[The video turns on, and there is a loud screeching noise emitting from the device. The source of the horrible screech, is a big ball of purple and pink fluff shoved inside a small pet carrier case. If anyone were to guess it was the Cheshire Cat, they were correct.

Poor Cheshire is squashed right up against all four walls, tufts of fur sticking out through every gap. The carrier, which was initially still, starts shaking violently as he struggles within the confines. This may be the first time Ches has ever regretted his eating habits...

Meanwhile, Aizawa, who happened to hold the case, stared dead at the video. His eyes were red and dried, it looked like the poor guy either didn’t get sleep or had the worst staring contest and won? He looked drained, tired and fought a gruesome battle with all those scratches on his arms and forehead, someone shoot this guy a pillow! ]

Hey. Doctor. We need to talk.

[A low hiss is the last thing viewers will hear before the feed cuts. He did messaged directly to his device, right?]

He's just a cat. He's not that clever. [She's baiting Ches. Either he'll confess, or Aizawa is actually overreacting.]

[Ten notes the that Cheshire Cat was just put into a cat carrier - however; unless that cat carrier is dematerialized proof - he refuses to say 'magic proof' or 'cartoon' then they don't have Cheshire Cat at all.

However, there is a problem with someone's eyes that shouldn't be dry and appears to be confused and shocked because he doesn't understand what went wrong because someone didn't see Cheshire Cat mix in Cheshire own cat hair into the solution that was being left out to mold into the eye contacts. Apparently, Cheshire is magic. With a calm and serious voice]

[There's a twitch of amusement in Lancer's tone that suggests he knows otherwise, if only because he's...experienced Cheshire before even if he doesn't know the full details.]

[Ches is just slumped on the floor of the cage, eyes darting between Rose and Aizawa as they converse. Upon making eye contact with his captor, the cat hisses in defiance and turns his head away.

So there may be a slight chance he had something to do with the red eyes, but no confessions while he's squished into a kitten cage.]

[Whatever Aizawa had or hadn't been about to say is abruptly cut off when Ches catches sight of a familiar face peering into the video.]

Doctor!!! I've been catnapped!

[The trick is to get the first word in, right?]

But I haven't done anything bounty worthy!

[Trolling is not a crime! And technically Aizawa wasn't charged for the contacts so he can't complain about faulty goods.]

Is that so? Your captor appears to believe otherwise.

[Not that he knows Aizawa especially well but he knows that he is at least more heroic than Lancer himself or anyone else who had been on their shared bounty. Enough for Lancer to believe he would not do this for no reason.]

If it isn't advertised in the paper it's just catnapping.

While Ches does enjoy reading the bounties section to check for chuckle-worthy crimes, he has never considered signing up to hunt one himself. Thus, the laws and logistics of bounty hunting are very much a mystery to him.]

Or the bounties that are advertised are the ones not already assigned to the seasoned hunters. I'd find it hard to believe people would find enough work to count themselves as full-time hunters through a single source alone.

[Not impossible, and he's still too far down the chain of command to know for certain otherwise. But it's a reasonable assumption to make, as far as he's concerned.]

There's no reason to send a seasoned hunter after a cat! I'm only dangerous to fish, mice, and birds.

[...and also apparently to hero hands, which are really quite badly scratched up. But otherwise he's totally harmless! Just look at those wide eyes on that fluffy head.]

Ah. Then perhaps it is not so much bounty as pest control?

[Does he mean that? Even he's not really sure but hey, even an old king has to find ways to amuse himself now and again.]

But cats are pest control! Shopkeepers keep us to stop mice eating everything!

[Also when you have a Cheshire Cat, the Cheshire Cat tends to eat everything...but let's omit that detail.]

What if sleepy dry eyes is collaborating with the mice?!

Not if they become pests themselves.

[And Cheshire strikes him as the sort that could easily fall into that category.]

Endearing as your desperate attempt at a conspiracy may be, I find it highly unlikely.

The Cheshire Cat pulls a face and flops down onto his stomach, tail swishing back and forth as much as it can within the confines of the cage.]

Isn't that cage a bit too small for a cat that size?
