Valentine's Day Illusion : Hearts, Chocolates & Sweet Words [Part A OTA/Part B Closed]

Part A. Video/Action [Open to All]

[It's Valentine's Day today and Mavis can be found in the guild hall's kitchen trying to make heart shaped chocolates. She heard that the shape of the chocolates doesn't really matter as long as they're in a heart shaped box but Mavis is a perfectionist.

Even since she made those cookies for Christmas, she's found out that baking isn't that difficult as long as you have a good recipe and know how to follow it.

Her brows furrow and she bites her lip in concentration as she pushes the little chocolate heart out of the mold. A small victory cry as she raises her fist towards the ceiling. "And another perfect one!"

Then she looks around her and realizes just how many chocolate hearts she just made... The table is covered in them! She scratches the back of her head and, as she notices the camera turned on once more.]

Hi, everyone! Happy Valentine's Day!

Part B. Action [Closed thread, open to Zeref, Erza & Mira] - Fayren's lake

Mavis arrived at the lake, dressed like this. She's looking curiously around her. Zeref left Fairy Haven early this morning, right after they had their breakfast together, like usual, but today he didn't tell her where he was going. Truth be told, he had been mysterious for the past week or so and, as days went by, Mavis had started to wonder if he wasn't planning something...

She set the little bag she's been carrying on the grass and looks around, searching for a certain Black Wizard.]

...Zeref? I'm here and ready for our date!

...Has he not arrived yet?

[That seemed hard to believe. Zeref was never late.]

It's a day on which people celebrate romantic love. Either you're already in a relationship and you spend the day with your significant other. Or you're single and this day is your opportunity to tell someone you like them and maybe start a relationship.

I'm guessing it doesn't exisit in your world, does it?

[Sure enough, she was on her way. And it certainly did not take long at all thanks to her new mode of transit.

When Anastasia arrives at Fairy Haven, she is riding side-saddle upon a eerily black horse, with mane and hooves engulfed in flame. It ought to be very unusual for someone as innocent as Anastasia to have control over a demonic creature like a Nightmare of all things. The young woman hopes off and the Nightmare trots away, soon fading away.]

Mavis? I'm here!

Part B

Over here, Mavis.

{ Zeref steps out from behind a tree. Her dress was... a nice touch. He hadn't seen her in this one before. It must have been new, something she had picked just for the occasion. Zeref had chosen his usual outfit, but this time, he'd pinned a single rose to the knot of the outer layer of his robes. He'd wanted to keep it simple. Mavis would understand in due time.

He takes a few steps forward but didn't close the distance completely, at least not yet. }

I'm glad you came.

Action!

[fairysoul]

[Mavis is still busy making her chocolates but the front door is wide open.]

Over here, Ana!

Nice horse.

[Of course, she picked it especially for this occasion. Valentine's Day only comes once a year, after all.

She immediately noticed the rose and smiled. Zeref dressed up just for the occasion too, and it was a very romantic touch.]

Of course, I did! I was looking forward to this, too.

[This did remind Winry to maybe attempt to celebrate this holiday. She couldn't really remember much from what happened last year after all. But really she did have chocolates she could give to people as friends regardless. Seemed like a nice gesture and a way of saying thank you.]

[Proudly.] I did!

No. I'm just really impressed at how many you managed to make.

[She had made as many as she figured she could have made.]

{ Zeref finally takes a few steps forward, closing the distance between them. He leans in to kiss Mavis' forehead, and then takes her hand. She's always so warm. It never ceases to amaze him; something he'd never had any desire for before meeting her, and something he'd believed was never meant for him after her 'death.' And now, he can't imagine life without it.

He nods towards the lake. }

Come sit with me at the water's edge. I want to talk about something with you. Something... important.

[fairysoul]

[Mavis both frowns and blushes as Zeref kisses her forehead. She's heard that story about how girls invented high heels because they were tired of their boyfriends kissing them on the forehead and not on the lips... Mmm. But high heels seem so uncomfortable.

As he takes her hand, she just discards her previous trail of thoughts and follows him to the water's edge.] Sure! ...Is everything alright, Zeref?

I... actually didn't mean to make that many.

I guess I was just having too much fun baking!

If it does exist in my world, it's a human celebration. It sounds silly to me.

[Despite his words, he's thinking about someone from his world.]

I'm guessing the candy is involved somehow. Are you really supposed to make that much?

It might originally be a human celebration but it doesn't mean it's just for humans. As long as you have someone you care about, you can celebrate as well.

[A pause and a wink.] It only gets silly when you forget to wish your loved one a happy Valentine's Day.

[She scratches the back of her head.] There's no rule about that but I might have overdone it a little.

Of course everything is alright. { Though he seems a bit... anxious. Nervous, maybe. It's uncharacteristic of him, to be sure, but it's hard not to see that he has something on his mind. Something he's been thinking about for a while, now. }

Do you remember the event where we had seen what would have happened if you had lived? When you would have resigned as master of Fairy Tail, came to Alvarez, and served as Empress? And you, August and I, were a family? I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

[fairysoul]

[Mavis smiles, slightly relieved and sets a hand on his arm. He would not lie to her, he never did. So if he says everything's alright: she believes him.

When he starts talking about the event. Mavis nods and looks toward the lake.] I do remember it, yes. How could I forget? It was the first time I felt disappointed one of those 'events' came to an end.

I wish it would have lasted longer. [She turns to him and said very seriously.] I wish this could have happened for real. It was the second time in my life, I was reminded of how much the Curse could take away from me... from us. [The first time being, of course, when Yuri's wife died.

She pushed the memory of Makarov's birth back to the back of her mind. Today was a happy day she got to spend with Zeref. There was no place for regrets of sad memories.]

I've been thinking about it too. Being Alvarez' Empress, sitting by my Emperor's side. That's something I could have gotten used to. But you might have had to change your name. 'Spriggan'. There isn't such thing as an ugly fairy... [She cupped his cheek in her free hand.] And you're not evil.

Even if I did want to celebrate it, I don't think there's anyone I'd want to celebrate it with. I've only been here a month - I barely know anyone. Besides, I'm not the sentimental type.

No kidding! Either that or you have way too many "significant others" to make candy for. [He does, in fact, have a sense of humour.]

Baking can be fun. have you tried making an apple pie yet? Took me a short while to make a really good one following someone's recipe.

Yes, well... I was disappointed, too. { A vision of what the future could have been. Would he have still wanted to die? Would he have abandoned his plans for Neo-Eclipse? Would he even still care about stopping Acnologia, or would the year 777 have passed without him even noticing? So many questions. And it seemed cruel for this world to show him, and then leave him wanting more.

His hand comes to cover Mavis'. }

And I didn't want it to end, either. In fact... I still don't. { Zeref motions towards the lake with his free hand. }

There's something for you in the lake, waiting for you. Something hidden. You'll know the place. Let's go look for it, together this time.

[fairysoul]

For me? [Mavis' eyes sparkle excitedly at the prospect. That sounds like an adventure. Looking for a treasure in the lake!

There's only... one little problem. She looks down at her dress.] I can't go in the water with my beautiful dress. And I... didn't take a bathing suit.

[She snaps her fingers. She disappears behind a tree, there's a flash of light and when she comes back she's wearing this.] Ok. I'm ready!

No, I haven't. But I'd love to try it. Would you teach me?

...One doesn't need to be the sentimental type to fall in love.

[Mavis laughs good-heartedly at that.] It certainly looks like it, doesn't it?

Well, still, it's not for me! [He turns to show the dark blue scales running from his left cheek down his neck. A horn grows from his shoulder.] It's not like anyone is ever going to love someone like me!
