[Mostly Closed Action] Valentine's Date

[It's Valentine's Day, and there's only one thing to do. Anastasia had been planning for a week now what she should do with her boyfriend, and since he's been busy re-organizing the shop, she took the initiative to do this planning. And she certainly found something that will be perfect!

So with everything ready, she locates Soma where ever he may be.]

Soma~ It's Valentine's Day, and I have something we can do to share this day together. Take a look~

[She hands him a couple of tickets to the latest movie being played at a cinema and coupons for a Valentine's dinner at one a high end restaurant.]

What do you say?

(Killing Time: OTA)

[Surely she and Soma are not the only couple out and about for Valentine's Day. Who else will they run into as they are about in about in Nova, Genessia or Everglade, visiting shops or parks as they wait for the movie?]

(Date: Closed to Soma)

[It was time! It seems a lot of people were taking an opportunity to see this move as well. Anastasia did no research prior to getting this tickets, but it looks like a action movie with a love interest involved. Anastasia hangs on to Soma's arm so she isn't lost in the crowd.]

I didn't expect it to be this busy. Do you still have the tickets I gave you?

[Needless to say, Soma'd accepted the offer of an evening out readily enough. They've been dating semi-seriously for the better part of three months, now, and he's finally getting comfortable with the idea that yes, being out in public together IS something couples do.

He extracts the pair of tickets from his pocket to show her.] Right here. C'mon - we'd better get our snacks before all the good seats are taken. We don't want to end up sitting behind someone who's going to spend the whole thing on their phone, after all.

[Soma's choice in snacks is fairly plain - chocolate peanuts and a soda. Enough of both to share, and two straws.]

[Serious hand-holding is serious. It takes Anastasia a bit longer to look over the selection before deciding on strawberry-flavored candy.

Has she even been to a cinema? She can't remember, but it is concerning there are some people who would be rude enough to talk on their phones. But at least she'll be with Soma, so it can only be enjoyable.

With everything bought, they make their way to where their movie is showing. Take a look at these comfy looking chairs; Recliners, and spacious between rows. And look, there's even some sets not divided by arm rests, specifically for couples. It was something that Anastasia made a beeline for. Furthermore, it seems they're right on time. The lights were beginning to dim, the trailers will begin soon.]

Soma, how's this one?

[Soma examines the paired seats with a critical eye. The theater staff is quite good at cleaning up between showings - then again, this being Nova, it may be entirely automated. Either way, he has no complaints, establishing himself on the right-hand side of the paired recliner.] Perfect.

[He holds the snacks while she gets settled in, and hands her strawberry candy back once she is. It may be missing a couple pieces, though - whatever could have happened to them in those few seconds?]

[While Soma settles in the right-hand chair, Anastasia will take the left-hand. It certainly was perfect! Even the tall people in front of them did not even remotely obstruct their vision.

Anastasia somehow missed the part where Soma got her candy and it was opened? Did he steal a few? She gives him a playful glare before curling up into the seat so she can rest against his shoulder.

One of the trailer's playing seems to depict a human hero fighting a vampire villain. It looks exciting, but... It kind of rubs her the wrong way a bit.]

This movie surely would not fair well in Everglade.

[He smiles sweetly back at her, displaying one of the pilfered treats between his teeth. As the trailers play, he sighs and nods.] Indeed. Though it depends on how the film actually progresses from there - an action scene in a trailer isn't really enough to judge plot from.

[He's keeping his voice low, hopefully enough so that no one will get angry over it - then again, everyone's still really getting settled as the trailers roll, so they've probably got a few minutes still to talk.]

[Anastasia hides a giggle at his proud display of plunder.]

That is true. Want to go see it when it comes out?

[The movie's opening sequence is beginning. Depictions of what seems to be a high tech espionage headquarters. Anastasia isnt focused on the movie right now, though. She picks a piece of candy from her box and offers to feed Soma.]

I'd love to.

[He accepts the offered bit by deftly nipping it from her fingers, and offers a chocolate in return. Someone behind them makes a noise and he looks back at them, a brow raised. No one seems to want to claim their reward, so the theater gets to avoid a display of quick and brutal violence - or at least a polite display of fangs.]

Then it's a date.

[It was merely just a short PDA, so it was just about over when she opens her mouth up for Soma to toss in the poece of candy.

After that, she'll ignore the people behind them and just relax against her boyfriend's shoulder and watch the movie. Which will take a solid 3 hours, and Anastasia's candy does not last nearly long enough.]

[He's quite content to be leaned on and lean in turn, and the movie isn't terrible. Not what it was hyped up to be, though - and too long. It's more psychological and philosophic than action, in the end.

Soma's candy doesn't last long enough either, but he's brought a backup in the form of a pair of strawberry parfaits, smuggled in his coat pocket. Still ice cold, and in disposable cups so there's no waste to smuggle back out.]

[Anastasia has never been to theaters often, almost never, so it was quite an exciting movie for her.

She just barely heard the sound of those parfait cups being opened, and the glow from the movie gave her just enough to see what it was. Strawberry! She whispers with a hand gesture.]

Ooo, gimme~

[Looks like the movie is starting to reach the climax of the story. Maybe 30 minutes left.]

[He chuckles under his breath and gives her the first one he opened, with a likewise-disposable spoon.] Careful, they're really cold.

[And that last 30 minutes appears to be where they hid all the actual action. An explosion kicks off the party, and from there on, pretty much everyone in the room is riveted.]

[Have you forgotten, Soma? Nivians resist the cold. She momentarily forgets to dig in when the true action happens, with the hero trying to save the love interest.

After all that, it begins to wind down. Day is saved, happy ending... And a suspenseful teaser at a sequel. Roll credits.]

I... Have mixed feelings about this movie. But let's hurry on to dinner.

[In honesty? He had forgotten. It's hard to remember someone's technically a different species when they look and act entirely human.

Soma carries their trash to the can and deposits it on the way out.]

I've seen better, but also worse. But yes - dinner would be lovely, right now.

[The restaurant is crowded, but their reserved table is still open. They're led to it by a girl dressed as Aphrodite, complete with toga - though it covered rather more of her than Soma remembered of the classical depictions. Fortunately for everyone.]

[Soma shall be forgiven.

And indeed fortunate for everyone, even Soma. There's only one girl he should focus on. Anastasia looks over the menu for a short while... The food better be good with these prices.]

This place is incredible, isn't it? The staff went all out on the decorations.

What are you having?

[And focused his attention is. He watches her over the top of his menu, smiling slightly when he sees her reaction to the prices. There was a reason they could afford to give out coupons like the ones she'd shown him.]

The braised duck, I think, with a loaded baked potato. And the house red wine.

[She smiles when she noticed he was watching her. She spots the braised duck on the menu, and it looks like quite a feast by itself.]

Hmm... I'm not sure what I want. Do you want to share the duck?

[He folds his menu and nods. It was one of their specials for the day - intended to feed two people.]

That was what I was hoping for, yes. What would you like for a side dish?

[There was quite a selection - several types of salad, more variations on the baked potato, and more exotic dishes too. No beans, though.]

Side? Side...

[Glorious! This has to be the couplest thing they do - share a dinner!
She looks over the menu again at the selection of sides, and it doesn't take her longer than a moment.]

I'll go with the salad. With strawberries.

[He chuckles a bit. He knew strawberries would find their way in somewhere, but he'd expected them more toward dessert.

Their order takes a little while, but they're given a free glass of wine while they wait. Soma raises his in salute to her.]

To Phylos and Eros.

[She loves strawberries. They're soft, sweet and refreshing. She takes her glass of wine and, likewise, raises it. She doesn't know who Phylos and Eros are, so she will pretend.]

To Sayame, and to us.
Happy Valentine's Day, Soma.

To us. Happy Valentine's Day, Anya. [He takes a sip of wine, and sets the glass down.

Their order comes not too much later, complete with a waiter to do the initial carve for them. The strawberries and tomatoes in Anya's salad have been cleverly cut into heart shapes.]

[She follows suit, but flinches when she took a sip. She's still not used to this stuff. She brings up the movie while they wait, expressing how it was quite nice up until that finish, then her opinion on the whole thing seemed to flip.

Now, Anastasia has to pause to appreciate the heart-shaped strawberries and tomatoes, scooting the bowl to Soma to show him.]

Aww, Soma. Look~ Isn't this cute?
