Woke Up From a Nightmare

What the hell---!

[Judging from the constant static and the jumbled words, this live stream wasn't planned. There's no actual footage for awhile, just a bunch of annoying ass static and lots of swearing. There's the occasional sloshing of water ever few seconds followed by more cursing but the video remains black. That's until suddenly there's a pop of color in the form of a giant green eye. It's inhumanly green, almost jade with hints of turquoise here and there but the iris is pitch black.

It almost looks like snake eyes, very reptilian-like with some human characteristics.

This creepy eye lingers there for a moment until the owner of this phone pulls away. Silver hair. That's the first thing everyone notices about Loz after the eyes. He's not focused on the screen currently but glancing towards the side at something. Even in the dim lighting, his odd features stick out pretty hard.]

What is this shit?! [He glares down at the phone again.] The hell happened to the town?

[The big guy is clearly confused about something but what? He's angry as hell.]

Yo, Darma! We gotta talk! This is gettin' way outta hand.

[He's clearly sloshing through the waters of this sunken cave. The man's making his way towards the light ahead.]

I'm not doin' this crap anymore unless you get my brothers out!

[There's more Loz wants to say but he trails off once he glances down at the screen again.]

You hear me? Darma? [Incoming meltdown 3, 2, 1...] ANSWER ME!

You promised me, dammit! Get them out or else!

Out & About - Genessia City

[All hell is about to break loose in Genessia City today but first things first, food. Loz is hungry enough to eat a chocobo feathers and all. Living off of mere rations alone is rough for anyone. Loz managed to hold out long enough while on mission for the Natha but right now, he's starving. While he's certainly griping about this new change of scenery, Loz is too damn hungry to care.

He wanders down 13th Street and Oak searching for the nearest food spot on the block while taking in the sights and sounds. Unlike Olympia, this town lacks that old rustic feel. Here there's everything Loz is used to from the crowded sidewalks, busy streets and towering buildings. This town reminds him of Edge, the settlement near Midgar.

Loz didn't really have time to explore Edge but this new town certainly reeks like it.]

It stinks.

[The complaint is whispered loud enough to be heard.]

There's gotta be a some food around here...

[His stomach is bitching something fierce.]

Well I don't know who this Darma is, but I don't think they had any hand in you coming here.

[Lucky is at work at the planetarium, getting things set up for the next show when Loz started freaking out.]

And maybe your brothers'll show up. If whoever brought us here decides to bring them too.

Eh? [Loz peers into the screen when some nerdy looking guy appears. He doesn't look familiar to him at all which is the usual but still.] You don't? How?

Darma is the lady who sent us, right?

[Geez, good luck explaining to him what's happening here. Loz isn't quite getting it at all.]

You think so? Kadaj and Yazoo were still asleep in those pods last time I checked.

[Pods? He means the Stasis Pods on the spaceship. Darma claimed his brothers would eventually awaken but she never said when. Let's just say their well-being was her bargaining chip.]

...Why you actin' like you don't know nothing, huh?

[He leans in reeeeeal close until Lucky can see the white of his eyes as clear as day.]

You're hidin' something, aren't you? Spit it out.

[She's out walking her houndoom when she notices she's on the same path as the man, and while normally crossing paths wouldn't bother her too much, there's something different about this one.

She frowns at the irritation rolling off of him and tightens her hold on Ace's leash, hoping to pass by as casually as possible and avoid those eyes.

Unfortunately for her, the dog seems to pick up on her discomfort and begins to growl lowly as they draw closer to the stranger.]

[The houndoom gets a look from this angry fucker in the black leather. Loz growls back at the dog-like pokemon, making sure to show his fangs too.]

Ugly mutt. [He mutters as he stomps over looking every bit like hell, fire and brimstone.] Wanna go, asshole?!

I'll knock your head clean off--

[Yes, this jackass is yelling at a pokemon. A pokemon. Let's let that sink in for a moment.]

Control your dog, lady.

[He comments once he glances at the woman.]

That's rich coming from someone who thinks black leather's a summer look.

[Junko had been quite happily going about her business when she'd happened to catch that not-quite-whispered comment of his. She's not working today, so she's figured she may as well spend a little time away from Nova City - and where better than the place where the new arrivals are most likely to stumble across her path?

It's not the true, gut-wrenching despair she lives for. But it's entertaining, and until she can gather enough influence to pull off something worthy of one of the three Ultimate titles she claims, it keeps the edge off the craving she's never truly without.

For her part, she's dressed for the weather and to accentuate her figure, oversized shades masking the amusement in her eyes but not the quirk of her lips as she addresses what she knows she was supposed to ignore. But of course she wouldn't, not when she caught that earlier broadcast, not when she's intrigued to figure out if he's merely a passing interest or someone worth hooking a talon into.

That she does so by criticising his dress sense is just all part of the Junko Enoshima charm.]

[WAY TO GO, ACE. It's exactly what she didn't want.

She takes a few steps back, tugging the now viciously barking Pokemon back with her before she's forced to stand her ground. Dammit.]

Hey, he's on a leash. You're the one in his space.

Huh?

[He quickly glances at the weird looking blond before glancing down at this outfit. Nothing seems wrong here on his end. Loz actually doesn't sweat as often as average humans, something he realized thanks to a friend of his. That sleazy elf-guy with the weird tattoos. Loz forgotten his name but he still remembers what he looked like.

That short elf dude always did have wandering eyes.]

At least I match unlike you, bug eyes.

Yeah, yeah. Woof it up, buddy.

[Loz barks at the pokemon a few times just to piss off the doggie more. That ugly mutt really has an attitude but at least it's not a whimp. That's kind of respectable but at the same time, Loz doesn't care.

He grows bored of the dog quickly and sets his eyes on the woman.]

Tch, you can barely keep him under control. Kind of hard to believe that's your mutt.

[Loz takes a step back so the yippy dog can finally calm the heck down.]

'Bug eyes', really? That's the best you can do?

[She's not offended. She knows and owns her own style - and Loz may later notice it's a style that's growing in prominence amongst Genessia's advertising spaces, now she's returned to the industry she knows best.

For now, he'll just have to deal with the real thing, lucky him.]

And please, like matching black to black is anything to be proud of. Talk to me when you've mastered colour coordination, then we'll see if you've got what it takes to match up to the Ultimate Fashionista.

[Hey, she didn't give herself the title but it's not going to stop her from using it.]

[...she almost relaxes at how ridiculous the barking is, but only rolls her eyes, still keeping the leash pulled taut.

When he switches his full attention to her, however, she might look as though she's about ready to turn and run... until his comment.]

...Excuse me?

[Ah, archangel's Pride, rearing it's ugly sinful head.

...he's definitely not wrong, though.]

What? You exceptin'Loveless quotes, lady? Bug off!

[He hisses in annoyance. Loveless is some stupid play/poem epic from his world. The only reason he knows about it is because it was etched into his shared memories by some asshole in a red coat. His alleged predecessor had to deal with that clown day in and day out.

Loz has an irrational hatred for that book even now.]

Who the hell cares about crap like that?! [He yells looking a little bit off-put by this broad.] Don't you have better shit to do, lady?

I know the Natha hate slackers.

[Wait, who's those folks again? Loz still thinks he's on that other world.]

What are ya, deaf? [He mutters in a deadpan tone.] You can barely control him. Just look at how puny you are.

[Loz crosses his arms over his chest and frowns. This woman is a snore. A complete bore. There's nothing remotely special about this broad, at least so he thinks. He can't sense any of that archangel stuff.]

Short and mouthy but nothin' else.

Loveless? The hell is that supposed to be?

[She asks the question, but she'd be hard pushed to say she cares. More interesting is the temper, because that suggests someone not fully in control of his emotions and that has a certain amount of use for her.

True, he's also referencing a lot that means nothing to her but then this is a meeting of universes. That's kind of what happens around here.]

Well it's my day off and I don't have any real plans so not really. And who or whatever the Natha are, they don't sound like anyone with authority over me so the real question is how or why I would care what they think about how I spend my free time.

Some boring ass play. [ He answers with a shrug.] Hell if I remember what's it about. Everyone likes it and whatever.

Can't remember much about it.

[Loz stares at the girl with a little bit more scrutiny now. Those bright green eyes seem a little darker in hue now. He's studying her or at least trying to understand what he's looking at. The girl in question seems like your average human, nothing special and no traces of Mother anywhere on her.

Loz rolls his eyes and glances elsewhere. Just another stupid human.]

You don't know 'em? [He peeks at her again curiously.] Not even Darma? What about the space station? Remember anythin' about that?

[It's slowly sinking in that he's not in the same world anymore.]

Has there ever been a play you do remember much about?

[She's guessing no, though in itself it isn't an insult. People focus on different things; she's from a school that outright encouraged hyper-focus on one thing to the detriment of all else.

As he scrutinises her, she'll deign to remove her sunglasses - if he's that interested, she'll bite and let that mask slip. And when it does, it'll become clear that for all her casualness in tone and attitude, her eyes are sharp, studying him as much as he studies her. Especially when she comes to look more closely at his eyes and realises that whoever, whatever he is, he isn't human as she would know it.

Again, not so surprising here. But interesting, all the same.

At the rest she lets out a long sigh that sounds more put-upon than it really is. Honestly, she's not surprised by the observation she's about to make.]

Sooooo I take it someone skipped the whole hologram welcome? Wherever you were before you washed up here, you're not there now. So whatever it was you were right in the middle of, you've gotta start all over again...assuming it's even still possible.

[For her, that wasn't an issue. From what he's saying, she can guess that's not so true for him.]

[Loz opened his mouth to say something bitchy in regards to that first question but he quickly closes it. He actually never gone to a play, nevertheless actually read one. Even with those bizarre memories, Loz can't recall a time he ever been to the theater. The big brute stands there for a moment looking somewhat surprised now.

The blond got him good with that question.]

Shut up. [He answers with exasperation.] Who cares about stuff like that?

[He let's out an annoyed huff. Despite his size and assumed age, Loz acts very much like a grumpy teenager.]

The stupid hologram was annoying! [Loz protests in his defense.] Who the hell wants to sit through that crap all damn day? Besides, I'm hungry.

[Excuses, excuses...]

[Again... he's not wrong. Even now, the dog is growling again, teeth bared.

Really, she should walk away from it, brush off the words and just leave it be like the voice of reason in her head is pleading. She's torn... there's nothing in the world she loathes more than a man putting her in her place, deserved or not, but she knows she doesn't stand an actual chance should things take a turn past sharp words and frustrated looks.]

....do you have a brain in there, or is it all muscle, big guy? [She may be standing her ground, but she's tight as a bowstring.]

Hey, you brought it up.

[And she's more and more amused by this presumed adult acting more and more like...well, to say teenager would almost be generous, given that last protest. She's even pretty sure there are some kids in Towa City who would look mature next to him, even the ones who hadn't been raised as a project in educational excellence.

Throwing this guy to them might prove entertaining. Too bad Towa City's an entire dimension away and that she'd be too dead to enjoy it even if they were somehow ported back to her world.

She arches an eyebrow to his protests, replacing her sunglasses but her expression still clearly amused.]

All day? It's a few minutes, tops. And if you're that hungry, there's tons of places to buy food here and assuming you didn't lose it or throw it in the sea or something, you should have at least enough reds on hand to do that.

[She isn't mentioning the pendant yet but there's part of her that kind of hopes that ended up taking a swim, given how important they're supposed to be.]

What?

[Loz arches his brow just a little at her. Is she really about to start this? She can't be frickin' serious---

Might wanna rethink that question, tiny.

[If they're going to square up, then fine! He towers over here menacingly but he doesn't strike. No, his arms are still folded over his chest. While he wouldn't have any qualms squashing her like a bug back in the day, Loz actually learned some manners. JUST SOME. As one can see, he still needs a ton of work.]

Listen, lady. There's only one woman who can take me on and she didn't even win.

[Here's looking at you, Lockheart.]

[Those eyes and hair were rather unique weren't they? Rip actually had to pause when this video popped up on her network feed and take a second look.. He looked eerily similar to someone she used to know a very long time ago.

Though, she could never remember that particular person being this mouthy.]

Vhoever you're angry at probably isn't here. I hafn't heard of anyone called Darma before.

[Food was something that always drew Li's attention regardless if she had the bills for it or not. Then again, her typical kind of food wasn't exactly something one came by outside of the Everglade.

Except today. Today she wanted Barbecue and was trying to figure out a way to get some with her decidedly lack of funds. So, when someone mentioned wanting food, she sort of honed in on the individual and very soon Loz would find a smaller blonde woman walking beside him with a decidedly inhuman feel about her. As in, almost equine.]

New arrival huh? There's plenty of places for food around here if you got the money for it.

[ Oh god.

Time to bow out. She leans back from him, leveling golden eyes on his, then shakes her head and steps back to walk away before Ace is able to sink his teeth into the man's leg-]

You know, I'd normally take that as a compliment. [Tiny. Psshh.] As it stands, though, I'm not looking for a fight today, and I doubt you really want to stand here chatting all afternoon, [definitely doesn't sound like it, though something in his voice in making her rethink things. There's something...really off about this guy. Kid? ...hm.

The pokemon himself, on the other hand, looks ready to snap, despite the fact his lady is starting away. Just one step closer, buddy, and he's breaking this leash-]

[He rolls his eyes in annoyance as he steps past this bratty girl. While he's itching for a fight, Loz isn't about to smack her around. Not even worth the effort in his book considering. Although, there's something weird about this lady that he can't exactly put into words.

Maybe it's all just his imagination.]

Bleh, I'll talk to it later. [He grumbles in regards to the hologram by the pier.] I got nothing but time, lady. Food first, then annoying shit later.

[If he eats at least something good, then maybe he'll be able to swallow the bad news that's to come. That's his logic in all this rather than sobbing. Life is rough, it's been rough all the way till now.

Loz doesn't have the luxury of breaking down even he wants to.]

I didn't toss nothin'. [He grumbles as he peeks at her again.] I'm not stupid, you know?

I kept the damn money.

Damn right I'm angry.

[He mutters under his breath once the video pops up with this weird looking woman with sleek black hair. It doesn't take him long to figure she probably isn't human (fangs much?) but he doesn't seem perturbed.

If anything, Loz looks unimpressed and slightly bothered.]

Been goin' through hell and back for Darma and now everybody forgot she even friggin' exists?

Um, yeah? [He turns and glances over at the woman looking mighty confused.] Are you talkin' to me?

[Sheesh. Loz just arrived here less than fifteen minutes ago and he already had a run in with three different women. Hopefully, this one won't be as mouthy as the other two. Loz is kind of getting sick of that.]

I have some cash but where should I go?

[Just point him to the food, creepy face. There's something off about this blond but she doesn't seem dangerous to him. Just weird if anything. There's nothing wrong about being weird as long as she's not trying to attack him.]

Got any recommendations?
