That was not how it should have turned out. I wonder just where it went wrong.

[Something bumped against Nikola's phone as it starts recording. The normally well put together man was surprisingly dressed in a nice T-shirt. Or, it would have been a nice t-shirt if it didn't suddenly have blueberry pie splattered across it. And flower... and perhaps a bit of crust clinging to his hair without him realizing it.

As for Nikola, he was currently attempting to clean himself up with paper towel with pie filling and crust splattered across his arms and a bit on his face. Surprisingly despite being splattered with the obviously steaming filling, he wasn't burned in the slightest. The remains of the pie were on the counter near him and somehow.. it seemed to have exploded outward and was still rather hot. Honestly, Nikola was NOT sure how that happened. Usually he was rather good at making pies... and baking in general.

It takes a few moments for him to clean the splatter off his face and then he notices that his phone was on. The very same phone he had been looking up recipes on earlier. He sighed softly and reached over to turn it off. Did this really need to be broadcast for all to see? Really?]

[Look Nikola, there's a blond who can't stop laughing at the sight of you, though she is trying not to laugh too hard about it.]

I thought you said you knew how to bake. Doesn't look like you were very successful.

[Damn it. Jenny was one of the last people he wanted to see this. ]

Usually, I can. As far as I can tell, I followed the recipe as close as I could.

[She raised an amused brow at him.]

Really? It looks an awful lot like it exploded though.

[He sighed and tried not to look as annoyed as he really was about the entire thing.]

It did. I'm still not sure how.

[Another chuckle.]

A wrong ingredient somewhere or the wrong proportions maybe?

Quite possibly.

The measurements between this world and my own may not be quite compatible to what I know.

It's possible. Didn't you try to calculate the difference in measurements before attempting this?

...To the best of my abilities, yes.

[He's really trying not to look sheepish at that. ]

And you did take into account that some ingredients here are different from those of other worlds, yeah?

I attempted to, yes. However, your...'flour' might be made of something different than ours or something along those lines.

[He really didn't have any idea. Pies were not supposed to be explosive.]

Perhaps. It's certainly a possibility, but are you sure you bought flour and not baking soda or something?

I'm rather positive and even if I had, it hardly explains the exploding filling.

[Another chuckle.]

I guess not. Need help cleaning up?

I suppose I could use the company since you seem to be offering.

[Of course, the moment he said that, a blueberry dripped onto his head from the ceiling. He let out a soft frustrated sigh and looked up to where there was even some splattered on the ceiling.]

I have a feeling I'm going to need the help.

Yeah, I'd certainly say so. I'll be done work in a few minutes and then I'll head over. Might as well get started cleaning yourself off in the meantime.

[She chuckled again, still amused by what had happened.]

..Please don't rush.

[He at least picked the goopey blueberry out of his long hair and tossed it into the sink.]

I am going to attempt a shower to get myself presentable again...I'll leave the door unlocked so if I cannot answer the door, just let yourself in.

[She hangs up after that, heading over as agreed as soon as her shift ends.]

[He smiles as she hangs up and the sighs. Another glance towards the blueberry splattered ceiling and he was grumbling as he took off for the bedroom and then hopefully the shower to get things out of his hair.

Chances are, he might still be in the shower when she arrives.]

[And he most certainly would be as Jenny arrived and entered like he'd said. When she went to check out the kitchen she gave a low whistle. Wow had he done a number on it with that explosion. This was going to take quite a bit of clean up, but they could handle it if they used some old fashioned team work.]

Too much baking soda? I've done that.

You didn't upset Cheshire recently did you?

Quite possibly. I think my measurements were rather off with this being the result.

[Case in point, the blueberry goop that just dripped from the ceiling onto his shoulder.]

...Are you referring to that floating cat that's always hanging around? No, I haven't. I tend to ignore him, why? Did something happen?

[He really did do quite the number. The platter was all over the inside of the oven, the ceiling, cabinets.. even on the floor and fridge. There had been a reason he had been covered in the mess.

It would be a bit before Nikola was done in the bathroom and soon, he was walking out of his bedroom with a pair of sweat pants low on his hips and shirtless, toweling off his hair. He paused when he noticed Jenny was there and for a moment, felt slightly embarrassed she had to see his kitchen in such disarray. ]

Thank you for your help... I really hope this mess can be cleaned up quickly and that I'm not finding stains for the next few months.

That might be enough. But he probably wouldn't interfere with baked goods. I think. He'd just wait until it was finished and steal it.

...I would rather he stole the pie than explode it if that just happens to be the case.

[She already had gotten started on the clean up when he finally made his appearance, and she was already making a decent dent in it as well.

Though when she saw him, she did subtly looking him up and down a little. Okay, so he was a bit good looking she supposed, and seemed like a nice enough guy, but she was still completely done with dating. She'd learned her lesson in Adstring.

Still, she grinned at him.]

No worries. A little bit of work on our parts and it'll be cleaned up in no time. We'll get the stains out too. Promise.
