[Behold, a man in his forties wearing a very dapper blue coat and trilby combination, strolling through Genessia City.

He seems to have all of the new-arrival gear with him as he's glancing about, though he doesn't seem confused or ill at ease. If anything, he has the air of being utterly fascinated by the city surrounding him. When he speaks, he's smiling, giving a faint air of playfulness in his tone of voice.]

Well then. I certainly don't believe I expected to be whisked off out of the blue quite like this. Or at least, rather, if it was going to happen, I wouldn't have expected to be somewhere quite so vast and interesting. What a curious place this is.

And what a curious device this is as well! It's rather convenient, I must say, being able to simply send one's face and voice out to the pockets of everyone in the entire city. I do hope anyone watching this might be able to give me some helpful information about this strange land I seem to have appeared in.

[With a slightly more serious tone, he asks:]

And I must ask if it is true that no one is quite aware of how to leave this place. I do think my students and fellow teaching staff would be rather put out if I simply stopped showing up to class.

[Don't mind the fact that maybe the view is an extreme close up. He's still learning this Muggle technology from the future. None the less; Newt is glad to hear and see Albus and has put some of his anxieties to rest. Outside of still - you know not knowing how to get back and still working on where is okay to be a wizard and isn't. Everything meshed together is a little confusing]

Professor Dumbledore!

[That definitely takes him aback -- other people are here! People he knows!

When he sees Newt's reply, his expression shifts from surprise to a friendly, happy smile.]

Newt! I hadn't realized that you'd been corralled into this strange place as well.

[A warm smile back and a soft]

Yes.

Where are you?

[Because he's excited to see a familiar face that he likes in a very strange place]

[Ten is totally not thread creeping when he hears someone say; 'Professor Dumbledore' and the other response to that name. It's a younger Albus - so no spoilers. Even if Ten is tempted to say - have you considered a long white beard? And knowing the lay of the land very well at this point - will probably bet Newt to Albus- opps]

Hallo. Welcome to Genessia.

[He returns the smile, though at the question he emits a low 'hmm' noise.

He spots two street signs and reads them before answering:] The corner of Thistle Avenue and 14th Street, it appears.

Hello! [He looks at the stranger responding to him with a friendly smile at his device.] Thank you for the welcome. I don't suppose you might be able to provide me a little more information about where exactly I am?

[Ten feels so giddy! Meeting such a legendary and fictional character from his universe and offers a handshake]

I'm The Doctor.

[And stops himself from saying you're Professor Dumbledore or Albus or something like that. He is very enthusiastic, however, and maybe very old- according to those brown eyes and pops his mouth for a moment]

You're in a bubble of the multiverse.

Very nice to meet you, Doctor.

[He shakes Ten's hand warmly and with a friendly smile, though he can sense something odd about the man -- something not exactly magical, per se, or at least not a magic he's familiar with, but certainly something more than Muggle.

And old. There's something very aged about him that seeps out of his appearance, like he's a relic or an ancient being.

Then again, that assertion seems very justified when that next set of words comes out of Ten's mouth.]

Ah! [He's never experienced a multiverse before, but he's heard of such things and read theories about them. This makes him look more curious than ever.] A bubble, then? And do you have any idea how it came to be, or how it came to pick up the people it's procured?

[Tread softly. Breathe. A second passes; another, another. Gellert is intensely aware of his pulse, of the way his voice vibrates in his throat. He can't risk showing his face. Yet.

Albus is older. But Gellert will always know him.]

Professor. [There is an ironic edge to his tone, echoing the other man's playfulness - albeit darkly. They are two sides of the same coin, aren't they?] Fayren is the place for you. I will be in Everglade.

[If Ten had a dog tail; he'd really be wagging so hard that he'd be flying.]

Thank you - sir.

[Ten isn't gripping hard but he seems to have forgotten that he's still holding Albu's hand. OMG! Doctor Brown and Albus Dumbledore! Where is Kermit The Frog and Simba?]

It may possibly be a spaceship to look like a planet; which means it got lost the void of space and we're really surrounded by nothingness or it's a planet that was zapped into a lost part of space; into a bubble to be forgotten...

[The last part hits a bit close to home because Gallifrey - and Ten slowly tapers off with the hand shake]

[Of anything he could have encountered in this city, this -- this is the response that would give him the most pause.

Because, as impossible as it must be, he knows that voice -- and stranger still, he knows that voice from the past, from years ago, long before that same voice was making speeches in front of crowds of wizards and witches.

But he's already spoken to Ten, and learned of the multiverse, and seen other impossible things.

For a moment, in the video, Dumbledore looks as though he's been struck, his face a mixture of confusion, recognition, and remorse, all pulled tight in his face. And for that moment, he says nothing, reeling before he tentatively forms words:]

I see.

Hello, Gellert.

[To be the cause of that reaction - of the tension - doesn't make him feel good. Gellert is as stubborn as they come but Albus is...special. Even now. He will likely never want to let the other man go.]

Fayren houses those who prefer Light Magic. Everglade is for those who prefer Dark. [Reciting facts is easier for the moment.]

You look well.

[If Dumbledore notices or minds that Ten is still gripping his hand, he doesn't show it, smiling just as amiably is ever. Though it shifts into something like sympathy as Ten's voice trails off, the shake of his wrist suddenly slowing.]

I see. Or, I suppose, I think I understand as well as I am able to. I admit, I've never experienced anything like this before.

[Though he can guess even without Legilimency that Ten certainly has.]

I see. That is good to know. And it is good to know that there is magic here.

[His expression shifts, adjusting, looking less shocked and more pensive and melancholy. He hasn't spoken to Gellert since Ariana died, and he had deliberately avoided being in a situation where he might do so ever since. And yet, here they are, with the both of them thrown together with all the surprise of a bear trap to their legs.

Does this Gellert know what's to come, he wonders. Perhaps on some level, but not the details of exactly how, and he feels a small despair in knowing he'll need to explain.

Quietly, he says:]

You sound well. Though you sound far younger than I would have expected.

[He can't hide forever, yet he has used the time well, rearranging his expression so he doesn't look as miserable as he feels. He shouldn't feel miserable at all, really. Or so he lies to himself. Albus is his enemy and what they had before is...

It might as well be gone.]

We can blame that on Time Magic. Time Turners have gone awry, scattering their dust haphazardly. [It's a theory anyway.] I am twenty-two.

[Ten wants to go on - and explain that this isn't the work of Time Turners; and that he hasn't seen a single Time Turner here and even if The Doctor has - he doesn't think a Time Turner would work any more than his own Tardis does. But - he can't not at least till Albus opens up a bit more. Otherwise, there will be too many questions that would lead to shock and The Doctor rather avoid that shock to Albus and have Albus figure it out himself]

Anything else?

[Something in his expression shifts nostalgic when Gellert appears. In spite of everything, his heart aches at the sight of him, young and lovely and still not quite what he will become. He knows he'll never stop being a sentimental fool, but the pang of heartsickness that strikes him only underlines it then, and with the way he can't stop looking at Gellert's face.]

Have they? I suppose I should have known you'd solve the mystery before anyone else here had a chance.

[At that second part, he looks wistful.] I see. [So, young, but not so young that they still do not have Ariana and years of separation between them.] And I'm 46. Odd to think that I might be so much older than you.

[Albus is getting much the same attention. Gellert forgets to blink as he takes in the way the other man's features have changed. Albus has always been beautiful to him - both in body and mind - and age has only enhanced those traits. Leaving the Wizard behind really won't get any easier - not that he had expected it to.]

My theory is untested. [How does one test errant Time Turners? It would be a risky endeavor and that is if he can find them.]

...it doesn't matter. [His response is quick - too quick - and he feels his cheeks heat.] I can match you then and now.

[Seeing the way Gellert looks him over in turn fills him with -- affection? Regret? It's hard to name the emotions that it draws out of him, and he muses to himself that Gellert's always been the only one to create such confusion in him. He's too often clear-headed and calculated to a fault, and yet Gellert trips him without even meaning to. It was bad enough when he was a love-addled teenager, and it's strange to realize that three decades haven't really shedded it from him.]

Ah. Pity, that. It would be fascinating if true.

[In spite of the heat in Gellert's cheeks, that reaction draws a small, sad smile from Dumbledore's face.] I know you can. I know that all too well.

[It is curious to him that the man clearly is an Occlumens, or whatever magic he has seems to be hiding his thoughts. He wonders if it's even conscious -- little leaks of thoughts come through, but not enough to paint a real picture. Dumbledore finds it all very interesting, but alas, he knows well enough not to straight-out ask why he can't read someone's mind.]

I suppose I should ask how many universes are being connected here, it being a bubble and all. And if it's true that there's no known way to return.

And I suppose I should introduce myself, how terribly rude of me. My name is Albus Dumbledore. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Doctor.

[Gellert can be quite tactile when the mood strikes him. If they were meeting in person, he would not refrain from touching Albus's new beard or determining how tall the other man had grown. But the contact would inevitably lead to conflicting emotions. It's better that they have some distance, perhaps, though he longs to Apparate to him.]

I haven't been here long. Several days at most.

[His expression hardens, then.]

Is that why you avoid me?

Yeah, you're stuck just like the rest of us. Deal with it like the rest of us do.

[Jack grins in reply,]

It is refreshing to see someone being more relaxed about the whole situation then most I'm not going to lie.

[And I bet - you think I'm an Occlumens. Which in your world's terms that's correct. Even if it's more really being telepathic.]

Well - given the math on every possibility that's possible but doesn't happen in one universe but happens in another - nearly infinite.

[Ten's face is hard at the no known way about returning back; because he's seen some of his friends go already. A loud whisper]

No. Not yet.

[And yet - finds himself grinning. Clever Albus but then expects nothing less]

Hello, sir! I'll try to explain as best as I can. I have to warn you, there is no way to sound completely sane when explaining it.

[Because that needs to be said. It really does sound like the workings of someone's overly active imagination until one actually looks around and realizes that it's all true.]

This place is a multiversal nexus. They're places that pull people from all different worlds, and sometimes different points of time within the same universe.
