Matt missed New York at Christmas time. While snow pretty much just turned to slush...there was a special feeling in the city he loved. It just felt magical and people seemed kinder and more open during the holidays. He was trying to recapture that feeling by walking through the local park wearing a new gray trench coat and a red scarf wrapped around his neck. Jessica would laugh at him for being so sentimental, but she wasn't here anymore and Matt was in a mood. So he walked and brooded as he missed home.

It was often in the upper 40s in Virginia around this time of year so Adam was not used to snow on Christmas.

In his house, there was not even a Christmas tree or any other decoration. His father always complained it was too expensive to get Christmas decorations when they would be thrown out soon. So Adam didn't really have "happy" memories of Christmas. He didn't miss home all.

Instead, he missed his friends. Gansey, Ronan, and Blue. He did not know what they would do for Christmas but he figured it would have to be better than what he was used to. Even without a holiday, the whole idea of family was important to them.

Walking beside the dire wolf puppy, without a leash on it because it wasn't a dog, Adam was preoccupied with thoughts of his friends.

Theo was walking home from the butcher's shop when he spotted Matt walking through the park. He did a double take because he was certain that the man was his friend, and not some hallucination because he was homesick.

"Matt?" Theo called out. "Matt Murdock?"

Theo ran quickly over to where Matt was, happy to see his friend, well, his brothers' friend, but whatever. He was here. Matt was here. Everything was good, more than good actually.

"I'm here, man," Theo reached out and touched his arm lightly. "I am so happy to see you. How long have you been here?"
