Hello. I'm Hajime. I'm curious about a few things I've noticed.

Where were you, and what were you doing before wakiy up in that pod? It seems that many were in the middle of something important.

I was just in a banya in Karafuto.

Does anyone remember any rumors about me?

[ He works as a bouncer, so he hears a lot of rumors.]

Would the people spreading rumors even see them being addressed on this network?

Greetings. I'm Takumi of Hoshido. Before waking up here, I was leading my troops at the Great Wall of Suzanoh in defense of my homeland against an imvading army.

As for rumors, I haven't heard any. I don't pay attention to them anyway.

Eh, define 'important.' I was goin' over security for the Night Dragon's annual gala. Pretty standard shit.

...I had just gotten back from Isa, though--tundra, ice dragon country. Killed a warlord loyal to the bullshit emperor on the throne. That was fun.

What does it matter where we were prior to being whisked away to this pathetic world?

[He squints. Tsukihito has been on the warpath since he arrived here. He's one of the few who've ventured to Genessia before.]

I was in the middle of reclaiming my former glory before being awoken here again. I will not forgive these spirits for their transgressions against me.

You had people spreadin' rumours about you now?

I wasn't exactly in the 'middle' of anything important, but being here is definitely not where I expected to be. Certainly not waking up, when I'd been fully conscious too.

I've never heard any rumors about you, but I don't think any of the people who spread 'em would come forward.

Fighting to protect your homeland is certainly of great importance.

The rumors are mostly baseless and forgettable. It's best to ignore them.

I don't really want to think about it. It was a nightmare.

If you consider it important, then it qualifies.

I've noticed a few people anxious to get back due to something pressing or time sensitive.

[ He's adapting to the idea of conversing with dragons, deities, cyborgs and other beings he never expected to exist.]

I could see that shaking things up.

It could relate to why these spirits brought us over. We come from quite a variety of worlds and times.

There were rumors spread about me a while back. I figured people forgot about them as soon as they started talking about other folks.

That's the first time I heard of someone sleeping before waking up in the Bay.

I had rumors spread about me almost 2 months ago. I'm trying confirm how that they're forgotten.

It is certainly unexpected, even if you're used to meeting folk from other worlds.

I suspect the people starting those rumors are not pendant bearers, so they wouldn't see my message.

People forget about rumors soon after starting them.

How are you adapting to Genessia?

Well, I'm new, and I haven't heard nothin', mate. 'Course, I haven't properly inserted meself into the rumour mill, but if y'need things said about ya, I can make sure that happens.

Idle Gossip. People engage in it when there's nothing better to do, and often when there is to--as a way to pass the time. And amuse themselves. The trouble comes when the rumors are harmful, or believed when they shouldn't be, and so on.

You seem pretty level-headed about all of this though.

If I can ask a stupid question...what is a banya? I'm not familiar with that term.

I'm trying to get used to the idea. This seems like a dream.

[Which may be better than leaving a nightmare.]

I've been here for roughly three months.
Waking up in another world is rather unbelievable.
I don't have the imagination to dream up something like this.

I prefer not to have things said about me.
The rumor mill seems to be random with their targets.

Yes.
They can create obstacles until rumor mongers pick a new target. The ones about me were easy to ignore.

A banya is a type of public sauna or steam bath. Have you heard of Russia? It's a country on Earth, in the north.

[ Putting it mildly. He doesn't want to get people to relive past trauma.]

Are you doing better now?

Not in the Earth I'm from, I guess. I'm used to ignoring the gossip.

[Sort of--he tries to ignore it most of the time. Here it's mostly been inconsequential, and back in his own world and time it was about..him and Mai. But there had been so little TO gossip about during the year from hell. Much as it had been uncomfortable, he'd done his best to ignore it then too so the other survivors could enjoy it.]

Part of me wants to try and take a poll of different Earths and find out how many similarities there are. Then I realize how humongous a task that'd be.

I work in a bar, so I tend to overhear a lot of it.

People coming from different times and cultures would add to the difficulties.
I wouldn't know if people from the future we're from the same Earth or an alternate one.

[Hana smiled, that was really considerate! Although she was a bit concerned for this person's scars]

But yes! I'm doing so much better. I got a house, I have two jobs, meeting more and more new people and beings, this is such a huge change from my world.. [the dragon's voice trailed a bit, going back to the other]

[ He has plenty, both physical and mental. He also acted as the babysitter for other soldiers.]

That is much better. It sounds like you're doing well at adapting. What your jobs? Are you getting enough rest?

I'm doing well enough. It took me a while to adjust to the technology and culture shock. I'm from an earlier timeline than most people here.

I work as a bouncer and live in an apartment.

[..Okay Hana imagined what a bouncer was and..being stuffed animal was a job? That'd be a great job for her! She loves hugs and being squishy!]

I am a Book Hunter and a Herb Gatherer and sometimes a Beast hunter-but I like Gathering Books and Herbs better. It's a lot more fun. But I am resting..a lot actually. My home is filled with so much comforts.

...An earlier timeline..but you look like an evolved human! [pauses and chuckles] Perhaps I am earlier in the timeline than you. But you're right the technology was shocking-literally and figuratively.

Are you getting enough rest?

It already adds to the difficulties, but thankfully it's considered normal here. Or close enough to normal...

[But yes, his brain is already trying to figure out how to start tracking data for that kind of question. How many Earths, similar time periods, differences--it's going to give him a headache.]

You might be if humans weren't evolved. I'm only about a century behind, so humans mostly look the same. They're just a bit taller now.

It was difficult at first, but I'm adapting. I still sometimes come across some unfamiliar item.
