[I- Action at Devil May Cry]

The life of Attleton's guardian was not the most glamorous one. Today, like many other days, Dante found himself engrossed in reading over report after report regarding stuff that was, quite frankly, under his pay grade. He was going crazy with all the frivolous and mundane demands that ultimately made no real difference in the grand scheme of things. He was dying for someone to break up the boredom...

[II- Action around Attleton]

When Dante had done all the paperwork he could take without shooting himself in the foot or falling asleep, he made the executive decision to go out on patrol. Nothing unusual about that, but it seemed like it'd been months since he last left the shop. Even as he walked, guitar case slung over his back, he still looked like he was bored out of his mind.

Demyx had been keeping a low profile since things had moved and changed and he wasn't working with the guardians any longer, but he was trying to get out more. He was a little worried about engaging with people who might leave him alone again.

He really needed to move out of the big house, honestly.

He saw Dante and offered him a smile. "Hey."

( She's here-- early, as always. Not unusual for her, really. Making it over to take her side by Dante as he busies himself with his paperwork. )

I can take over for you, if you would like.

( This offer is made without a shred of hesitance, considering such duties were typical of her. But Dante should know how she is. When Integra commits herself to something, she approaches it with a steadfast resolve, never allowing herself to rest until her task is completed. Her eyes will linger on him until he acknowledges her question. )

Dante was more than happy to engage in small talk with anyone he passed but was surprised to see Demyx out and about. It'd been so long since they'd met, he was starting to wonder if he'd moved to Nova City or something. It was good to see him around though.

"Yo. Haven't seen you around in a hot minute. What's up?"

[It was still early and Dante was honestly still trying to wake up. The paperwork was not helping in that regard. When he heard Integra's voice, he jumped slightly before yawning.]

Eh, this stuff is all directed at me specifically, unfortunately.

[He looks at the stack of petty complaints and "suggestions" for ordinances geared to make neighborhoods more 'inviting' but just served to get in people's business.]

Y'know what, why don't we ditch this shit for a while. [He stands from his desk, snatching the guitar case he keeps nearby and slings it over his shoulder.]

My treat.

"I've been around just...yeah." He shrugged helplessly. He hadn't been up to much. He stopped working for Cassian and then he sort of disengaged with everyone. Especially as his friends started to vanish.

"Nothing really. Thinking about moving. Talked to Lea, haven't done that in awhile..." He scratched his head. "Think Zex is gone too so...I guess a lot when I think about it."

Well, not like he has Sakuya around, who is perfectly happy to do the paperwork. And since Sakuya is handling it, Remilia has more time to patrol... and show up at other Guardian's workplaces at inopportune times.

Like right now.

( Dante's question comes as something of a surprise to her. Perhaps it shouldn't. The work was rather tedious-- even for her, but it was important to remain on task lest something blow up in their absence. )

Are you sure it would be alright?

( She's not entirely opposed, but!! )

"Lea?" The names just sort of went over his head, but either way he was happy to see Demyx being social again.

"Don't think I've met either of them. Where you thinking of moving to, if you don't mind my asking?"

I'm the boss here. If I say it's alright, it's alright. Nothing ever happens out here, and Homura's on patrol and can call us if we're needed. It'll be fine.

[And he's heading out the door. Coming, slowpoke?]

Even if Remilia hasn't said anything, he's very keenly aware of her presence. He'd gotten used to Sakuya's form of stealth, and the supernatural had a distinct smell that gave themselves away to his heightened senses. He wasn't a fan of vampires, but from what Sakuya has told him, she was one of the nice ones so he reserved judgement for the moment.

"Can I help you?"

She was also the current Guardian of Everglade and all that...

"Just thought I'd say hi to a fellow Guardian."

If Dante happens to go into one of the local taverns around the area, depending which city. He might spot a familiar hobo leaning towards the bar counter sitting on a stool.

"You look bored out of your mind."

Aizawa had to comment, while he still had a glass of whisky left. He's done working and need a drink, a small routine.

Remilia just gets... a look. A curious one with just a hint of suspicion.

"You would be the first. During my time as guardian we've mainly had an unspoken policy of staying in our own lane. ...Which isn't to say I'm a fan of said policy. But... Hi?"

Dante is still half expecting to get stabbed for monopolizing so much of Sakuya's time.

"Gee, whatever gave you that idea?" The sarcasm was practically visible as it dripped from him as he almost collapsed onto a stool near said familiar hobo.

"God nothing ever happens in this city, it's infuriating!"

"What, not even to work together over something affecting both cities?"

Sakuya would get annoyed if she did that. And she suspects it wouldn't do much anyway.

"Yeah, you've probably seen him. He's tall, got really long red spiky hair. Likes fire." Demyx offered cheerfully.

"Uh, I don't know. I haven't really thought about it yet? I mean, I didn't really get a place to begin with, and I don't think the Pokemon want to wander around with me." The first place, Larxene dragged him there. The second, Cassian had him move in. He hadn't had the experience of doing it for himself.

"It's called early retirement." Aizawa grins cheek to cheek, poking Dante with his words. He already orders a drink, whisky, taking his time with his glass.

"Yeah I think I might've seen him around. Never got a chance to talk to him. That said, Attleton's got some nice places if you're interested. I can show ya around if you want. Though, to be fair, shit just... doesn't happen around here. And the homeowner's association is kinda puritanical with their aesthetic bullshit."

He shrugs, nodding at a guy giving the pair a dirty look as they pass. "Personally, I'd say pushing 'em out of their comfort zone is a good thing, but I souldn't blame ya if that wasn't your cup of tea."

He shrugs, leaning back and propping his feet up on his desk.

"There's really not been any need before to be perfectly honest. Haven't really had anything targeting two cities at a time. Don't get me wrong though, I'm more than happy to work out contingencies before we need 'em."

Meanwhile, Dante just orders a Strawberry Sundae with all the trimmings.

"I'm not used to this bullshit. Usually I'm out running errands for businesses, or fixing some old lady's car when I'm not out... y'know. Killing the minions of the netherworld in bloody displays of overwhelming power and skill."

He takes a bite of is sundae as if what he said was the most normal thing ever. "How do you deal with slow days like this? I might actually need some tips."

[ He'll might scuff it, doing that. It's not like Sakuya is around to clean that up. ]

Hm, is that really that rare? Might as well be ready.

"He doesn't bite or anything." Demyx grinned. "Besides, he's got that whole Somebody thing going on so you know, he'd probably talk to you."

He hummed a little bit. "I don't care if anything happens exactly? It's just since everyone left it's a big house to be in all alone. Kinda reminds me of the castle." Demyx shook his head a little.

"Anyway, yeah, if you know of a place. And then I...do...something and get it right?"

"Overkill." Aizawa comments indifferently, looking down at his glass drink. Damn, ice cream is tempting. He orders something, and waits. In the meantime, he's taking his time with his whisky.

"It's the same when I arrived here myself. So I applied for teaching."

"Overkill my ass." He takes a bite. "One of these days I'm going to open a gate to Malet Island or Fortuna or something just to give you an idea of the bullshit I have to deal with."

Dante rolls his eyes at the idea of teaching. "Yeah, I'm not the teaching sort. Can't really teach what I do."

"I can name something worst." He says dryly, was that a challenge? Before he continues, his root beer float arrives. He steals a taste first. "But sure, I'm up for a field trip whenever."

"You can't teach guitar?" He asks, stabbing his float some more before getting another taste.

"Nope." He sighs, taking a couple bites of his sundae.

"When I'm using a Devil Arm, I'm mainly just a conduit for its power. I'm guessing that's why you could shut off Lucifer's abilities but not my durability. When I've got Nevan, she's basically telling me what to do. You hand me a normal guitar and I couldn't even tune the fucker."

[She'll show up when he's least expecting it to berate his cleaning habits, so he may as well do something to earn it.]

I'm all for that. But the previous set of Guardians were rather isolationist in nature. Granted, I didn't exactly do much to force the change, but...

Dante just laughs. "Yeah, there are some papers to fill out. The Real Estate agent will have those though, don't worry."

The rest of that just sorta goes over Dante's head. "So long as being boring doesn't bother ya, Attleton's great."

"I dunno, I never got my own place before. I wandered around, then Larxene made me go live with her, and then Cassian took me in so..." He described lightly.

Even at home he'd gone from whatever he'd been doing in his old life to serving Xemnas in the castle.

"Nah, I don't mind it." He smiled.
