Greetings, citizens of this world.

For those who are unfamiliar with me, I am General Grievous, one of the deputy Guardians of Nova City. I also oversee the Sheelal Centre for Trauma and Self Defence. Should you need emotional aid, come to the centre to be healed and supported. We are always on the lookout for more employees as well.

Now, there are many who have newly arrived and I am certain that you have questions. I will answer those that I can.

I am certain that there are many from other worlds and here is a question for you. What planet do you hail from? What is your world like?

I myself am from Kalee; from its tropical regions. It has sparse resources but boasts impressive jungles and vast oceans. You may visit it through my sub-archway in Nova. I shall offer a guided tour should you not wish to explore a dangerous area on your own. I am proud of my world, despite its shortcomings in the eyes of others. It may not be the richest or most fruitful of worlds, however it is home and I do miss it.

Still, I remain here among you, protecting the world and Nova City in particular from any who threaten the relative peace and safety here.

I thank you for your attention. Now the way is open to you. I welcome your responses.

What kind of help are you looking for? I've got some experience in self-defense if that helps. I've shown hunters a few things.

We're from Eos. Much of it is destroyed by daemons at the moment, but I'm sure we'll be able to rebuild at some point. We used to have a large, populated city, but most of the people have died since the darkness fell. We had nothing but darkness for ten years so it was colder, not much vegetation that sort of thing.

At least the daemons have gone, finally. It used to have some really beautiful places, but I think it will get better again. I hope so.

Oh don't worry about paying me, I have a job, I'm fine in that way. Sure, I'd be happy to.

I hope so too. People are resilient. They can survive a lot.

Well, I've had military training, and a decade of modifying that for the worst case scenario, basically.

Well, I haven't really lived there since I was a kid, but I'm from a world called radiant Garden. Nice place to grow up, all told; lots of fountains, impressive stonework, and of course, gardens. Our king, Ansem the Wise, encouraged the development of both magic and the sciences, which generally helped make his people's lives a lot better.

Course, that was before Xehanort showed up.

Kinda? At the time he was just one guy, but now there's about twelve of him, at least, so maybe that counts as a force? Though really, he's powerful enough to be a force all on his own too.

Anyway, long story short, one day Xehanort turned up in Radiant Garden and Ansem took him on as one of his apprentices. But that was a mistake; through a combination of charisma and trickery he led a group of Ansem's other apprentices to perform experiments on unwilling people to research the darkness of the heart; experiments that Ansem himself had expressly forbidden, both because they were horrible and because they could be very dangerous. Eventually, Ansem found out and tried to put a stop to them, but they used the knowledge they'd accumulated to cast him into another dimension.

He was right about the danger, though. Their experiments created Heartless, creatures of pure darkness that are instinctively drawn to the darkness in the hearts of others. They rip out people's hearts which then turn into more Heartless, which go on to attack more people, and on and on. For awhile, they were able to keep them confined to the lab, but eventually, they got loose.

And when a sorceress named Malificent showed up, who could actively control the Heartless? She had a ready-made army. She was able to use the Heartless to overrun the place and claim it as her base of operations; anyone who lived there at that point was either taken by the Heartless or driven out to other worlds.

No, I know, this place is pretty peaceful. I'm just saying if I can help. I learned the basics too.
