came early, is it?" Azure answered, noting he had eaten breakfast beforehand.

When he stood she was a bit surprised at his height considering he wasn't much taller than her. Did this mean he was younger than her or just plain short? It was hard to tell, she was sure she'd figure it out eventually.

"I prefer people that come early; the job is to protect the client, and letting them walk into an ambush before we even arrive is bad for business." He stated after a moment.

Now he moved closer, noting that she was shorter than he, and questioned now Namur's business practices again, but Rowan was working out pretty well so it wasn't worth being upset over.

"We'll start with the most straightforward task, take me here in the fastest, safest way possible." He held out a slip of paper with an address on it for her to take.

Taking it, she recognized it thankfully due to her studying the area since coming to this place. Folding it up, she placed it in a pocket before turning in the direction she believed best.

"Follow me, please." Azure requested, starting to walk while making sure he was indeed following.

"Sure." He replied, following her before pausing and looking off to one side, walking that direction instead.

"Please don't." Azure told him firmly. Thanking her instincts to look back at him. Placing her hands on her hips she watched to see what he decided to do.

Stopping, Sync paused and looked back her. "What?" He replied, looking forward again before turning around and coming back.

"I asked you to follow, if you would be so kind, let's start this way." Azure said, pointing right as she waited to see what he wanted to do.

"What's faster about this way?" He asked after a moment, not moving just yet.

"Making a left from here brings you down the street and practically there. Going the way you wanted involves two or more right turns which would not be the fasters way possible that you requested of me." She stated patiently, she had a feeling he was going to make this as difficult as possible for her.

"That way seems dangerous. Isn't your job to protect me?" He replied flatly. Yes he was going to make this as difficult as possible, because that was what the clients tended to do for their own reasons.

"It is indeed my job to protect you. Why do you believe it's dangerous the way I intend to take you?" She asked, realizing he was probably acting like one of the more problematic customers at this point.

"I dunno. Wouldn't keeping to the open areas be safer?" This being the most common question in his experience. Though it will also depend on her ability to protect should the need arise.

"Having a side to protect is the best way to go. It helps keep those fighting focused and less likely to be ambushed when all sides are not protected, such as that in a wide open space." She explained patiently. While she could indeed protect all sides of her as long as a person wasn't fire resistant, she knew it was best to leave magic for last unless in desperate need.

There was a very long pause. "Alright." He replied before moving in the direction she had indicated. It was a good answer, and while that might not pacify everyone; she had demonstrated enough common sense to at least handle eighty percent of their customers. She was also demonstrating a cool head despite problems, which was another good point.

She tried to hold back the sigh of relief from Sync finally cooperating with her. She started leading him in the correct direction, making sure to keep a wary eye on him in case he wanted to wander off again.

Following her this time obediently, he waited until they were at the destination.

"Good so far. You didn't see any threats?"

I saw plenty of potentials, but until a move is made towards us I don't consider them a true threat.

[Even at their destination she was acting guarded, keeping an eye out still to see if he had one more trick up his sleeve.]

Good.

[He enjoyed that assessment. Being on guard but no paranoid was important.]

What about when I'm attack after you've dropped me off?

[Ooohh, this one was hard.]

If I remember the rules of the contract properly, you are no longer under my care so I'm not contractually obligated to protect you.

You got it.

[It seemed well enough that he could cap the test here, nodding his head.]

Alright, so now that the practical is over, how do you feel? This was an easy one obviously.

I feel well enough. When will I know how you feel about me?

[A fair question, he gives it a bit of thought, and decides sooner is better.]

[You know, with his voicemail that sounds like a dead-end.]
