2nd Vector [action; Everglade!]
A.
[Oh dear, someone snuck out of Wonderland and ventured around the Everglades. It was a small blond child, with visible horns, and she appeared to be missing an arm. Mariko wanted to venture out for so long and well, she finally decided to take the first leap, literally. From the Wonderland building, she lowered herself gently. Her feet were stable, she was able to walk properly, while learning other things.
She ventured through a couple places. First were the taverns, how she bypassed the bouncer, who knows, probably shoved them to the side, but at least he didn't die. They looked interesting and that's where the adults were. The fear didn't struck her when her eyes laid on the vampires, they looked like people with weird ears to her, and the werewolves well, dogs to her, big dogs.]
Hehe, that's a big doggie!
[She giggled to herself, then continued on.]
Hey mister, what's that?
[She pointed to the kegs and glasses what they held.]
B.
[Next part of her adventure has taken her to the Mystic's Ally. It was filled with lights and people, but no humans she could sense in her demeanor side. Mariko walked up to booths all bright eyes and gasped at the beautiful trinkets. There were crystal balls, crystal necklaces, those weird cards, and more. Oh look, there was a Ouija board, maybe she could bring that back.]
Hey missy, what's this? And this?
[Mariko pointed to every object, even the most obvious ones. She was curious okay!]

Action
Those are bottles of alcohol. It's a poison people like to pickle themselves in. Adults are weird, right?
Action
[There's also another part of her that keeps telling her that she's being unfair with Mariko. Just because what happened with Marion haunts her and she hates the child it doesn't mean that all non-human children with a daddy complex will be the same.]
[But she will be not surprised if Mariko ends doing something bad.]
[For now, though she just focus on instructing the people at the bar to not worry.]
It's okay, continue with your day, misters. No need to worry.
[That's her job, and she lets Carver be the one to talk with Mariko first.]
Re: Action
Mr. Detective!
[She laughed when he explained her questions.]
Hehe! They are weird! But you're not like them right?
[Meanwhile she held her urge to kill him. He was so nice, and it's not like he's her father. Then she heard the other woman's voice, and her smile fell bemused. It was that bitch who clung around him. Oh how much she wanted to pop her head off that shoulder. She looked back up to Detective again with a small smile.]
Did something happen?
[So innocent.]
Action
People were worried about you. Are you all right? What are you doing here?
Re: Action
[Seems so logic. Don't ask her for help. And lol, people worried? She doesn't get that.]
I'm fine. There were so many people here, I wanted to see why. Is that hag following you again?
[She pointed at his partner.]
Re: Action
[Eyes narrow.] She's my partner, don't refer to her like that. And she keeps me safe.
Where's your guardian?
Action
[Not that she thinks Mariko could be kidnapped but it's never bad to make sure of it.]
Re: Action
[Why does it feel like something bad? It was something to think about later, maybe she could help him with it or something. ...Yeah.]
Hrm. [She makes a face, puffing her cheek. Did she get in trouble because of her?]
Then what should I call her?
Oh, they left for work. I got bored and left too.
Re: Action
I see. It must be lonely waiting for someone to come home all day. Maybe you can join school in the fall?
[Brilliant Carver. Even if Everglade has a school for kids, all it's going to take is one bad day for an absolute massacre. BRILLIANT.] Would you like to go somewhere more fun? A park or playground?
[Holds up a finger, before standing up, and offering her a hand.] You have to promise not to hurt anyone though, yeah? Don't worry, I won't let them bother you.
I'll send her a message so she knows you're safe and where to come get you when she can, okay?
Action
[Chrysalis doesn't wish that to her worst enemy, but she's not going to voice a complain now. Let Mariko's guardian decide on that if they want.]
[And let Carver keep digging his own grave if he wants to so much. She's just going to finish questioning and writing down the data and join them after.]
Re: Action
[Or maybe her guardians should bring more bodies for her to play with, but she wont say it. Those poor kids...]
Officer.
[Another pout. She looks at the offered hand. Without hesitation, she beams a smile happily at the invite.]
Okay!
[She takes his hand happily. Big sis and bro shouldn't mind.]
I don't know, what's a playground?
Re: Action
[Also he is so unused to being "good cop" ever. EVER. Or the one dealing with children who are usually scared off by HIS FACE, that it takes him a moment to remember how to do this and what instincts to follow, and jerks his head out the door to Chrysalis, giving a small wave to the bartenders.] Want to say goodbye to the friends you made here? Just wave.
We'll go to a playground first. Then pizza arcade. You'll like it, I think. [HE WILL TEACH HER SWINGS :V And then she can ask Lydia for one.]
[And a small growly hum. How does he explain a playground?]
Schools teach you things. But maybe you'd be better off with learning from books and toys? [... :| He doesn't really trust her with a tutor and has a feeling that would remind her more of the horror environment she came from rather than do any kind of healing.] Or maybe I can see if a friend can help.
Playgrounds are like... special areas created for playing in. Humans evolved from monkeys... have you ever seen a picture of a monkey? Evolved means... over the course of millions of years started to adapt and splinter off species-wise. Playgrounds harken back to monkey instincts.
[One day he will take Mariko to the zoo too. When Chrysalis and her are less testy with each other maybe.]
Action
I'll like tell the station that we're going to like be out of commission for awhile.
[Because, in case Carver has forgot they are in the middle of work and that doesn't include being babysitters and entertain the kid. But knowing that Mariko is a potential danger to others and may be in danger herself if left alone and she comes across someone who dislikes non-humans, Chrysalis supposes that they can take the time to do that.]
[Hell will freeze before she leaves Carver alone with Mariko, though. Again both for the danger the kid poses and the danger the kid may be in.]
[Also frowning at the way Carver explained a school.]
Schools are also like places where listed children are like forced to go to and where they are like obligated to sit in rooms and listen to what adults try to make them memorize. It's like not fun at all and it like eats all the time you have to like play around and have fun yourself.
[Don't go to school, Mariko, Chrysalis really doesn't recommend it.]
[And she's not sure if telling the child that humans evolved from monkeys is a good idea. As if the child needs more reasons to think lowly of humans. You're basically telling her that the people that traumatized her were just advanced monkeys.]
Re: Action
[Even though she probably pushed a lot of them. It was too bad, she wanted to let the werewolves. She waved at a lot of them the most, with a cute smile.
She listened how Detective explained school, then to Officer. There was another pout. She didn't want to stay confined somewhere, period, which that's how Officer explained it.]
I don't like school. [Nope, nope, and NOPE.]
But, I want to read. I can learn how to read right?
[She wanted that at least. She learned enough while confined back in her world. All were verbal so reading was out of the question.]
So.. I'm like a monkey?
[Hmm, she seen pictures of them and they are quite cute. She raised one arm up, her only arm, trying to reach up high as she could.]
So I can be a monkey on a playground!!
[There goes her imagination.]
I wanna try that first! Yeah!
Re: Action
[Let's not say scientist. Or Doctor.] Good guy. He's the one who made an extra heart for me to replace the bad one. And he made me meds so they don't get out of control for now. I trust him.
Yeah. We can go on the Monkey bars first, and then I'll show you the swings, like playing on tree vines, right?
[HE JUST NEEDS TO REMEMBER NOT TO GET CARRIED AWAY HIMSELF. NO. FUCKING. RUNNING. CARVER.]
Action
[She would offer herself to teach her if not because she doubts Mariko would accept to begin with. She's not sure if asking the Doctor is a good idea either, simply because she may react badly to his name if she meets him.]
[And don't go saying that there's an extra heart to replace yours, that only invites to have yours ripped out.]
B
Do you think I'm stupid, mister? These are worth five times what you're selling those crystals for.
[His little arms are crossed in front of him. Then he glances over and notices Mariko.]
Hi Mariko. I didn't know you were into magic.
Re: B
[She comments on what Phibrizzo was selling to the vendors. Then she looks towards him. She smiles innocently.]
Nope~.
[She got an idea what magic is, even though her's is almost similar. Almost.]
I just like stuff they have here. Is that what they're used for?
Re: Action
So he's the one who fixed your heart? And he can teach me that?
[She glanced at her missing arm.]
What about arms? Can he fix it too?
[More beaming smile! Cause she doesn't know what she would find but whatever, money bars!]
Yeah! Show me already!
Re: Action
And my heart's not all better yet, just most of the way there.
[Take her to a park, yes even Everglade has them. And carefully warns her before picking her up.] You can hold onto the bars. Like a monkey. And if you want to move to the next one, I'll take you there, okay? But don't try without someone else to hold you yet, all right? I don't want you to get hurt.
no subject
[He puts up a finger to indicate that she needs to give him a moment.]
Anyway, mister, last chance to offer me something worthwhile for these before I leave and go to your competition. I bet they'd be way more generous.
[The manager grumbles, offers a high enough price for Phibrizzo to accept, and money is handed over in exchange for the crystals.]
Want to see something really pretty, Mariko? I'll show you where I'm living now.
Action
[Don't mind Chrysalis, she's just going to lean back against a slide and watch them for now unless needed or she has something to say. She will take a moment to actually do the call she said she would do and inform that the situation is, for now, under control.]
B
Even though she had a place to go, she always found herself staring at some of the stalls for no reason other than being curious when she came across the young child. She soon found herself wondering where the girl's parents were.]
Did you lose your parents?
A
[At least unless, you're being chased then - run! At least someone is all smiles and looks a lot like Emmett Carver; minus the voice being more British and the blue pinstripe with red shoes and messier brown hair and same big excitable brown puppy eyes that Mariko may notice aren't completely human]
Hallo. You most be Mariko. Detective Carver mentioned me. I'm the friend.
Action - A
If this were the place and they'd be in danger, he'd be ready. Hand on the hilt of his Raijinto. But, stopping by a tavern wasn't going to hurt until seeing...a little girl? Ryoma glanced down at her at the question]
Mm..I'll tell you, but aren't you a little young to be in here?
Re: Action - A
I don't know, am I?
[The important question. Will this man try to reach out to her for some reason?]
Re: A
I am. You two look the same.
[Yet, she sounded a little disappointed at this.]
Re: B
I didn't loose them...
[It felt like a calm before the wake and then--- Mariko shot out one invisible hand to push the woman away by the shoulder, enough to probably make her stumble backwards.]
I died.
[Crap, she can't forget the promise. No killing humans outside.]
no subject
[Before she could continue, she watched him talk to the merchant again. Whatever was happening, the merchant wasn't listening and was being rude. Some reason, Mariko didn't like that, but regardless, she remained idle.]
Okay.
[She responded to Phib, ready to follow him. And whenever they turned away from the merchant's stand, Mariko may had swapped a vector under the desk and pulled the merchant by the leg to let him fall back. Oops.]
Re: A
Yes.
Is that alright?
no subject
[Yeah, he remembers those invisible forces holding that lady up before. He's got a pretty good idea that this wasn't just an accident, and he's drinking in the annoyance from the merchant now.
He offers a hand to Mariko.]
C'mon. We'll go the fast way.
Re: B
I see... So that means you were given a second chance here then... Does that mean you have a guardian who took you in here?
