[Which was the truth, but he did it on purpose rather than it being an accident. he still didn't care to get rid and he was certain even if he tried, it probably would come back within a day or two.]

For all I know, even if you want to help. Might cause some problems [he was aware that might not be the case. But he hoped so.]
