Well... if this person is your friend, like you say? I can practically guarantee that she wouldn't want you erasing your feelings for her just because they might be 'inconvenient'. That's not something a friend would ever want someone to do, and doing it would probably end up hurting her more than some awkward feelings ever could.

As for the rest of it couldn't you just... stop zapping away anything new, and live on from here? I mean, I get wanting to leave 300 years of bad stuff behind you, but what's stopping you from just essentially starting over and building a new life? One with a bit more balance between good and bad and a lot less brainwashing?
