Happy Birthday!!! ((Backdated Thread-Closed w/Uai))

 [Ever since Hana learned about Birthdays and Hatchdays, she was thrilled to remember that Uai's birthday was today!

 

And planning for it, she was going to surprise him. Something that will make him really happy! But it was a surprise. So, on top of the highest peak in Genessia, she finally texted to him:]

Hey Uai! Meet me on the top of the tallest mountain. I remembered you saying you can teleport, yes? Well teleport here, I've got a huge surprise! 

No questions asked!!!

...If that's okay.

......No! This is for you. It's a surprise!~ So please, it doesn't have to take long. ~ 


 

[Aaand sent. Hana waited in her Dragon form, laying down and staring up at the night stars, holding a star/constellation book in her paw, and a basket full of wonderous bread and pastries.]

[... That was a weird text to receive. Like the monster he is, Uai's first response is to be impressed that Hana has adapted so well to texting. Seriously, she's figuring things out so fast. He's such a proud father... thing.

He decides to put his books away and follow her strange orders, even if he's forgotten it's his birthday. Teleportation is indeed in his talent basket, so he uses it to meet her on top of the mountain. At least, it's the mountain he recalls her once claiming was tallest.]

... auh? What's all this about?

[..Okay but that text took her a long time to make, so when Uai appeared, Hana's whole body perked up from the 'auh' and gazed over at her friend]

Uai!

[Hana patted the ground with her paw] Sit with me, please? I got something to show you~ You're going to be so happy..~~

[Uai looks at the food, then back at Hana. He's still not entirely putting two and two together, but he's caught on to one thing: There's something special happening... As they celebrating something? Did she get a bigger house again?

Shrugging, he walks over and sits not to her.]

Hmm? And what would that be? [Glancing at the book cover... He has an idea. But doesn't say it.] You look like you've been busy.

[Hana brought the basket in between them and showed him the book]

I have! This is a book on constellations~ I know you very much like stars and planets and so I figured I'd..learn!

-And! There's such a thing as star..hunting? Yes. For your birthday I figured we'd do that.

[pauses and grins a wide dragon-y grin] So..surprise! 'Guide to the Night Sky'..that's what this book says right? I've been practicing just for this night!

[Uai was following along, until she said she had a birthday. It felt as if his thoughts had crashed into a wall that he couldn't navigate around: He did celebrate his birthday?? Mostly because time was wonky and he had no one to celebrate with.

Sans Alyce, but she was strange.

Blinking, he looked down to the book and then at Hana again.]

Ah... Well... [He sort of already knew how to do that.......

Uai bit his tongue and smirked.] You can hunt stars now? Then show me.

[Hana wiggled her shoulders and opened up the book gently in between her paw and claws like fingers]

Okay soo.. it's Autumn now, so.. [she stopped a page, read a little out loud and pointed her nose at the sky]

So we're looking for the "Summer Triangle" which..is strange because it is Autumn, but it should be.. ah-there!

[with her paw she pointed up...hopefully at a specific star] See that one? How it makes a thing called a triangle?

[He watches her, amused by all of the effort she's putting into this. It's probably worth more to him than the stars. Uai follows her direction, silently impressed when she finds the Summer Triangle.

Moving his hand, he gestures between Vega and Altair.]

Hmm... What's that in between those two? [It's the Milkyway, but he's going to let her use the book to figure that out.]

[Hana tilts her head and goes into the pages. Luckily it was close since it was in the "Summer Triangle" page. She muttered]

Al..bi-ero..? No-that's not really in between.

[It took a little bit but she finally perked] Oh-! The Milky Way..?

...That's an odd name for a star. [She read in her trusty contents to look for 'milky way']

Hmm. Is it just one star, or-- [He cuts himself off. Seeing that Hana is checking the index for information, he refrains from monologuing. It'll be more satisfying if she solves the mystery herself.

In the meantime, he sneaks a pastry and keeps an eye on her. Waiting for her to tell him what it is.]

[Hana glanced up at him strangely, even tilting her head, but shrugged it off, searching]

It should be one star. Stars belong in the sky. And planets! Oh- speaking of! What's your planet called? Maybe its in this book? I don't know what mine is called, so it's not in here.

[No way.

But also, Hana found milky way and was paging through the section of galaxies????]

[He sees that she's found galaxies now and isn't going to stop her research. But when she has a question, he's there to give frustratingly vague answers.]

How do you know it's not in there? Just because you don't know the name doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

[Dodging the question about his home.]

[Research, research, flips some pages and while doing so, Hana perks]

..Really? I thought a planet had to have a name in order to be recognized. It existed yes but..hmm..

How..would you know it's out there..?

[She's going to keep tabs on that 'home' question for him, she swears, but she did find the milky way]

Ohh..! Oh..interesting..

Not recognizing something isn't the same as it not existing.

[He watches her study, not interrupting anymore. Both because he can tell she's learning about the Milky Way, and because he doesn't want to be dragged into talking about home. Thinking about home hurts when he's next to this Hana.]

Well? Do you know what I was pointing at now?
