[The last time Soma went to a carnival was, ironically, not long after he first arrived in Genessia. That one had featured costumes and masks, and a sort of curse in the background that completely negated inhibitions.
It had netted him one solid friend, and not a whole lot else. So it's with that quasi-anniversary in mind that he invites Anya to come along with him to this carnival, to see its sights and partake in the sort of junk food that one only gets to really enjoy once in a very long while. Mostly because it'd probably kill most people to have on the regular.
The first stop is at a funnel cake vendor, where Soma foots the bill for two powdered sugar topped piles of fried dough.
His being allowed to bring Anastasia along to this thing was conditional, in that he had to act as her escort and stay nearby at all times, even though he was quite sure she could handle the average armed mugger about as easily as most people swat a fly. And he had to leave his weapons at home.
All of them.
So he's not wearing his usual coat today, though in fairness, it's rather too hot for that anyway. Instead, he's opted for a traditional outfit from his adopted home country of Japan - a rather stylish kimono.]
