[A: video to bounty hunters]

[Tulip is seen on camera with listings in hand. She comes with a simple question.]

A friend from home and I are looking into joining forces as bounty hunters, me as primary and him as backup muscle. We know how the other works since well in our world bar fights are our idea of fun, our missing friend being the 3rd of the group.

So twofold: can two person teams take bounties and which city has good pickings for bounties? Because we're looking at apartments as we speak.

[After a quick outing for smokes/beers and to check into an apartment Tulip's back at the commons in her and Cassidy's shared space. Having him around has done a number in the best sense since she can't get lost in her head and well she's better off with her friends. But he can see right through the mask she wears in public, the events in New Orleans and being shot by the Grail have left its mark in more ways than one. And without Jesse being able to use Genesis to make her sleep she's not sleeping well if at all. But once she knocks to let Cass know she's back the mask is back.]

Only me Cass! I bear booze, smokes, a pizza and apartment leads. [As she drops her bag and jacket onto a nearby chair. She sets the pizza within reach since she knows her friend that well.]

Which town's good for bounties depends on your preference. Everglade and Fayren tend toward the weird side, while Nova goes high-tech. Attleton and Genessia proper have more normalish stuff, but Attleton is basically serial killer central. And yes, more than one person can take a bounty, but I think you have to split the reward. However, you'd both get the base level pay for registering, so there's that?

Everything is open since we're in early talks about where to set up base. But let's just say weird is basically normal for us. [This leaving out a lot but long story short?]

Alright. Everglade you're going to get your usual monster stereotypes - ghosts, ghouls, zombies, vampires, werewolves, that sort of thing. It's basically a horror movie turned into a city.

Fayren on the other hand is more what would've been called where I came from a fantasy city. Swords and sorcery, plus most mythological creatures - or what might be considered such in a human world, since there are people here from worlds where humans don't exist.

As for locations, I'd suggest checking which cities require bounty licenses. In Everglade, we have more strange cases with supernatural elements. If you're not used to that sort of thing, Attleton might be a better bet.

The advice I was given is that it's a good way to bring in extra money. I'm not sure how regular it would be in terms of work, as I've only done a bounty found in the paper before. I do know in Nova City you have to register and have a license. It's one of the things I looked into when I first arrived.

Without going into detail weird is pretty normal for us.

I snagged a paper bounty by sheer accident. But I'm looking into so called "normal" jobs too since bounty pickings can be slim from what I'm hearing.

Given what we've been through pre being dropped into here Everglade sounds about right.

Great! Then I think you would get alone well in Everglade. Or even Fayren. You need an open mind and flexible mind to work there.

Alternatively, have you got any interest in law enforcement or being a bodyguard?

Mind the ghouls, then. There's a bunch of them running wild right now. There are two types in Everglade - the ones who can think, and the ones who can't. These are the unthinking, one bite will turn a human kind. Open season on them, but be sure of what you're shooting at first.

I run a shop over in Everglade called the Cloak and Dagger. Running a special on silver-laced holy water and those backpack pressure washers. Drop in and stock up if you plan to go hunting.

[ Cassidy had been spending his time doing some exploring, but mostly sleeping his days away like the lazy bum he is. Nights were more his style anyway. It is somewhat concerning to him that Tulip's still been having issues actually sleeping, but he'd seen how defensive she can get when given advice. She's a big girl, or so Jesse kept insisting. She could take care of herself, right?

The little knock starts Cassidy awake. Somewhat startled and confused, he looks around, but smiles when he realises it's only Tulip. ]

Lovely little angel, bringin' me pizza. Woman after me own heart.

[ He grabs a slice and settles into a seated position. ]

[Tulip passed Cassidy the growing list of leads.]

Got a couple of promising leads for both apartment and possible base of operations. From what I'm hearing we would get a good bit of work in Everglade but Nova City has more paperwork attached. But since we're going in as equals you get say too. [Since they are doing this as a team after all, Tulip's notes are just as detailed. She passed over the second list of apartments.] Pretty much the same on places, anything is a step up from here.

[But the signs are there as she snags a pizza slice, her hand trembles for a split second.]

Lot of bars are looking too, figured I could sling drinks and well you would make a pretty good bouncer I think.

[ He takes the list and looks over it, munching happily on his pizza. ]

What's the difference between them? Hearin' people sayin' that Everglade is nice, but I don't know if I'm gonna be wantin' t'get stuck around a place that hasn't got any fun in it. And 'course, girl like you will probably be wantin' t'let her hair down now and then too, eh?

[ He smiles. ]

So you are actually considerin' legitimate work?

Everglade just feels like us, especially with all the weird. Plus I'm looking into taking bounties in other cities, we just need a base.

[Tulip has to smile.]

Figured if we gotta go semi legit it can at least be fun? Chance of bar fights especially. [Since lets be honest, bar fights are basically a sport to the trio.]

Base of operations... Sounds like a spy movie. I like it. We can have our own special code or somethin. Or just walk around without havin' any pants on. Miss that, I do.

I might be able t'pull off a bouncer thing... but I'm not sure I'm the best man for it, you know? I'm stronger than I look, but you've seen the weirdos who come through.

[ Cassidy shrugged and looked over the list again. ]

What's it pay?

References only we would get, I like how that sounds. [Tulip giggled at the spy movie idea.] And well it'll be like the road, only saner.

I have and I'm digging up options kind to both of us, especially since I'm Miss Shoot First. [Since it was basically true.] Plus we still have a couple of weeks, plenty of time to figure things out. And pay looks pretty good, enough to keep us stable.

"Couple o'weeks"? Bloody hell, they ask you to move fast here. For Chrissakes, they rip y'out of your home and tell you to get a bloody job and a house and all that shite? What is this, a universe where God is just a mother bird droppin' her babies outta nests? For fuck's sake.

[ He huffed a little and spent a moment munching on his pizza ]

"No kidding." Tulip had to agree as she took another drink of her beer. "And not yet but still looking at options, turns out there's an Annville clone of sorts here." passing Cassidy a paper of listings for Attnetion.

[ Cassidy took the paper and looked it over. It certainly looks interesting enough, but as much as Tulip seemed to like Annville, Cassidy found it... stifling. He grimaced. ]

Y'sure y'want t'be spendin' all your time in a place like that? Where it's hot, dry, and full o' scorpions? Don't think I didn't notice them little blighters, now. And the tarantulas? Half the size of a bloody cat but I can't do anythin' with 'em. What use are they?

"You got any ideas Cass? Because we're in this together." Tulip passed Cassidy her sheets full of notes. "And honestly the only reason besides a link to the good parts of the past I was looking there is the serial killer problem aka prime work for us bounty wise. Plus you gotta admit, a place like that needs your brand of chaos." her way of saying prime pickings.
